THIS
If I currently have dalvik cache on sd, will flashing v2 of the ROM attempt to move it back to the phone's internal memory (since dalvik to sd is no longer the default)?

And also: I've had fast reboots on un-/installing apps, after which I usually have to do a full reboot to get the app to install. It doesn't happen all the time and it's not that much of a nuisance.. but when I was updating evernote just now it happened again, so I rebooted and now all my apps are gone except for the system apps.
Turns out my ext partition isn't being mounted, again. The same thing happened once before.
Any idea what's causing this, how to prevent it? Or better yet, repair my ext3 partition without going back in time to my 3 month old nandroid bckp?
I'm still on your GRK39F_APP2SD ROM, could I try flashing over it?

I've got a class 6, 16GB sd card getting very good speeds but it's no sandisk, it's a transcend... could that be it?
1024 ext3 size, swap 0

I'm sorry if this is entirely off topic, but I'm kinda lost here.

Might wanna check if your SDcard fits correctly, also use SD Tools (from the market) to check the actual maker of your chip.

I don't see how it would not fit, it's mSD HC and I've been using it for about half a year.
I don't recall SD tools ever displaying an actual manufacturer name, not even on my sandisk, but this one reads "H0421"... don't know if that's useful.

Thanks for chiming in!

Hi, I've bought a new microsd fwe minutes ago, to finally replace the stock 4gb in my N1. It'll be a 16GB, so I would like to try the app2sd rom version.

How it works? what should I do to use it?

AFAIK I must create an ext2/3 partition (by now I'll use the stock kernel) on my microsd, then I only need to flash the app2sd rom version and it will automatically work? let's say:
- format the microsd with a 1GB ext3 partition and 15GB fat
- put the microsd in N1 (with app2sd rom and gapps on fat partition)
- boot in recovery
- flash rom
- flash gapps
- use it, with nothing to set up
Is this the right sequence?

I create a partition with Clockworkmod recovery, flash V2 rom, but I still see few houndreds MB for installling apps....did I make anything wrong?

Also, I downloaded A2SDGUI, but seems to be unable to move app2sd....what's wrong???

---------- Post added at 09:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:37 PM ----------

Ok, got it.

It seems the recovery format the sd in ext4. Then, with stock kernel I can't see it.
Now I move it to ext3 and I can see it with A2SDGUI.

I enable it, and it seems to be used (again with A2SDGUI).
I was expecting I would see the "internal" memory increase by the sd partition. But I didn't see that.
Is it normal? how can I be sure if I'm doing right?
How can I know if I'm going out of space?

Thanks in advance for reply ;)

Everythings seems to be ok with app2sd.

Problem:
I tried twice to install Paypall app, and when it finish download and start to install then the phone reboot.
Both time (installed even from phone and web) more or less at same point.

Anyone can try it?

Fits the bill perfectly. Thank you and please keep doing the same for upcoming stock ROMS (I'm on V2 as I find the app memory fix essential for Nexus One)

guys,
I just installed this on a boot loader unlocked device with amon_ra recovery. I did a full wipe as I was coming from stock.

Having an issue around incoming calls not showing on the screen. It will ring, the phone will vibrate, and the trackball will pulse. However the screen stays off and after 3 rings will go to slide to unlock screen.
Once i get inside the phone, all notifications stop. If i click on the phone it will give me an option to return to current call and then I see the slide to answer screen with the callers image & number.

any ideas?
Also having issues with notifications disappearing from the status bar.

reinstalled trackball alert app, and issue went away.

@fireb33: I wonder if another ROM developer ... say a fellow Italian who is the best ICS kitchen hand for a few devices I use might help you if you want to strip the dross from 4.0.3 to fit the Nexus One. I'll PM you with his details. He is wired to brainmaster and ezekeel.

2.3.6 (GRK39F) is out, please let me know if all is ok!

Same features of 2.3.4 ROM, but I removed Trackball Alert framework so framework files are almost untouched now (you can always add it using smali patch options in Trackball Alert app). I've added stock odexed and rooted version too.

No wipe needed, just flash it over and enjoy :D

EDIT: I confirm that wireless tethering still works :D

I just installed this firmware in place of the latest Cyanogenmod nightly. I am very impressed! This seems to be perfect thus far. best of all is the 2-3 second call delay does not seem to be present.

The things I am missing from the Cyanogenmod firmware are: quiet hours and an option to show battery percentage in the status bar. What would be really nice is if we could get the SuperCircleBatteryMod for this. Overall though this is a great daily driver.

    -D

As for quiet hours, try using the app Sweet Dreams, works like a champ and for the battery status, you can use the one posted or make your own here. Just follow the directions, you'll need to unzip the ROM and extract SystemUI.apk found in /system/app folder and framework-res.apk found in /system/framework folder.

As always, remember to do a nandroid backup.

    You mean 2.3.4?
