That's what I figured. So, anyway, the cm12.1 nightlies in this thread should all have a working GPS. Most nearly everything else seems to be working. Only notable exception I can think of is Netflix, and that's not much of a loss, at least for me. There are a few other problems, all of them minor, from my point of view. Read back a few pages and you'll find most everything that people have been having problems with in the last week or so. I've been using it as my daily phone, and I like it a lot.
I guess maybe it was just an oddity but I was messing with the maps and it was saying I was in a different location. I had locations enabled too. I checked it again today and it seems I'm in the right location so maybe it is fine. I just know I'll need it tomorrow so hopefully it works fine.

I use GPS and maps every day, sometimes for hours at a time, for my Strava bike ride tracking app, and it works, almost flawlessly. Every once in awhile there'll be some weird anomaly, maybe once or twice a month, but generally it's spot on. It does take a minuute or so to find your location after you reboot, especially if you're indoors where it can't easily see the satellites. But I've been really quite surprisingly happy with it

I'm very happy with it too. I've been running CM12.1 with Xposed as my daily driver for quite some time.

The only issue that gets on my nerves is the Bluetooth audio bug which seems to be a Linux kernel issue and will hopefully get fixed in the near future.

Sorry if I've re-hashed the obvious, just wanted to post a temporary download link for any interested parties. (See link at bottom of this post.)

...

[/COLOR]Does anybody know where I can find the latest philz touch recovery, philz_touch_6.48.4-i605.zip?

...
xda thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2552655

leads to this at the download link...
Hello,

Unfortunately, as of this time, the main portions of goo.im have been disabled. Due to a finance issue, our CDN account has been suspended, and all files stored on it are effectively non-accessible. Due to some RL issues on my(Alexander)'s part, once goo started actively losing money 6 months ago, I had changed jobs a bit to help support goo. Unfortunately, this wasn't enough combined with some other issues that crept up on me. Due to this, I'm formally shutting down Goo. There is an offer in to take over the files and hosting from a generous sponsor, however, until the financial issues are sorted out, they are unable to adsorb Goo. It's been my pleasure to serve files for you all for the past couple of years, and I wish everyone good luck into the future.

-- Snipa/Alexander Blair

If you have picked up a sponor account within the last two months, please reach out to us if you'd like a refund. It may take some time, but we'll do our best to get these processed and sent out. -- Thanks for everyone who's supported us over the years.
SO.... The goo.im repo is "in flux" at the moment. In the interim for any GN2 folks looking for the latest PhilzCWM zip, here you go:

http://tweakedrom.com/Other_Files/Note_2.php
(there is a download to the latest zip that was available (v 6.48.4), with MD5)

5/27 nightly?

Installed the 5/27 nightly this morning, and my phone keeps err'ing: "Unfortunately Google Services has stopped" ... or something like that. Anyone else having problems with it? I'm going to try reinstalling the previous nightly....

PS: the error wasn't constant, just maybe half a dozen times in the last 6 hours....

PPS: reinstalling 5/26 was even worse! Went into some horrid boot loop: optimizing apps for the usual 10 minutes or so, then rebooting, then optimizing, then rebooting.... Finally pulled the battery and got into recovery and restored the previous backup.... It's operating, but I just got the "Unfortunately Google Play services has stopped" error again. Arghhh

It could be your GAPPS. You may need to see if there is a newer GAPPS available. Sometimes even a few days difference can make a difference. Good luck!

Have a good one!

Thanks. I'm reinstalling the 5/27 nightly. If that continues to loop, I'll check the gapps repo. I've got, I think the one from 5/23 or so, from:

http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps

Hmm, nope, nothing later there. I've got gapps-5.1-2015-05-23-24.zip. So, if the reinstall doesn't work, guess I'll try a different gapps. I've got one labeled gapps-5.1-arm-2015-05-03-16-32-37.zip. That one seemed to have been working pretty well for several days.

PPS: so 5/27 reinstalled, and I'm getting that "Unfortunately Google Play services has stopped" error really frequently. I'm downloading the older gapps right now and will try reinstalling with that....

I'm running the 5/25 nightly and it is running wonderfully. It even fixed my Bluetooth issues. :D

Well, I might try that. I'm downloading the 5/28 nightly now. I'll see if it fixes the "Unfortunately..." errors.

PS: 5/28 looks excellent so far. I'm using the gapps-5.1-arm-2015-05-03-16-32-37.zip and the nd7_radio.zip. I was going to say I haven't had any "Unfortunately Google Play services has stopped" errors, but just as I was about to type that, I got one :(

PPS: Just looked at the comments in the Play Store about Google Play services, and it looks like I'm not the only one getting that error. A lot of angry comments from people who just started getting the error. Hopefully google/android will fix it so it stops err'ing all the time.

No problems here. I'm on the 5/27 nightly with gapps-5.1-2015-05-23-24 and ND7 radio. Using TWRP 2.8.6.0 recovery.

Lucky! I checked the Google Play Store, and the Google Play Services app has tons of comments from people who are having the same problem, the "Unfortunately Google Play services has stopped" error. At least it's not just me. Hopefully Google will do something about it soon.

Guess I'll try doing a clean install. Maybe that'll help. Arghh!

Sorry if this has already been answered but I haven't been in the N2 threads in a while...I gave this phone to my son. It is on CM12.1 but I recently noticed it is not reporting internal storage space properly. Is there a fix for this? I noticed this was an issue on some other devices and there was a flashable fix. Thanks for any help.

Hello, I have an i605 and have been using CM12 since it has been released and really like it as a daily driver. I have tried many different ROM's all using CM12 as a base and all, without question have had this same issue.

At least once a day (time of day varies) I will pick up my phone and turn on the screen (which button I use makes no difference) and it will be black, I see that the backlight is on but the screen is black. The home button does nothing, swiping left or right does nothing, the status bar shows up just fine, I can swipe down and see notifications and access the quick launch but if I try to access anything, it just returns me to a black screen. The only way I can get out of it is to reboot.

I am currently running the June 16 nightly with the kernel that is bundled with it. I did try a different kernel before (I cannot think of the name right now) but the problem remained.

I have tried googling this issue to no avail and I haven't seen anything here on the forums.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I am looking at getting my old I605 up to CM 12.1. I noticed it says that the pre-reqs are to have a KitKat Recovery. If I remember right I am running CM 11 on the device. Can I just update CWM through ROM manager or will I need to flash the latest recovery using ODIN?

As for the Gapps, do I just download the latest from here or do I use a specific Gapps package?

Also, how is the reliability of the latest nightly? Any specific bugs I should know about?

Thanks in advance!

To make it easy on yourself, if you are already rooted download flashify from play store and let it install a recovery for you (img recovery). You may need to update modem and radio to ND7 for new wifi to work but maybe not. The package if floating around in bean thread (updated modem and others).

Gapps I use http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/tk-gapps-t3116347 or http://104.236.22.120/index.php?device=gapps/lollipop for newest gapps (5.1).

As for stability haven't used this rom in a few weeks so I am not sure what is working or broken or how it runs overall.

I am not sure what the problem is but it appears that I don't have root access...
I clean installed the 7/4 nightly an installed.. I have supersuersu installed but when I run it it says the binary is outdated.. When it attempts to update it always fails and says reboot and try again .
What am I doing wrong?

SuperSU & or the SuperUser apps are not required. Go into developer options and enable root access there :highfive:
