Can't use the SD card

Hello.

I have an LG G6 H870 and I'm in a bit of a rut with this ROM.

I've installed it using SkyHawk(since TRWP current and later versions didn't work at all) along with NikGApps and I had my SD card in.
It booted fine but I couldn't complete the setup because the OS was restarting(displaying the loader logo from the ROM) every 30 - 60 seconds, making it unusable.

Not knowing what to do, I've removed the SIM and the SD card, it booted and everything was working just fine.
Put the SIM back, all fine.
Put the SD card in, the restarting happens

Any idea on what I can do to fix this issue?

I had issues with NikGapp dated from the 20 august
Please try the ROM with Open Gapps instead, it solved many issues on my side (with NikGapps I had broken head-up notification and broken phone app)

I did use TWRP to flash NikGapps, that's maybe the cause of the issues I encountered

Do you have your router transmitting both 2.4 and 5Ghz with an identical SSID?

It's not a router problem, tried it with like 5 different ones. By the way, I had this problem with MSM-Xtended ROM as well.

You'd be surprised the amount of people who we've had ask about wifi issues and have both SSIDs the same.

I already found the best solution of this problem (thanks .R.I.O. from 4PDA). If fingerprint doesn't work it needs to flash this bootloader by twrp https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397897267. No data and carrier unlock will be lost.
Add this bootloader to first post of the ROM please

The rom is great, but on my H870 I have a problem: the apps won't remain in background, so when I don't use an app for a couple of seconds, the phone will re-open it. I have Pie bootloader if this matters.

I recommend installing a kernel manager, then in the kernel manager going to the Android Low Memory Killer section and choosing a light option. Try SmartPack kernel manager, it will let you choose from light to aggressive options. Choose a light one and apps should stay in memory longer.

You will need to research on the forums here about converting your variant to the h872. I've heard about this but know nothing about it in detail. If it's possible you will likely be able to flash the h872 file. But again I don't know if it's possible or not to convert your variant.

Assuming u got oreo that it might work, you could even try it. I have never done it so can't help you. There are other exploits for just about every qc processor in cve publications but you would have to build your own app to get it to work.

Can I use this rom on my h871 device?

Unless you can get it unlocked from LG (which I haven't heard of unlocking that variant before) and also - I would assume - somehow convert your variant into the h870 or H872 (also I have never heard of this before with that variant only H873 to H872) then I would guess it's possible.

Most of that is just conjecture. You'd have to research to see if it's possible or even worth it.

I encountered no problems, everything works, the phone is faster, less bloated and the GCam I'm using actually performs better than on stock. It's basically a budget Pixel now.

I do have one question regarding the ambient display. I have it turned off, but every so often it will turn itself on with blue strobing lights on both sides, can someone shed some light on what that might be and can I turn it off permanently?

What you're experiencing is Edge Lighting - Go to Settings > Configuration Center > Notifications and toggle off Edge Lighting.
