ROM uses Stock Oreo Firmware base thus you will have to flash Stock Oreo first and then move to HavocOS build else Fingerprint and NFC will not work

Best Pie option, IMO, thus far. Everything working, so far and smooth. I am having BT phone stability issues, so hopefully there are improvements coming, there.

Same Question here...

and if so, will there be any problem if I flash Stock Oreo over Pie?
If you fall back to Oreo, I believe that you will need to flash the Nougat FP zip.

Sorry, but I´m a bit noobish in the Android world...

What would be the order of doing this?

first, the FP Nougat flash, then stock OREO?

Not sure the order is important - I have flashed Oreo and then the Nougat FP zip.
Incorrect, Potter PIE ROMs moved to Stock Oreo base now, you need to either flash Oreo FP Firmware zip (Provided in the thread) that will get FP back to life or to flash the entire stock 8.1 to get both FP and NFC working

I don't believe that was the question, here. I understood that the question was the order of flash. If you go to Pie from Oreo, you can flash Pie ROM and then flash Oreo FP. Perhaps if you flashed the Oreo FP and then the Pie ROM, it works?

If you are going back to Oreo, flash Oreo and then Nougat FP zip. What is wrong in the above?

Just curious, but if Havoc is based on Lineage OS, then why am I able to install unofficial Lineage 16 without going back to stock rom without any problems and fully working fingerprint sensor, but Havoc requires reverting to stock?

If Fingerprint sensor capability can be patched in after the fact, then why was it not part of the original rom in the first place?

Just feels rather cludgy and more like "unofficial" than "official"

It is not unique to Havoc. As mentioned in other posts, many of the Pie releases (not all) have moved to the Oreo based FP support. I have not looked at the source but assume that Oreo and early Pie releases were implementing the older (Nougat) based FP support. Perhaps you don't see this requirement with the unofficial LOS 16 because that release has not updated the FP support. Not a hack, anymore then the fact that our 64-bit device does not have full 64-bit support. Lenovo has not seen fit to deliver that.
