Question : I haven't rooted the phone yet- I know I have to use CF auto root - if I do a Nandroid backup of the stock ROM, flash a custom ROM and decide to go back to stock, can I just restore the backup of the stock ROM, or do I have to download and flash RUU's and stuff ?

When I rooted my ex-HTC, I forgot to backup the stock rom, thats why Im asking

Nope....juzt restore ypu stock nandroid as you would any other backup
