The only ones I changed are the model, name, device, and product. So it's one or more of those that prevents Wallet from working. It's not a bug. Wallet is not supposed to work on the AT&T S4. The only options are to make Wallet think you have a supported phone like the Sprint S4 or use Nottach or other app to mod Wallet to bypass the check.
Quick question...
If/When Google wants to push a OTA via the settings menu (4.3 update for example), what exactly happens? Will it never find the update? Or will it find the update but always fail?

wallpaper

Is anyone else having issues setting a custom wallpaper other than a black background? I'm using the Sprint build prop that the ROM was built with and haven't switched over to the AT&T one. Would that matter? I get the message "Setting Wallpaper" after cropping my gallery image but then nothing sets.

*UPDATE* After a reboot the wallpaper was set.....oops. Guess it's an initial install bug.

Thanks. do you mind posting the sprint build.prop or making a flashable Sprint build.prop for those that flashed the ATT build.prop and wish to revert? If you only made changes to those can you post specifically what the original settings were versus the new? Thanks!

<3 why don't you have a donate button?
Okay, put up a donate button.

Are you using the Sprint build.prop? Use the Sprint build.prop then try clearing data for Wallet and NFC and rebooting.

Okay. I attached flashable Sprint and Canadian build.prop's.

Could you please elaborate on what "Removed some TouchWiz-specific files" means in the OP?

I was wondering if you could be more specific with that statement.

I was debating on switching over to your ROM being as it's based on the shipped version and not the leak that was out and used in the other thread.

I have been using the ROM from Aodhan's thread, which has been fine and haven't had any issues at all, but being that his is from the leak, and he changed the build number, I am not sure which build it is and if it is also the MFD build or not.

Also, does your MMS.APK work for the Quick Reply? I remember Aodhan had to do something to make it work on his ROM.

And lastly, being as you have the shipped version, any chance you could post a CWM flashable version of the baseband the phone ships with? I really would like the stock modem that google ships as opposed to running the AT&T modem which I am currently using.

Thanks.

There were some TW files that I have no idea why they were there. S Note files for example. I also removed the TW factory mode. I don't think I removed anything that would affect the everyday use of the phone with any app.

I didn't bother comparing them but the shipped and leaked are probably exactly the same with the exception of the kernel because the stock kernel wasn't leaked. But I ended up swapping out the stock kernel for ausdim anyway.

Aodhan's ROM has the CM MMS. I kept the stock so no quick reply. If you want the CM MMS, there's a flashable mod for TW that might work: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335635

I would recommend against using a non-AT&T modem on AT&T. There's no point. Maybe I'll try it just to see if it works but that's way down on my to-do list.

Although I have the AT&T GS4, I have been running the GE ROM for a few weeks now, so I don't see how flashing the stock Google baseband could be bad.

After all, people who buy the GE GS4 off of the Play store for $650 and just put their AT&T sim in when they get it, the phone works just fine. So being as mine is already running a GE ROM, I don't see it being a problem.

The main reason why I want the stock modem is because AT&T restricts any changes to the band selection from within the baseband from what I read awhile back. I want to be able to get into the band selection and turn off LTE and just use HSPA until LTE gets filled in more in my area. The stock baseband shouldn't have any restrictions regarding band selection.

Also from this thread:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2366289

the OP said the FULL dump just released in that OP is different than the leak that was released and many ROMS are based off of.

Also one last thing, what APK file is the actually Google Play Store file?

I have been customizing my own copy of the GE ROM and want to update the play store in my archive but never did figure out what file it is.

I did download the latest play store APK file, being as mine never did auto update, but now I want to just update it in the flash file itself before I reflash a newer copy of my custom one.

I also play on updating Google maps to the latest version, and I assume all you have to do is replace the GMS_maps.APK with the lastest APK file. Right?

Thanks.

Good question. My guess is that it would find updates but fail to install.

I'm checking out that dump now. It's definitely not untouched. It's has the same build date as my ROM though so it's most likely the same base.

Phonesky.apk is the Play Store. Yes, you can update Maps by just replacing GMS_Maps.apk. Keep in mind that there are different versions of Google Maps for different phones. You probably want the one for the Galaxy S 4.

Extra settings

Love how stable this is right out of the box. A few questions for fellow users of this ROM:
1) What battery mods work with this? I'd like to have the percentage back in the task bar.
2) I can't seem to be able to find where to disable the soft touch key light duration. I like to turn it off but cannot.
3) Anyone know how to separate the ringtones and notification volumes? It appears they can't be separated.
4) Any mod available to add or remove quick access settings in the drop down menu?

I kind of miss all these from my last ROM. If I can add them separately on my own I will but can't seem to find where to locate these mods.

I been wanting to install. First I need to ask minor question.

Kernel uses ausdim's v4 kernel came from Samsung Galaxy S 4 i9500, i9505 > Galaxy S 4 i9505 Original Android Development. Will it work on At&t I337? I just flashed illusion and loved it but I wanted pure google experience. I use this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2297900 to root/unlocked bootloader

Here the list:

0. Wipe/facory
1. Flash rom in recovery
2. Flash loki-doki after flashing this ROM?
3. Flash ausdim's v4 kernel?
4. reboot

Am I doing right? Wanted to ask before doing this. I'm completely new to at&t.

Please let us know what differences you've found other than the modem and kernel. Thanks.

1. For a percentage battery, smaberg's mod and Nottach work.
2. Doesn't exist as far as I know.
3. Doesn't exist as far as I know.
4. I don't bother with quick settings. If you want CM-style notification toggles, use Power Toggles.

You don't need to flash the kernel.

That dump has been rooted and busyboxed at least. My ROM has not been busyboxed. But again, no difference in the base files as far as I can tell.

I don't use the SMS app but are you saying that stock SMS has quick reply? Can someone else confirm?

@yeahmann

Kernel question for ya.

I am working on a new custom build of the GE ROM for my own personal use.

As far as updating ausdim's kernel in the GE ROM flash, what files do I update from Auddim's Kernel ZIP file into my ROM package to update the kernel so when I flash I won't have to update the kernel separately?

I was just assuming you just replace all the files in /system/lib/modules in my ROM's zip file with the ones in his ZIP file?

Is that all there is to it? Just delete my system/lib/modules folder and just put his in instead?

I was wondering if there was anything else or if that is all I need to do.

Thanks.
