[ROM][GB] JJ's Ginger Lite (Only 69mb inlcluding Google apps)

Hi JJ Doctor, I've tried flashing the zip numerous times (via CWM using the 'install zip from SDcard' option) and my (Xperia Ray/GB 2.3.4/locked BL) phone keeps getting completely stuck at the 'Sony' part of the bootup sequence.. Can you help me out?
Would like to see this ROM in action..

If you haven't flashed the kernel via fastboot then you'll have to do this.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I'm a bit confused about the kernel thing actually.. JJDoctor says at the top of this thread that the ROM works on locked BL's so surely the ROM works with the stock kernel - i.e. there's no need for me to flash the kernel via fastboot?

Would it even be possible for me to flash the kernel with a locked BL anyway? I wouldn't think so, though I might be wrong about that..

Nope , Locked BL means stock kernel only .

Keep in mind that there is stock GB and stock ICS kernel.

Well you said that you are stuck on "Sony" part, on the old GB kernels its "Sony Ericsson". I never tried this rom on stock GB kernel but I think you need to downgrade to GB first and then flash the rom. Correct me if I'm wrong
P.S. Well I saw that you are already on 2.3.4 so I don't know then. Maybe you can install it through CWM backup I don't know

You mean 'restore' the zip file via CWM? The 'restore' option on CWM doesn't recognize zip files..

Anyone got any ideas? Is this ROM usable for locked BLs?

Aha, now I get it! Trying to flash a backup that was saved on someone else's phone though.. mmm.. I dunno. Surely I'd get an 'MD5 error' if I tried that? Anyway, it's not a big deal, I've gone from stock ICS 4.0.4 to jjdoctor's 4.0.4 hybrid back to stock GB 2.3.4. and I'm quite happy with it - no lags and everything works!

Have you tried formatting system in mounts and storage? after doing a factory reset, I format system, wipe dalvik, and installation works ok.

I'm on a locked bootloader as well (Telus in Canada) I'm also getting stuck at the Sony Ericsson screen. Have cleared and cleaned everything, formatted system folder, removed the factory setting etc. Still no joy.

Patch for unlocked bootloader

Patch for unlocked bootloader.
For those who will still flash this ROM

Open ROM zip, go to META-INF/com/google/android and open updater-script.
Delete the following using notepad++:

format("MTD", "system");

Now you have to manually wipe system before flashing.
Flash ROM, then flash patch.
