This ROM is working good for me so far. Hopefully enesuzun2002 will keep it updated with current security patches. I switched from the 17.1 ROM which was unusable due to the excessive unadjustable call volume and some BT audio issues. I am using a 920W8 in Canada.

I have the same model & on 17.1 thinking of switching from 17.1 due to software bugs. Were you able to downgrade from 17.1 to 16 or did you end up doing a fresh install?

Hi everyone, this ROM worked well, apart from a small problem with the wifi disconnecting.
Now I tried to enable encryption from Android settings and now my phone is in bootloop.
How can I fix? Just wipe and reflash the ROM?
I can boot to TWRP recovery.

Having trouble sending & receiving mms on Freedom Mobile in Canada - Any ideas? APNs are setup correctly.

Found a forum post with someone suggesting to change APN Protocol from IPv6 to IPv4/IPv6. I hope that helps.

P.S. I've been following your posts since I'm also using a Canadian W8, and Oh man! what a huge difference LOS 16 makes. Everything is so much smoother and refined. On 17 I kept running into various camera issues and a ton of lag here and there. Also never managed to get 2G or LTE, 3G only. Now on 16 and it made me believe that I can rock the S6 for a little longer. Thank you for that!

That's great - I'll check the APNs. It was working on Public Mobile before I switched to Freedom. I know Freedom uses different frequencies/bands than most so it could be a ROM issue enabling those bands as well. I have found 16 to be much more stable than 17.1. Glad its working out for you.

The APNs were already set to IPV4. Changed to IPV4/IPV6 but no luck. Could it be a band 13 issue - something not enabled in the ROM? Freedom uses some less common bands.

This appears to be an issue with the ROM, as my phone connects to LTE and can send MMS messages successfully on Freedom Mobile with transi1's new crDroid 6.7 release for zerofltecan / SM-G920W8.

So the reduction in MIC volume makes calls now almost impossible as the other party can barely hear you. I don't think this is a valid fix for the echo issue.
I confirm it :(
Though, the GPS seems to be stable in the 04.18 build (I can use it multiple times without reboot.)
:victory:
Am I able to tweak the MIC volume at system level without rebuild?
Someone also suggested to cover the secondary(?) mic...

Maybe edit systemui app?
or settings and maybe framework apps

If u have original copy of efs folder you can try to copy efs folder to your phone and see if anything changed

I tried restoring EFS from a TWRP backup of the ROM where LTE/MMS work but no luck. Behavior is the same. Found that MMS on Freedom Mobile also works on EvolutionX ROM, so I think it is a ROM problem on this LOS 16 ROM.

How did you extract EFS folder
You have to do it right maybe you already know it
Sometimes you have to do it manually extracting files
If it not this try to fix it with original stock firmware for the phone you have to try all kind of method including T-flash but be careful with Pit file if you know what i mean

I just restored the EFS partition from a TWRP backup of the working ROM. Will that not work? What is the right way?

Did you have tried extract Backup from TWRP Before?
I might be wrong. I extract files 1 by 1 all of them because 1 file is 50bytes and other 1 file is real.
Maybe it just me or my Backup must be different
Because of password I create
Just check it OK
I might be wrong

Great, the kernel is now "selinux enforcing"! :good::)

Sent from my Samsung SM-A520F using XDA Labs

Where are the sources that have SELinux enforcing? I have built 16.0 but the sources I am using have SELinux permissive which I think stops SafetyNet passing (or at least Google Pay won't work...).

Cheers
Andy

Note: This is not a ROM based on the ROM shipped with your device.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github Repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Custom Features Overview:
    • Hyper - Kernel
    • Custom Power Hal by TeamNexus
    • Many More

    What's working:
    • Telephony (Calls, SMS, Mobile Data)
    • WiFi
    • Bluetooth
    • NFC
    • GPS (Plain Device Mode Works)
    • Fingerprint
    • Camera (Needs Improvements)
    • HWC

    What's not working:
    • Obviously Samsung's own features such as Samsung Pay, KNOX, Theme Center, Game Launcher, etc. won't be ported to LineageOS. We may have our own implementation to similar functions, though.
    • IMS services (VoLTE, VoWiFi, etc). Samsung has their own proprietary implementation. It is not really possible to easily port that to LineageOS.

    Instructions:
    • Make sure TWRP has been installed and functional.
    • Download the latest build (and optionally gapps).
    • Reboot to recovery
    • Wipe data and cache (required if you switch from other ROMs)
    • Flash the latest build (and gapps)
    • Reboot

    Downloads:

    Reporting Bugs:

    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)

    F.A.Q.

It is a good idea to read here before asking same question

    1- Q: How can i report a bug?
A: Download Syslog app from Google Play Store and send me all log types and explain the bug clearly please.

2- Q: I have a tmobile device and can't connect LTE what should i do?
A: Try this workaround (till i find a real fix for that) by @bohica888: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81732753&postcount=602

Hi everyone! I took the liberty of fixing the build errors in the hardware samsung_slsi official repos to be able to build zerofltecan, zerofltexx, zeroltecan, and zeroltexx, with the standard lineage codebase.

With enusuzun2002's permission, here are my roomservices:

    zerofltecan
    zerofltexx
    zeroltecan
    zeroltexx

    and my builds:

    zerofltecan
    zerofltexx
    zeroltecan
    zeroltexx
    7
    Changelog

Build 0716 for all 4 variants (link in my signature)
    * Partial HWC fix that I had mistakenly overlooked in my previous builds, but I am familiar with these changes because I use them in my S7 builds, from Ivan_Meler's sources. PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT something new! enesuzun2002 had included these changes in his own builds.

surfaceflinger: check for unreliable retire-fences before invalidating
[TEMP] graphics: libhwc2on1adapter: fix up layer handles

Once Ivan_Meler pushes his finalized HWC fix, I will be sure to cherry-pick it into my forks of enesuzun2002's S6 sources.

    * Synced with LineageOS sources.

You should be able to dirty flash my builds overtop of enesuzun2002's lineage-16.0 builds. However, if in doubt, do a clean flash.

Q: Why don't you make use of the Lineage OTA Updater in your builds?
A: Because I upload to Google Drive, it is impossible to use Lineage's OTA updater because the download URL of the build would have to be predicted prior to building and merged into the OTA updater's settings. Because Google Drive only assigns a file ID once a file is finished uploading, it is impossible to predict the file ID ahead of time to insert it into the OTA updater. I use Google Drive because of virtually zero downtime and generally fast download speeds. I have used Android File Host and BasketBuild in the past, as well as Mega, and all these services had let me down at one point or another. Not that Google Drive is perfect, but it has been the most reliable for me. However, for those unfamiliar, the easiest way to be able to download my updated builds straight to your phone is to add your variant's folder from my account to your account as a shared folder.
