It looks like a stock g1 with 1.5. Nothing special just alot faster.

If you are running ANYTHING prior to Haykuro Hero / 6.0r1, it looks THE SAME.

Speed seems to be a the same as a newly wiped g1 running 1.5??

I'm not noticing any significant speeds increases from any of the other builds.

Just loaded this up and is my fav out of all only because the speed! The keyboard is so quick and no lag on the pop up! Also I have 89 free without apps2sd! Pretty dope imo for a basically stock rom.

ION rom is very fast, just loaded it. It does not have exchange activesync, so its

ION = speed
Hero = functions

it's not due to wiping. i wipe at every update and i've noticed an increase in speed.

Yeah, its more streamlined. It is in the build. Wiping does speed it up, but only due to the fact that it removes the many apps you installed. Without all of these apps (nearing on 200 for me), any build can be fast. Depends on what you call fast, but almost any buld can be quick.

Word of warning:

I was running JF1.51 (With SetCPU to overclock my processor) and when I tried installing it without wiping I got stuck looping at the Android Boot Screen.

I highly recommend you wipe when installing ION. I wiped and it installed perfectly.

It does seem faster than vanilla cupcake, even without overclocking.
