Just installed, so far so good. Running quite nicely. Going to watch for how my battery life is, but otherwise really liking it.

One quick question, is there an advanced reboot menu on the power menu, to allow for rebooting normally or into recovery?

Unfortunately, it does not appear as though CarbonROM includes a reboot to recovery. I haven't seen it anyways. I'm sure there's gotta be a way to add that function in other ways, but I haven't bothered to look. Maybe someone else will be able to point ya in the right direction.

Have a good one!

Have you checked in developer options?

Sent from my T0LTE using Tapatalk

I had not. And it was there.

The reason I had not checked was because developer options was hidden initially. Not something I am used to on custom roms.

Either way, my battery life is pretty atrocious. Although it is no worse than it has been on some other roms I have tried lately. So I do not think it is anything directly related to this rom. And it could also be that I am in a location that barely gets LTE signal, so it is probably hunting for signal all day. I have a new battery on the way anyways, so hopefully its partially just because I have been charing this battery every night since I got it nearly 2 years ago.

Other than that, this ROM is rock solid. I am really enjoying it so far. Might be my new daily driver. Thanks for building it for us!

One more final build... This build just disables windowed mode, so that Chrome will open fullscreen. I believe Chrome Beta has fixed the windowed mode, so it should be fixed in the next release of Chrome, but until then, this update should take care of it, as well as if they choose to screw up with windowed mode again in the future. As always, you should be okay with a dirty flash, but please do a clean flash if you have any issues. Thank you.

Just wondering if there is going to be any 5.0 love for Note2?

Dunno... I'm hoping they have a maintainer for t0lte when Lollipop is ready. If not... I may try to port it, but I'm not a developer or maintainer, so I have no idea if I'd even be successful at it. Guess we all will just have to wait and see.

Sure. You have done lot more than I ever could do using repo from various builders.

Some good ole carbon ROM, running great here, any reason we can't update the modem, or will the TW stuff break it?

I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to update the modem. The ROM doesn't flash a modem, so it depends on the one already installed anyways. Also, there should be no touchwiz bloat on the modem afaik.

Been using this as my daily driver now for the past couple weeks and I gotta say, I am really liking it.

I did have one "issue" that I was running into that I wasn't sure if anyone else saw or knows a fix for. I realize this forum is pretty dead right now waiting for the lollipop releases, but hopefully there are enough using this to help.

Basically, my recents are a bit messed up. It seems as if there is some delay adding closed apps to the recents screen. Often if I am in an app, then switch to another via a notification, the last app does not show. However usually if I back out of recents, then go back in, it shows up. Its a minor frustration, but it is there.

I also noticed that omniswitcher comes installed along with the rom. Any way to use that instead of the stock recents?

I have decided to build an Unoffical build of CarbonROM specifically for the t0lteatt/Samsung Galaxy Note 2 I317. Information about CarbonROM can be found in the official thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2640030 or at the CarbonROM website at https://carbonrom.org/. This is just a build from the official source at https://github.com/CarbonDev with a few of my own edits to allow it to build for the t0lteatt device tree. If you have any questions, or issues, please post them here, or try the official build available at the CarbonROM website at https://carbonrom.org/downloads/?d=t0lte/nightly. I am not a developer or maintainer, but I will try to assist you with any errors you may encounter.

I would just like to say thank you to Team Carbon for developing such a great ROM, everyone who have contributed to the project, and all other great projects which may have a part in making the ROM what it is.

    Flashing instructions:
    1. Download both the ROM and a GAPPs (I use PA Gapps, but other GAPPs such as Slim Gapps will likely work as well)
    2. Reboot into recovery.
    3. Full wipe: Wipe cache, dalvik, wipe data/factory reset, clean to install a new rom.
    4. Flash ROM and GAPPs.
    5. Reboot into system.
    6. Enjoy your new Carbon experience.

I guess I was wrong about a one off... My final unofficial build of CarbonROM has been uploaded. Admittedly, this build is a minimal update and you may not notice any obvious changes, but there may be some changes behind the scenes that may correct an obscure issue, or not. As always, if you have any issues from a dirty flash, please try a clean flash before asking for help. Thank you.

Looks like this may be a one off build. Team Carbon is currently working on porting Lollipop to their various devices, so they've put a code freeze on any KitKat commits other than bug fixes. Only 4 merges were made prior to the code freeze, but these merges don't seem to be overly important for our devices, so they'd likely not be noticeable even if a new build was made. Also, there are reports that subsequent changes to repositories may have broke the build for KitKat, at this time, anyways (I can probably fix this in my build, if necessary). I'll keep an eye on gerrit for any useful bug fixes being merged, but until that happens (if it happens), I'll likely not do anymore builds for KitKat.

I haven't been able to find any definitive reports of problems with flashing from TWRP 2.8. I use Philz and haven't had any issues with flashing this, or any other ROM. Have you had this issue with any other ROM? Have you tried flashing the official t0lte CarbonROM? My only other thought, right off hand, is to try a different recovery, but I know that isn't always such a good option. I'll keep an eye out for a solution and I'll let ya know if I find anything. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
