Thank you so much for this guide. I followed it as is in the video (and kept WebOS), but I'm running into an error.
I can get 4.4.4 to install just fine, but after going through the process to install the following files:
ev_tenderloin-7.1.2-nightly-2017.11.03
FLINTMAN-TWRP-touch-data_media-SELINUX-f2fs-3.1.0-0-5-09-17
open_gapps-arm-7.1-pico-20180726
I get the following error when I try to boot Android from the moboot 0.3.8 screen:
Selected: 'boot Android'
Loading '/boot/uImage.Android'...OK
Checking uImage... Invalid Data CRC
BOOT FAILED!
Press SELECT to continue.
Any ideas why this might be happening and what I can do about it? I'm not real great with the proper terminology, but following the video was very easy.
Hello,
Thank you for your howto @RolandDeschain79. And thank you @SquaredCircle for your post. How did you solve that problem? I am having the same problem and just switched back to KitKat...
Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance!
Kind regards
Fred

I think I was running an android 7 on mine when I went into TWRP (FLINTMAN-TWRP-3.2.1-0-03-15-2018.zip)and used the Automatic_Wipe_All_and_Create_Android_with_1GB_Swap_Partition.zip. From that point I put theI am also running into an issue... Whether Android P or Android O, I constantly get popups like com.android.phone has stopped (on Android P it's that android.setup has stopped and I just get a black screen in lieu of the setup menu, on Android O it's com.android.phone). I feel like I am missing a step. Do I have to go through the android setup wizard on KitKat before installing Oreo or Pie? Also tried clearning cache/dalvik cache as we did in the olden days. I'm not sure if that's still..
How is your TouchPad partitioned and what uImages are in the ROOT>>BOOT directory?I get an error "Updater process ended with ERROR: 7" "Error installing zip file..."
Can someone help me with this!
The most recent time I did a clean install, from TWRP I flashed Automatic_Wipe_All_and_Create_Android with _Swap 1GBHi guys,
I recently picked up a touchpad and decided to install android on it over the weekend. The 4.4.4 install went well and I updated the TWRP to 3.2.1.0 while changing partition sizes as indicated.
However when I try to copy 9.x Rom and gapps from PC to ttinstall folder I get a not enough space error. I think the external sd card that the touchpad loads on the PC is just 1 GB in size while I need close to 2 GB to copy the necessary files to the device.
Kindly advise on how to increase the storage space for the same. Thanks!

Then transferred through USB to USB_MEDIA on the TouchPad the rom, pico GApps, SuperSU and anything Maxtreme available for the rom, flashed them, rebooted and everything worked as expected. I have done this with Evervolv 7.1.2 and 9. Which GApps are you using?
You should not be having issues with too little space with those GApps. I would flash the wipe all zip again to redo the partitioning and go from there with the TWRP it gives you, transfer the files from computer to TouchPad, flash them and boot. SuperSU is for root access management. Maxtreme is a zip that gets rid of some background processes and sets the tablet to function more efficiently.Arm 9.0 Stock from here: https://opengapps.org/?download=true&arch=arm&api=9.0&variant=pico
Edit: Forgive my ignorance, what are SuperSU and Maxtreme?
