@nels83 Please fix this bug, Bluetooth earphone microphones aren't working! I tried normally recording sound by having a Bluetooth earphone connected to the tab, I can hear audio, but when I record my sound my audio from the microphone of the Bluetooth earphone isn't inputting in the rom! Therefore I tried to join Teams calls (the default mic is bad!), but when I have my Bluetooth earphone I can hear other members in the call but when I talk they can't hear me. This isn't a Teams issue, it's a rom issue, please look into it! @nels83

Hi, thanks for the development on this device. I'm about to install this rom on the device of a friend (he did not tell me which version he had so i downloaded the 20210102 version for all 3 of them. There are a couple of things i did not understand:

how can i transfer the files to flash in the tablet if i shall not use the sdcard to avoid bootloops? (obviously i cannot copy them in the internal memory before the flash because that partition is going to be formatted).

Also i was not able to use the search functions of xda to find were in this thread someone explains how to install microg instead of the opengapps. What is the procedure and were do i find the files? Do these microg conflict with the microg installed with vanced?

thanks a lot,
knosso

The microg guide is probably outdated now but if you have any problems hit me up MicroG Guide (took so long to find it I should have just written a new one)

Also as for the SD card, flash the ROM from your SD card and once it has finished go back to the main screen of twrp. Then pull out the SD card and go to reboot.

It's when the tablet tries to boot with the SD card installed it may fail (I have personally never experienced this but a lot of people reported it)

Massive thanks for the reply. I'll try to install the microG as you described and report if any changes are needed. Also thanks for the SD card tip.

Edit: the zip in your guide seems not available anymore. Do you happen to have a local copy of it that you can share or can you please point me to the updated link?

Also one of the repositories seems down (https://fdroid.bromite.org/fdroid/repo/). What is it used for? can i proceed without it?

unfortunatly all android file host links lead to a "no miror found" for this device, and for different developer :(.

It means than for this device, no recent files at all :(

Anyone saved a recent version of the rom and would like to share it ?

I managed to find a cutom recovery ....

Thx

Actually that is a fake error. I guess that some sort of timeout is happening. I simply kept reloading the tab until eventually it found a mirror in Virginia which is far far far away.

that was a hell of a tip !

Jdownloader takes care by itself of the retrying work, and I got the files. As usual this soft solves an issue with rom downloading. I should use it ever.
thx for the tip so !

This may have been said before, but this is the latest version not the one on the thread: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=17248734326145707852
The dev updated it, it's unclear if he fixed other stuff other than newer security patch.
By the way, anyone knows the main differences beettween the builds of this same rom by 2 dev:

@nels83 (link above), and @dpdudek (https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=8889791610682909910), which is not that old also (august 2020).

As I have 2 GT-P5210, I did install one of each, I'll test them side to side. But I'm not sure of the hardware of both!

Hello, the one from @dpdudek is probably old security patch because on the title it says 20200808 = 2020 08 08 , and the one from @nels83 is newer because it says 20210102 = 2021 01 02. Security wise, as in what @dpdudek edited in that code, is unclear. But nels should really update this thread, looks like he has the tab that he updated, bug fixes are worth it my friend @nels83!

I'm using magisk with this rom...
Which version are you using?
Magisk v22 seems pretty wonky for me, it takes up to 5 minutes to load the app, and the app seems to often not not see the framework, when its in that state i can get root access, but not reliably. All i really want is tb to work reliably and adaway, systemless hosts preferred but i dont really care about safetynet at this stage

i just want to point some dates out for nels's activity. the last post he put up was in april of 2019, was last seen jan 10, and updated the rom 8 days prior

at this point activity from them is unsure, but i hope as well that the ROM is updated.

Hi everyone,

Sorry for being away this whole time but, as many of you I guess, a lot happened this year...
As some of you have noticed, I uploaded a new ROM. However it was not meant to go live yet. It was just an update for a friend and I didn't have time to handle the work following a thread update ;-)

Now that I am more available, I can tell you that this upload should fix microphone and wifi. If some of you have time to test it while I'm updating to the latest security patch, could tell us if it works ? I plan to update the thread with beta 6 (with march 2021 security patch) in the next days.

Downloads are here : https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=169815

Thanks to everyone for keeping this thread alive !

Anyone get extreme lag. When I go into settings it can take about 10 seconds for the information to load up and a web page takes a lot longer to. I've used the tweaks as well.
    It's an old tablet

Unofficial LineageOS 14.1 for Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7.1 (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

    Code:
    #include
    /*
    * Your warranty is now void.
    *
    * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, ...
    * You flash this at your own risks
    */

    About LineageOS

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Important information

You need a recent TWRP version to flash this ROM.

    Installation

First time installing, coming from another ROM
    • Copy ROM to SDCard
    • Copy GApps to SDCard
    • Boot into recovery
    • Backup EFS partition
    • Wipe -> Advanced Wipe -> Dalvik Cache + System + Cache + Data
    • Install ROM
    • Install GApps
    • Reboot
    • First start takes a long time

Upgrading from earlier version of LineageOS 14.1
    • Copy ROM to SDCard
    • Boot into recovery
    • Install ROM
    • Reboot

[OPTIONAL] Converting filesystem to F2FS (thanks @michiil)

The ROM has F2FS support. You may want to use it instead of the default (EXT4).

This will delete ALL files/data from your tab.

What you will need: A working PC and a working USB cable.

    1. Install the most recent Recovery
Download the most recent Recovery from the second post. Flash the zip file in recovery. Back in the main menu press Reboot > Recovery
    2. Format Data and Cache to F2FS
Wipe > choose Cache > repair or change file system > change file system > F2FS > Swipe to Confirm
Go back and repeat the same steps with Data. I got some error messages when formatting Data but they don't seem to be a problem.
Back in the main menu press Reboot > Recovery
    3. Install Rom + Gapps
Connect your tab to your PC and copy the zip files on the tab.
Flash the files, reboot and enjoy :good:

How to get back to EXT4

You will again loose all files/data on the tab.
Just repeat Step 2 but use EXT4 instead of F2FS.

    • Go back
    • Go to 'Developer options'
    • Tap on 'Root access'
    • Select 'Apps only' ('Apps and ADB' if you plan to use it in adb shell)

    How to help

When something is not working correctly, in addition to common informations, I may ask you to provide logs. There are different kind of logs and it's not always easy to get all of them. For this, you can use SysLog (available on F-Droid or Google Play).
Make sure to root device before using this app.

    To get the logs:
    • Start SysLog
    • Click on 'TAKE LOG'
    • Once log is taken, SysLog will try to share the resulting file, just cancel
    • Send me the file /sdcard/SysLog/[YYYY-MM-DD_HH.mm]/[YYYY-MM-DD_HH.mm].zip

If you left 'Scrub potentially personal information from the logs' checked, you should be safe.

@nels83 Since there hasn't been any update to the 14.1 version for several months, do you happen to be working on a 15.0 version? If so, please let us know what we can do to help development!

    Cheers

I'm still working on 14.1 (big RIL cleanup). I'm also trying to fix these annoying FCs caused by OpenGL but it's really time consuming (for me at least...) since it happens in proprietary files.
Development slowed down for personal reasons (new house and a daughter in 1st grade :victory:).

Anyway, I'll upload an updated version with November security fixes even if OpenGL FCs are not gone.

As many of you know now, development on this device slows down from time to time since I work alone on this but I always come back ;)

    Beta 2 uploaded

    Hi there,

Beta 2 has been uploaded (LOS released November security patches yesterday).
Major change is the removal of substratum patches. I'm sorry for those of you who use it but I suspect some problems may come from these and it will be easier for me to focus on "pure" LOS stability.
There is also some RIL work: network should be more stable and audio calls should be crystal clear (added wide-band support). Again, since I don't own a 3G or LTE device I can't test it so let me know ;)
Last thing is a possible SDCard fix for those who experience bootloops.

I'm now working on OpenGL FC's and audio fixes (mic and volume).

    Happy flashing
