FYI, security patches are no longer merged by LineageOS Team for LOS 14.1 since July 2021.

@Eric_Lev you can pick commit for lineage gerrit, cm-14.1 enthusiasts still pick related security patches from higher android versions

they can't be termed official (as CVEs don't have nougat in affected list) but still if the code is same, that means the issue is there in Nougat too.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Root is not included by default on LineageOS 14.1. You need to install an add-on via recovery. You only need to install this once. You can download the SU add-on here
After installation go to Settings>Developer Options>Root access and set to Apps only or Apps and ADB.

LineageOS comes with LineageOS Recovery by default, if you don't like it (like me ) you can flash alternative recoveries using IsoRec. You really need 1GB /system partition. The smallest build-configuration is larger than 512mb. You can use ODIN, but you can also use Lanchon's REPIT.

There was such a question, can anyone know. rINanDO has released 2 los 14.1 builds for twrp 3.3.1-1 emulated storage. The version from 20210524 gets up without problems, but the more recent 20210701 with a clean installation constantly encrypts the data section. Maybe there are some considerations?

I'm also wondering that is the exact difference between these 2 versions, because both have the April 2021 security patch.

What I found out is that going into the AFH folder where they are placed, you can find a magisk boot for both versions-the one for the May build is a pretty basic kernel, the other one from July has extra features like voltage control, overclock to 1.4ghz. However that boot also works on the older build from May.

I have tested the build from May for a pretty long time with it's corresponding kernel and can confirm that it is very stable. Now I will test it out further with the OC kernel. From quick cpu throttling test I noticed ~10-15% performance improvement with the processor clocked at 1.4ghz, while cpu temperature is still safe with the copper heatsink mod. Although going any further than will cause damage because of the high voltage rather than high temperature.

Do you also have a how to to install Magisk on this build?
