  • Can I just flash your 4.2 rom over this? or wipe etc is necessary?? Make the "All wipes" is better but it works, make at least the "Wipe Cache & Dalvik Cache"!
  • same partitions?? Yeah!
  • and do we need to use Devil kernel manager apps etc??? Not an obligation mainly that you can put another Kernel like Semaphore or Mackay.

Hi
I want to try this rom on a i9000 but I have a few questions and don't find the answer :
Helly Bean 4.2.1 (Hellybean-20130105-galaxysmtd.zip) is based on CM nightly, what are known bugs ? In which way is it better than 4.1.2 HellyBean ?
How to flash if I come from a CM10 based rom ? I don't understand the install instructions on first post.
Thx

There aren't problems and it's more fast & smooth than Helly 4.1.2. It is based on CM1O.1. I advise you to make all wipes! You take the last [Helly Bean 4.2.1 (Hellybean-20130105-galaxysmtd.zip) ].

Hi,

First thank you for the work on this. I am impatiently waiting to see it on my S2.
I have rooted my phone and installed this ROM from CWM. It went well, and I have rebooted in recovery mode after that.
After the reboot in recovery mode, I have rebooted the phone and now I need your help because the phone now is stuck with CyanogenMod logo on screen (the moving circles) for about 20 mins.
It is not responding to any button...

Please help, I can't use my phone and I'm at work :S.

What ROM did you come from? Did you wipe?

Hi,
Thank you for your fast reply, I appreciate it.
I did not wipe before installing new ROM. Previously I had the official 4.0.4 version.
Now, I was able to restart it in recovery mode: CWM-based Recovery v6.0.1.5.
Home button doesn't work, I can not "Select" any Menu. Back button seems to "go back". I can only press power button, which reboots the phone, and sends it back to the situation described above (CWM logo circles moving).

Wait a sec did you say S2? This thread is for s1...
Anyway if you mistyped and you have s1 then I think you need to start from scratch: flash stock rom, root custom recovery and try again making wipes...

Hi,

Yes, I have S2.
After some desperate tries, I figured out by accident that in order to select something from CWM recovery Menu I have to press Menu+Power buttons.
Then, I went and wiped all the data, factory reset.
I have reinstalled Helly-Bean, and now it works. Pfeeeew.!:good: I am enjoying it already!

Thank you again for the fast reply.

SMS Limit

Im trying to change the sms limit but I cant find the entry sms_outgoing_check_max_count in databases since it is a CM10 based ROM.
Should I create a new one ?

i have an issue with HellyBean ROM 4.1.2. It was fine and then suddenly gallery stopped working along with the camera. it reports "unfortunately, gallery has stopped working" error.

Now I would like to reflash my device in order to get back functionality.
If I reflash with 4.2 HellyBean ROm will it keep all my apps and data untouched ?

CIFS module

First of all a big thank you to DerTeufel for this great ROM

I'd like to ask (sorry if it may sound stupid) if there's a way to activate CIFS module in the integrated kernel.

Thanks in advance

Extremely sorry. Baby girl born here to my wife by August so can totally understand. Congratulations from my side.

Came back over the thread after a long while. Have a Nexus 4 now and Galaxy S with wife nowadays. Will sure give 17th Feb file a spin on i9000 though. Hope nothing got changed in between to lead data wipe.

Congratulations again and sorry for my impatience. Keep up the good work and do give a lot of time to the son

Hi.

I flashed latest 20121115 version, 3G works fine, but no calls can be done and received.

Any idea how to sort it out? Perhaps using a different modem?

Thanks.

Since official CM10 alpha got released today, I don't think, that there still is a need to update this rom. Going back to normal kernel business.

uploading V2 right now to http://devil.haxer.org/jellybean/ as well as to http://rootaxbox.no-ip.org/divers/jellybean/

because of my upload speed, this is going to take about 1 hours...

    changes:
    - rom slimmed down and gapps/su fix included (thx to bhu1)
    - replaced ear.apk with one supposed to work (user report)
    - replaced hw composer with the one from nexus s (this is the jb one, old release was using ics hw composer)
    - fixed recording of 720p (upstream fix to media_profiles.xml

    install instructions:
    - wipe (coming from previous version, you also can try flashing without wipe, and wipe only, if you are facing issues)
    - flash
    - fix permissions
    - reboot

    have to work now. cu

kernel 1.7.4 is online now :)

i'll try to summerize the changes quickly...have to sleep:

    - latest linux 3.0.46
    - latest changes from android kernel source
    - low mem killer changes from steve kondik (cyanogen)
    - updateted recovery to latest version
    - fixed charging issues
    - vibrator intensity changes from cm team
    - dynamical fsync by faux123:
The dynamic sync control interface uses Android kernel's unique early
    suspend / lat resume interface.

While screen is on, file sync is disabled
when screen is off, a file sync is called to flush all outstanding writes
and restore file sync operation as normal.

Had to clean my build folder. Wifi working now, after clean rebuild. I am trying to fix the other small issues, and upload the fixed version tomorrow morning... Compiling clean is taking many hours on my old computer...
