Changes in 03-08-2017 Build
- Synced XOSP sources

Important Notes
  • The home button DOES NOT wake the device. I tried a few different things to try and resolve this without luck and I don't want to spend anymore time on this as I have other things I'd rather concentrate on.
  • I have no plans to maintain this ROM. This doesn't mean that I will never update it,but I may not. It takes me a fair bit of time to build and maintain ROMS. I have built this as a request. So please no asking about updates.
  • If either of these things is something that you require I suggest you use another ROM.

  • What is XOSP?
    • XOSP is an after-market firmware based on CodeAuroraSources (CAF) destinated for a wide range of Android phones. The name stands for the Xperia Open Source Project and the project was initially created by @nilac for the Galaxy S+ (his old device) years ago when back then the ROM was called S+ Reborn. The vision was to create a minimal bloat free ROM which included Sony Xperia specific apps and various tweaks users would expect from a custom ROM.
S+ Reborn became a success and was eventually ported to different devices so from there it was rebranded to XOSP. Calin worked on the project for 2 years always trying to improve it. Eventually, Because of the fact Lollipop was buggy on his Galaxy S+, he decided to take a break from development until he got his hands on the Zenfone 2 in 2015 and from then he started again the development of XOSP and continued it ever since.
  • How do we release updates?

    • We release new updates for our Official devices each week by providing Delta updates to the users,so maintainers of the other devices can do the same as well if they want to keep up with the changes. We will make full zip releases only once a month except special cases like for example XOSPDelta is not working or something like it.

  • You can find all the included features right:

  • You can find the list of current issues in the ROM right:

Installing XOSP
  • Install TWRP version of your choice
  • Download the XOSP zip file
  • Copy to your phone
  • Reboot into recovery mode (Volume-Up + Home + Power button)
  • Wipe Dalvik/art Cache, Cache, System and Data (inside Wipe -> Advanced Wipe)
  • Install XOSP
  • Install GApps of your choice
  • Reboot

XOSP - 7.1.1
XOSPApps
GApps (I suggest you to use the Nano package)

ROM sources

  • @nilac and XOSP Team
  • CodeAuroraSources
  • Sony and the Xperia Community
  • @malybru for the XOSP banner
  • Mihir Mistry for the XOSP logo

Thanks a lot! This is one of my favourite ROMs, as you know, and I really like it!
Absolutely. I'm glad you're liking it. I used it for awhile and also found it really nice. I wish I could have solved the home button wake issue, but nothing I tried wanted to work,so I just had to move on.
I think there were a couple of display related features added in between the test build and this one. Mostly relating to LED's I think. So if that's something you want and you haven't you might want to flash this version.

I don't send SMS messages very often, but they do not work for me on Nougat ROMs, does anyone know how to solve it?

Interesting. I guess I never really send SMS. I didn't know this issue existed though. Sorry, not offering help, just commenting I guess [emoji3]
I am curious for others to chime in though.

I can read them, but I just can't send them. I'll look into the system logs to see if those hold any clues to what may cause this.

I really need a PC to do this since this reading logs on a phone is just horrible. Something I did notice, however, was the fact that every once in a while, I get like one hundred messages per second, saying "invalid gralloc handle at (0x0)". It isn't related to this issue at all, but it's strange anyway. I also encountered that on LAOS.

Yeah,it's above my knowledge, but gralloc,as I understand it allocates memory for graphics (images?)
These errors will appear with every ROM for our device,MM ROMS as well. I don't think this is any real problem, but as I said, its above what I know.

No idea what this really is about, but have you installed those things you get if you insert your sim card? Configuring mobile internet etc.?

Maybe try selecting a different APN for test puposses? Does mobile data work on other ROMs?
Yes, mobile data does work on other ROMs, but again, that doesn't matter because this is not about mobile data!
My provider does have two different APNs, but both of them don't solve my issue, which, again, is about sending SMS messages.

Hi!
I had the same problem without knowing it :)
I solved it the following way:
1. activate wireless
2. in the dialer app type: "*#*#4636#*#*" (without the quotes)
3. scroll down to smsc
4. flip the phone to landscape
5. hit the refresh button, theoretically the correct number should appear like this: "00000000";222 (with the quotes)
6. hit the update button
7. close the dialer and try to send an sms (you can send yourself one)
I had do do this several times till the correct number appeared but now it works.

I manually entered that number but it doesn't work. Any other ideas? Thanks for the help anyway

Hi!
Sorry I forgot to mention that it is not sufficient to just enter the number.
You need the right smsc number, put it in quotes followed by a semicolon and a 1 to 3 digit number. I don' t know what that number is. For me it looks like this
"01760000443";115
So you could try it the way I described. Another idea could be to use an old messaging app that lets you set the smsc number in the app itself if this still works with the newer android versions.
Other than that I have no more ideas.
