Not liking 4.1.2 (no fault of OP) as it has broken the ability to use several of my apps (equalizer, etc). 4.1.2 also burns through my battery about twice as fast as 4.1.1. Before I flashed 4.1.2 via TWRP I did a complete system and data backup of 4.1.1. My question is this: Can I flash my 4.1.1 backup via TWRP now that I am on 4.1.2? I would prefer to stay on 4.1.1 which performed better. Thanks!

Equalizer is working fine for me and no problems with the other 96 apps I have. Maybe try to re download the rom and dirty flash before going back?

Thanks for the reply. There are several apps - specifically Speaker Boost, Music Volume and Amazon Mp3 that do not work on 4.1.2. In researching, it seems these apps are not working for anyone on 4.1.2. Samsung changed something that will likely make these apps never to work again (some kind of exploit they were using). Also - the battery life is noticeably worse on 4.1.2. I would rather just use my nandroid backup from TWRP to go back to my 4.1.1 backup. My main concern is whether that will brick my phone as I know sometimes OTA's and new kernels are not able to be flashed back to the previous versions. I have considered doing a reflash of the beans 4.1.2 or even doing a factory reset of 4.1.2 then using Titanium to reinstall my apps. That being said, I was happier with 4.1.1 and would prefer to just flash my nandroid backup that I made of that if possible. Again, thanks for your input and help!

I really don't know about flashing back to an older version. I'm pretty sure you will be ok though.

Has anyone else reported issues with incoming calls while playing music? It happens every single time. I can hear them, but they can't hear me. Then sometimes when I end the call, the music resumes playing through the earpiece instead of the speaker. Never seen anything like it.

Flashing back is entirely possible...as long as you have a backup it wont be a problem. It is similar to flashing an aosp rom because those are 4.2.2, and going back to touchwiz, which is 4.1.2...just not as extreme...but just an example

I'm still getting OTA update notifications after updating to this one - is that because the bootloader is still old? Any way for me to turn off OTA updates? thanks!

After I unlocked, first I flashed Jellybeans 16 but Lightflow didn't work with it and that's vital to me. I need the repeated sound notifications if I don't clear the notification right away. So I flashed Bean's 4.1.2 stock deodex. Lightflow works. The ROM is smooth and fast as lightening. All my previous apps from 4.1.1 stock rooted setup work well, no hiccups.

I like having the deodexed rom so I can easily flash mods. Plus it's rooted and my apps made for root run fine. Deodex and root are reasons to unlock even if you just want to run stock 4.1.2. Plus now even if Verizon changes the bootloader in the future so it can't be unlocked, my phone is already unlocked and therefore can take custom roms or mods whenever I want to flash them.

With these stock roms from Beans, now is the time to unlock and at least run the deodex version of this rom. Or even the odex version for the same root access and future proofing.

[Remember that flashing either of Bean's 4.1.2 stock roms don't upgrade your cellular radio (the "Baseband") in Settings-About to VRAMC3. The old VRALL4 baseband works well for me and I'd rather not fix what ain't broke, but if you want to flash the VRAMC3 baseband see the second article by Beans in his 4.1.2 stock rom thread.]

I would recommend this ROM to anyone. I've already made my donation to Beans.

What/How to use these OP features?

Beans listed these as features for the OP ROMS:
•Rooted
•insecure boot.img
•BusyBox
•Zipaligned
•Deodexed
•Removed Cd installer
•Init.d support
•adb as root
•Bash
•Nano
•Wifi Toggle

I'm know what most are about but can someone explain:
•adb as root

I thought stock rom already had so what's new with:
•Wifi Toggle

How would you start:
•Bash
•Nano

Thanks.

My bad I guess I didn't explained myself what I meant was odex or deodex?

With this phone the old x is faster than y is imo obsolete.
So il put it this way. If you never want to mod or install modded apks then odex is great. If you think you may want to tweek some things in the future go with deodex.
To break it down apps are two parts. The .apk and the .odex "deodex"ing a rom places the .odex into the .apk for easier modification.

Flashing this will not cause you to lose root, hence the " Stock Root Odex/Deodex" in the thread title :)
