That's all just a workaround and not actually fixing a bug (or the bugS), which is(/are) present...

Why is Chrome the only browser you wish to use, the alternates at least work. Not really workarounds, just different applications available to display the same HTML code that Chrome does anyway.
It is your choice, but at least you have options, until arco finds and fixes the problem that Google has created.

Well said @BeeJ1109 plus, firefox has lots of great add-ons and better cookie control than Chrome.

Even if I use FireFox or whatever,...
If you can not use some of the most-spread standard-apps (even an internally installed one, like Google Search) and HAVE TO use another one, that simply IS a workaround!

It IS a bug in the ROM, which you are solely working around and that is a fact!

This bug is likely to cause issues in other apps as well, hence your workaround might be useful for Chrome and Google Search, but not every incompatible app.
The only REAL solution and not a workaround, is an actual fix of the bug!

do you use gapps, microg, root, nothing?

otherwise you can try to flash the latest firmware and afterwards the lineage rom.

Just return phone back to STOCK ROM download from Sammobile, use latest ODIN and USB cable on PC.
Will restore phone back to normal with working MODEM.
Install TWRP v3.4 Root with Magisk, using Boot.img extracted from OK Stock. Patched by Magisk 20.4. Reflash Custom ROM, after factory wipe, using TWRP. MODEM will still be STOCK on new LOS 17.1 ROM.
LOS16 and LOS 17.1 WORK Great, both very stable on my i9195T phones.

My only issue is the D/L 10 Mbps and U/L 5 Mbps speeds very slow compared to other devices that are D/L 54Mbps & U/L 19 Mbps. Need to compare my Stock 4.4 i9195T, that will be same MODEM being I9195TDVUCOE3. STOCK D/L 45-52 Mbps. U/L 18-19 Mbps. So cannot understand the great difference.
Same Device, Same Baseband or Modem, Different ROM.

Internal SIP client: cannot, because second selection only lists SIM cards

I have the i9192 with the currently latest ROM. I have to SIM cards. I have defined some VoIP accounts in the internal SIP client (cf. http://wiki.ezuce.com/display/sipXcom/Android+Integrated+SIP+Calling). I've set things up so that the dialer asks which outgoing account I want to use (which SIM or SIP). As on the LOS 15 ROM I used before, I get a selection menu with all my accounts and select the wanted SIP account.

Then, it again lists a selection menu, but now only with the two SIM accounts. Selecting a SIM then calls with that SIM instead of with the SIP*account selected in the first instance. This did not happen when using the LOS 15 ROM.

The two selection menus have a different appearance: the first follows my style (dark background), the second does not (gray background).

• Is this a known issue?
• Is there a spurious setting that I've missed?
• Has anyone successfully used the internal SIP client? (With single or dual-SIM variants.)

P.S.: I can't seem to properly include the images…

Well, I'm going to stay with 17.1, as this is the only real issue that I've encountered. I should be able to circumvent it with a dedicated client. However, can you confirm that 16.0 does not have this behavior? That would be useful to know.

Is there a tutorial on how to do all of this? I have a Samsung S4 Mini i9190 phone and I ponder over the opening post of this thread as I literally can't fathom at how to do this...Is there a step by step tutorial? Anyone know where to point a noobie like myself to go in order to figure this stuff out? I have zero experience with jailbreaking/rooting/installing custom ROMs. However, I DESPERATELY wish to upgrade this phone from 4.4.2...I feel like I'm so close to accomplishing that by being here in this thread finally after going through SO MANY weird websites and youtube videos...yet still...I feel so far from the goal. I have to accomplish this ROM installation! I am so tired of my phone being unable to run modern apps due to its outdated 4.4.2 OS...I'm so tired of how slow the phone is...And I do not wish to get a new phone because I absolutely adore the smallness of the S4 mini<3 It's an absolute travesty that Samsung discontinued making tiny phones. Alas, I digress, any feedback is immensely, immensely appreciated<3
