If your running a custom rom I want to say that almost by definition your rooted. (because you'd need root to get this rom on your device)

That being said. Magisk i believe has a module to hide itself. I couldn't tell you of the top of my head, but if you have the magisk manager installed look under downloads. There should be something. I said I just can't remember the name

You can have an unlocked bootloader and not have a rooted Android install. Two different things.

I will give Magisk a go, though.

Just want to tell that this rom is Awesome :) Way better battery live than stock ROM for me (nougat), smooth and fully customizable...

I nave only two questions.
There's a way to activate raise to wake? (If I turn on the option in settings don't change never)
The time of the clock are editable? I love thin font like google pixel.

Hi guys !

Wonderful ROM ! How can I manage to make the fingerprints working ? I read that I have to flash the ROM from a Nougat Bootloader but where can I find it and how do I install it ?

If I find the Bootloader, I have to (H870) :

1 - Do a full Wipe
2 - Flash Bootloader
3 - Unlock it
4 - Flash TWRP
5 - Wipe
6 - Flash ROM/Gapps
7 - Magisk
8 - Wipe and Reboot ?

Is it dangerous (Hard brick and so on, don't like to play with BL) or is it preferable to wait for an update of this ROM until FP work ?

Double check your flashing procedure I think you may have something out of order. Also if you want fingerprint to work your better off flashing the nougat bootloader for now.

I'm on the h872 variant which is another good reason for somebody else to tell you specifically the flashing procedure for that device.

The bootloader your looking for does exist though. Try looking in the stock 11g thread

Ya I'm not saying I'm 100% on that flash being wrong, but it just looked off to me.

I know the rooting process can vary between our devices which is why I mentioned it. I went through hell to get my phone straight, but the h872 takes rooting to a whole other level of pia. You may be able to just use fastboot, I know some of these phones do allow for it but I wouldn't know specifically. There should be a thread on it. I know allot of people on this thread are on your device also.

Found this method (downgrade using LG up), Would it work ?

Simplest way is
Take backup if you want
STEP1: download .KDZ file from https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-h870ds-firmwares/firmwares/
STEP2: LG up from here https://www.filedropper.com/g4
SETP3: In dev option open Enable OEM unlock and USB debugging
STEP4: turn off the device and long press vol up + and connect data cable to PC
SETP5: Open LG up S/W it will show your device then select location of KDZ file go
you are done

H870 and LGUS997 you can go up down do anything yea want if the H872 gotta be careful you can brick ur phone do 2 carrier anti rollback

Yeah I'm on H870.

But if I do this, I'll have to follow the whole guide again to unlock BL/Flash TWRP/Root etc I guess ?

What about flashing the Nougat BL juste like this on this Custom ROM (after a wipe) ans then flash the ROM again ? Will I keep TWRP and will I have to unlock the BL again ?

after installed the rom and gapps i have reboot phone but now my phone request a password at boot. i have no password. why it ask me this password? how can i solve?

Can you say "OK" without any password entered ?

Try to Turn off your phone, Boot in Recovery via manual method "Power + Volume Down" and then click YES and YES again when it asks you if you want to Factory Reset.

i have flash the twrp.img again and now the phone "works".... google play store don't install anything, fingerprint sensor don't work, if someone call me i can't answer because don't appear the phone dialer the same thing if i call someone.

EDIT: I will try to re flash all with gapps mini

I can't select fingerprint sensor as lockscreen option at first boot. i can't select the fingerprint button on settings manually. Play store doesn't download any apps.
Now the dialer works.

i have a LG G6 h870 EE. i have installed AospExtended-v5.8-h870-20180816-1038-UNOFFICIAL and open_gapps-arm64-8.1-mini-20181023.

what is the problem?

EDIT: i have reboot the phone and now playstore works. but i can't use fingerprint

If you flash an Oreo Custom ROM over a stock OREO one, you won't be able to have the FP working.
You have to flash the Nougat BootLoader (H87011G here : https://archive.midnightchannel.net/zefie/files/cell/LGG6/H870/ROMs/bootloader-only/) and then reflash the Custom ROM.

Read the last few posts, I asked about a procedure to get it work. i don't if we just have to flash the BootLoader and then ok.

    ->Actually the updates we provide monthly are heavily changed and modified than the previous builds. New stuff are merged and added. So we don't provide incremental updates and recommend clean flash.

    -Does this ROM Support Substratum/CMTE?
    ->Yes, full Substratum support!

    -Which Gapps are recommended?
    ->OpenGapps

    -Will this ROM relock the bootloader?

    I have seen that the blobs were sorta updated to Oreo, or should I say more Oreo like.. but not fully and prob still need some work.. but its a start........
    I also see the LOS Kernel has updated Camera section to work with the new Oreo blobs, which is the only thing I had issue with prior.....

    Well with that said, it might be possible for me to continue with things........ I will admit, I started with AEX Pie, then I stopped for a while to take a break..
    I even bought a Oneplus 6T (Which I really like, fast very fast) but I kept my G6, and will continue to keep it and work on it......... I did currently went back to STOCK, on my G6,
    I cooked me up a modified stock rom, with all updated packages and most all LG crap removed. and made my Device super fast.. well faster then it was before.....

    But now that things are getting updated for the g6, I might dive back into development and start working on it again.........

    I will be gone till thursday, When I get back. gota finish up working on a updated TWRP recovery for everyone.
    I did manged to get everything other then testing encryption stuff working... Its v 3.2.3 now.......
    But now I need to finalize some settings and get device tree ready for all devices.
    I use my Nebula kernel for the main kernel... works great..

    I wanted to build new recovery because soon im going to covert this rom to treble support..
    well more like im going to update the device tree to support treble.. that means your system parition will be resized and the 500+ megs used for a vendor parition.. so need twrp to be able to back up the vendor partition..
    But dont worry, when I set all this up on the rom/device tree, I will warn everyone first before any changes are made like that..

    Just in case of the paranoid users, vendor parition can always be removed back to original just by wiping out that partition..

    anyhow.. that will soon be my new goal in the new future.......

    I am not sure that I will update anymore.. maybe just one more update and list it under the stable edition.. then Call it quits. All the top devs have left the G6 and or LG all together..
    and since the blobs will not get the update to oreo that should fix many issues, then nothing I can do... I will try maybe to build the AEX-PIE, but thats a maybe...............

    It all depends on my feelings........ I will be updating to another phone soon. Most likely getting the OP 6T...........

    and never again LG.............. but I still have my G6 as my daily Driver, so as long as I do, then I will update and play around with it as I see fit..... and as always I will share with the community
    all my work.............. I kinda wanna do the AEX-PIE just for the challenge................ we will see.......................

    Update News: I did start working on AEX Pie, im at the point of tons of sepolicy errors right now, once I get through that, then we will see whats up.....
    I been told that wifi and someone else might not work yet. But that was on a lineage based ROM over AEX that is more aosp then anything......... So its always worth the try.........

    but I will see what I can do... Just for the time being.. at least till I upgrade to another device....................
