How will the upgrade to 1.8.3 be done with gladiatric, will we have to go to stock or will there be an option to upgrade over it.

Thanks.
The 1.83 version will assume you're on stock 1.83

My brother recently got a hold of the Motorola Atrix 4G and asked me to root it and unlock it to work with T-Mobile. I have some questions regarding installing this ROM:

1. Will everything work as expected even though it's on T-Mobile now instead of AT&T? I guess I will need to change the APN settings to reflect T-Mobile, but other than that, anything else?

2. Does this ROM install from scratch or it needs some stock ROM installed first? It seems that we don't need to do any kind of "wipe" to clean out the memory card or phone memory prior to installation. I have an HTC HD2 and have done many NAND ROM installs, so I'm not very familiar with how it works with the Atrix. I just don't want to brick it by doing this. I know doing these installs always have some kind of risks involved, so I like to do my research and ask prior to installing them.

Thanks in advance.
1. Assuming the phone is an AT&T phone, just running on t-mobile, that is correct. Only the APN settings should be different.

2. At this point, it assumes you are on 1.57 and rooted already. It shouldn't wipe any data you have, but it's a good idea to make a backup just in case.

Thanks for the response.

Here is my dumb question, I am on gladatrix no theme , how do I uninstall it to go back to 1.5.7 stock. How will the root option be maintained for 1.8.3 update.

Thanks.

I am not smart as you are, I tried to look but could not find the info, so if you dont mind point me to that location.

Thanks.
As there were a ton of issues with the uninstaller, you should have created a nandroid backup of your device before installing. That was your uninstall. If you didn't, the easiest way is to just flash back to 1.26 and follow the update chain.

Update 05/10/2011: So, at this point I've just fallen too far behind the curve, and it doesn't look like I will be updating GladiAtrix any further. I'll still support v4.2.3 for 1.57 (which is pretty stable, and almost all the issues I've seen users have up to this point are the installation). I may at some point throw something together for myself to use and release it (as I don't care for the themes/mods of GingerBlur/GreyBlur), but at this point I'm doing all the mods manually and have no current plans to make a flashable zip out of it.
Thanks for you support, you have helped the community a lot creating your modifications and answering thousands of annoying questions.
Switching to Grayblur for now, with the hope Moto will unlock that bootloader soon and the development for this phone will kick in.

To clarify, I just don't have the time to devote to it anymore. The state of the bootloader has nothing to do with my work :) I'm quite happy with the device stock, let alone with the current mods we have. Anyone who isn't is just greedy.

Have been running GladiAtrix since I got the phone and found it very stable, albeit with a couple of strange slow downs now and then but hey who doesn't have them.

You have given a brilliant gift to the community. Thanks for all your hard work. :)
