Is the reason the S4 given you a bad taste because of the locked bootloader? I see that the Note 4 has a bounty to do the same and figure the S6 will be just as hard to figure out with all of Samsung's securities. Is there another phone in your sites? I'm always looking to see where the devs are leaning to.

Yes. I have had only one device with an unlockable bootloader - the S4. It was a mistake to buy it. From now on it's only Nexus or T-Mobile devices for me.

As for my next device, I am wating to see what 64bit devices come out (probably next year). The S6 is a definite possibility, but I am hoping for a smaller-than-the-Nexus-6, 64 bit Nexus device.

But I am not in a rush. Still loving my Nexus 5, and really loving Lollipop.

Question about this wipe tool.

My friend has the AT&T S4 SGH1337 with Locked bootloader using safestrap recovery. He was wanting to find a wipe tool to clear all the old junk leftover from previous flashes. He used the wipe tool recommend on the first page. Does the wipe tool and reflashes this Gravitron rom as per instructions and ended up in an endless boot. Not boot loop, just keeps the boot animation going and never boots. Waited for about 10-15 min then went back to recovery where there were no slots available to choose. Does that wipe tool only work for unlocked bootloaders or what gives. Anyone else have this issue?

Can you clarify what exactly they did when you say "reflashes this Gravitron rom as per instructions"? Did you install into a ROM or Stock slot? After installing Gravitron through Safestrap, did you install the modules? Perhaps you could repull down the ROM and try reinstalling... sometimes the ROMs don't come down right.

Those are very good questions and I feel foolish for not having the answers. I was just curious about the wipe script, but It sounds like my friends need to read a little more about proper rom installation using safestrap. It seems he has soft bricked his phone only recoverable via odin at least 3-4 times now. I myself am not very familiar with safestrap at all but am interested in sharing my work with safestrap users. What exactly makes a ROM zip safestrap compatible vs a regular rom zip?

Those zips were created a long time ago and before SS. Probably not a good idea to use them with SS.

No boot.img and with proper kernel modules. Need to remove the format step from the updater-script as well.

Thank you for the clarification. Like I said it was for my buddies phone and he has since got it up and running using your most current version and seems to be very happy with it. I took a look at the feature list and have to say job well done!
