i am so f*cking sick of trying custom roms, nearly every ics rom has problems with a lot of 3d games (**** you, google!!!!), some gb roms have problems with this and that and this and that and so on.

i really like this rom because of its slickness. but WHAT A SURPRIIIISE, of course there's an ugly thing too, i CANT BUY STUFF ON google play via my phone bill.

im so pissed off right now, i'm on the best way to hate android in a very special way. because i got my phone for about a month now and there was not a single rom that satisfied me in every single way / works more than a week without showing (big?) flaws.

i really understand those iphone-people now, "one OS for a few devices, everythings stable and so on".

thats just not possible with android. if you wanna go "beyond" stockrom and stockapps, it doesnt take too long and your F+CKED! happy reinstalling!!

Well if you can afford to buy an iPhone then buy one, but you'll be bored by not having to customise it

I'm guessing you haven't tried the hybrid yet, look for JJdoctor

I have tried every single rom for the Sony Xperia Ray, and this old Gingerbread rom from JJDoctor is by a long way the slickest one for the Ray. ICS is a bit slow for the Sony Ray with the hardware available understandably, but this gblite rom really flies, and you can easily make it look like ICS by downloading ADW launcher and then downloading the ICS theme for free.

I tried it because of your post and I won't go back to ICS in a while. But I have problem with the keyboard. It force closes :(
p.s. lol I unchecked my native language and it worked :D

Download a keyboard from google play, you can get ICS or stock gingerbread keyboards, most are free too.

Yeah I figured it out but at first I couldn't enter into my profile therefore I couldn't use Google Play :)
p.s. which baseband should I use ? I think mobile data is not working :(

I think they recommend baseband 58 but I am using the latest baseband 72, which seems to be the best upto now. The other basebands and even this one a little bit are awful to use as wifi hotspots, every so often there is a long pause where the mobile internet data connection refuses to do anything, I find it really frustrating.

How to Flash Zip?

I've tried flashing the zip numerous times (via CWM using the 'install zip from SDcard' option) and my (Xperia Ray/GB 2.3.4/locked BL) phone keeps getting completely stuck at the 'Sony' part of the bootup sequence.. Can anyone help me out?
Would like to see this ROM in action.. :/

JJDoctor, are you 100% sure this ROM is supposed to work with locked BLs? I tried flashing via CWM and it sticks at the bootanimation every time.

    Can you help me?

Have you tried formatting system in mounts and storage? after doing a factory reset, I format system, wipe dalvik, and installation works ok.

    Nandroid Backup

Flashed over clean install of .62 firmware

Aire Kernel used: boot_uv7.1.69 (Latest AFAIK)

    Nandroid Backup: www(dot)mediafire(dot)com/?66urzlq1po57qsa

just replace the (dot) with the normal dots. im not allowed to post externals yet.
