ForsakenGB v3.5 FINAL

Hello all!
Thank you all for checking the ROM in the last few months, I hope you enjoyed it like I did. This is the final release as I don't have the Ray anymore. See you around!
Again, note that I am not a dev exactly, I barely have some ideas about code and script, so bug fixing if any would be difficult; nevertheless, the cooking is all me.
This is made following the available guides and information on xda and for fun.

Features:
- Gingerbread speed and stability
- init.d support in the ROM
- Based on stock Gingerbread 2.3.4, build 4.0.2.A.0.62 UK
- The UI is from GB 2.3.7/ICS like, including themes, wallpapers, font, some applications
- Supercharged at 100%
- Surprise default ringtone :D
- All system apps up to date (as of Dec. 11th)
- Updated hosts file, hopefully less ads in the browser
- ROM stripped, 350MB of free internal memory
- AROMA apps addon, lots of options to install, like Timescape, Facebook, YouTube, Communication apps, News, Tools and more.

ROM Download:
* ROM v3.5 FINAL for UNLOCKED Bootloader
Mediafire or Zippyshare
* ROM v3.5 FINAL for LOCKED Bootloader (CWM)
Mediafire or Zippyshare
* AROMA Addon pack:
Mediafire or Zippyshare
- See the complete list attached below (v3.5_AppsAddon_LIST.txt).
* Lockscreen with Music Control: Mediafire link
Warning: This lockscreen causes a bug that Google Goggles can't use the camera AND removes hold back to kill apps functionality. Only flash if really needed.

Kernels:
(No support here as I am not the author)
* Aire boot_uv7.1.69-sysinit with init.d by bleepyboop: Dev-Host or Mediafire
* Aire boot_uv7.1.69: Dev-Host or Mediafire
* Aire bootpe7.69: Dev-Host or Mediafire
Rough changelog for Aire kernels (Google Translate)
- Repaired recovery for GB in the kernel by rolling back to previous version
- Fixes in ramdisk (reduced size and increased stability)
- Compatible with 70-radio
- New logo
- With the control voltage?: bootpe7.69
- With fixed undervolt?: boot_uv7.1.69
* DoomKernel hartej repack: Dev-Host or Mediafire
Changelog:
- Overclockable to 2GHz (set at 1GHz to start - made sure of it this time!)
- Enabled most of the schedulers so you can choose your favorite

Installation UNLOCKED bootloader:
Before starting you already have to know how to unlock the bootloader, use Flashtool and install/use CWM and kernels.
Note that the installation wipes everything.
1. Have your bootloader UNLOCKED
2. Stock Gingerbread installed
3. Unrar the archive in your PC
4. Connect the device in MTP mode with USB Debugging Enabled
5. Double click the AutoFlash1.0-beta4.exe and follow the instructions
6. Let the ROM load for the first time and set it up
7. Reboot in CWM and flash the Aroma app addon or the Music Control Lockscreen (Optional)
- Fastboot drivers must be installed.
- Do not unplug the USB cable until the Autoflash window closes.
- The installation will leave an update.zip in the root of the card, delete it if you want after is finished.
- You can also start the installation in an unrooted .42 GB, but it will take longer.

* Simplified:
Just unrar and copy in the card the update.zip file found in the system folder and flash it.

Installation LOCKED bootloader:
1. Stock Gingerbread installed, rooted and with CWM
2. Unrar "ForsakenGB_v3.5_Final_CWM.rar" in the root of the SD card
3. Reboot in CWM recovery
4. Restore backup 2012-12-11.08.15.06
5. Let the ROM load for the first time and set it up
6. Reboot in CWM and flash the Aroma app addon if you want

DISCLAIMER
As always, you are the only one responsible of what you are doing with your device, it's your choice to flash it, do your research first.
For non-ROM related problems use the search, GIYF.

* CRT off animation for the lockscreen added -thanks bruj4h for the idea

I find gingerbread to be far more smoother and way less laggier than ICS. Trying this one :)
Thanks, I hope to hear more ;)
I had a better experience in GB too, when playing Running Fred for example, I always had some annoying lag in ICS.

Look really good, but i prefer ics...
If i have some time i'll try it however :good:
Nice, thanks.

No, I didn't add it. There are many choices and people use different ones like Astro, ES File Explorer, Root Explorer, etc.
All are available in Google Store.

How I can change the order of quickpanel icons?
I've been wondering that myself, I also wanted to add some and remove others. Here's the original thread in the Arc dev section, maybe there are answers there :silly:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614121

Edit: as an alternative you could flash hansip's mod, it will change a bit the home bar if you flash it like that but you will have the Quickpanel settings.
If you want too keep the semi-transparent home bar just get the mod made by hansip87 and delete the home.apk from the zip before flashing it.

Update: addon added in first post.

Using this rom now for a couple of days. Looks nice, I always modded the xperia S icons etc. myself too.
Rom displayed a little lagg occasionally while on 768 Mhz, but nothing out of the extraordinary. Remark about contacts: When you enter the name of a contact, it searches according to the telephonenumbers. I recall not having that problem when I manually flashed the leaked xperia S apk's. I assume it is safe to change this?

Just flashed the updated init.d script, lets see what it can do. Was using the rom without those tweaks.

All in all great rom, thanks!! :)

I wouldn't know about that issue, I never underclocked the CPU, only overclock :)

That's odd, I don't seem to have that issue, If I enter 2 or 3 letters of a name, the names with those letters are displayed for me, not the numbers. Change what you need and share :).

Me too, I haven't tested them for a long time too see any changes, I just got them one by one and see if they are executed properly and made an update.
Thanks for the feedback!

New known issue: The alarm seems to be anti-lazy people, this morning when the alarm rang I hit "slide to unlock", after that I entered the unlock pattern and I couldn't stop the thing, I had to reboot. It was annoying but at least I woke up on time.
So as a workaround if this happens hit snooze, unlock the phone and then stop the alarm :D

Yes sure, I haven't tried many but it should be fine. The other day I accidentally flashed sirkay's 7,341 for ICS and worked, but I haven't tested it properly on this ROM. I sticked to GB kernel.

Sorry, cannot reproduce, I never had this. It was installed on a clean stock GB and full wipe + dalvik from CWM? Nevertheless, I don't know what to say because I never seen this, on-screen home and hardware home button always worked, even in all previous beta versions I made.

Problem solved, trying install without wipe anything.. And all work fine, but sometimes led not working. But that not a big problem. Love your work mate, I'm satisfied. Nice ui, light also fast. I think it's equal with RayOnium.

Good to know. Thanks!
I thought I saw something with the led notification but I wasn't sure; I might give it a try.

Update:
init.d addon was attached again in the first post, the script 5 was deleted and a new hosts file was added in the zip, I think I missed it in the original release.
