End of support for LineageOS 16.0 ...
It appears that there will be no backporting of Android 10 security (!) patches to LineageOS 16.0.
Therefore, I do not provide such LineageOS 16.0 builds any more.
As of now, I'll be providing new builds for both S6 devices in the LineageOS 17.1 branch.

In my case, an in-place upgrade always failed.
Unfortunately I couldn't solve the problems.
I had to do a factory clean install of LineageOS 17.1 and restore the data from the Google One backup.
However, there was still a lot to do...
Nonetheless, here are the standard upgrade steps.
Please be careful! Note step 1!
Maybe you are successful?
Upgrade instructions:
1. Make a backup of your device including all partitions using a Recovery system like TWRP!
2. Download the LineageOS 17.1 build:

For Galaxy S6 Edge (zeroltexx):

3. Download proper addon packages if needed:
Google Apps for ARM64 architecture:
https://opengapps.org/?api=10.0&variant=pico&arch=arm64
4. Boot into Recovery system.
5. Format your System partition!
6. Install the LineageOS 17.1 build, then install all your addons
without rebooting!
Note:
If you have the Google Apps addon installed on your device, you must follow this step
before booting into LineageOS 17.1 for the first time!
7. Wipe Cache and Dalvik!
8. When you’re done, reboot the device and enjoy the new LineageOS 17.1 system.
