Have you tried the microG version?(...)

Why not? I'll give it a chance. I wonder if the problem is with the device itself or if a modem for a different region might be better suited
i have that problem tooThe last upgrade causes a new behavior of my legendary S4 mini that I can't correct; I proceeded to 4 reinstalls from scratch to be sure I didn't make any mistake.
The SIM card is correctly recognized at each new installation, but at the next reboot, it is not the case anymore.
I don't get the prompt to type my pin code. I have tested activating airplane mode, cleaning the cache, dalvik cache. Including removing and reinserting the sim card.
Finally I discovered that reflashing LOS 18.1 (over previous) solved the issue and I found momentarily (until the next reboot) the use of the phone and data.
Please, this solution is not practical at all, do you see something better to do?

Yes, it feels like magic. I absolutely love it! I'm using it for a similar purpose as you do. It's incredible that it has such flagship features like NFC, AMOLED screen, IR port etc. and the fact that these parts function on this ROM. Thank you @arco68 !@arco68 I just registered to this forum to thank you for your work, I installed the rom and absolutely everything worked straight away on my s4 mini, I can't believe this phone is 10 years old and can still be used. I just ditched my phone for this one to reduce the time I waste consuming mindless content.
I also have this problem with I9192. It doesn't recognize SIM. There is a solution?
It's recommended to wipe everything before upgrading. Thanks a lot arco68 for your work !
I installed your build 16.0-20210116 on my phone there's maybe 3 years ago.
It will be now my first update.
Is there a specific procedure or I have to reinstall lineage from scratch ? (I already made backup of /data and /storage/emulated)
Thanks again to let alive these "old'" devices.
Don't wipe "evrything". System and data is enough. Firmware and twrp haven't changed much since lineageOS 16 release. No need to update. Thanks a lot arco68 for your work !

I experienced nothing like that using LineageOS16 (Android 9) or higher.Have you noticed any problem with it? Did you also install GApps? What about the speed, do you think your phone is slower or faster with 18.1 compared to 14.1?
One problem I have with 14.1 is that often when I restart the phone, some apps disappear from the screen, espicially the app "Real calc" but also some other apps. I have no idea why, but it is a bit disturbing. And also, the camera does not work 100%. Sometimes when a taka picture, It is very slow, and take the pictures several seconds after i pressed the buttons, and sometimes the flash is not flashin at the right time, sometimes I only get a half picture, and sometimes the picture becomes all white.
@arco68
in lineage os 18.1 I have issue With The sim Recognition The Sim Card Just Dont Work No Moblie Data
My Problem Its Not lineage os 18.1 all unofficial versions
Can Somebody Help
Model Of My Phone = GT-I9192
@Gamez Khan Do you see this right from the start (after booting), or does mobile disappear at some later point for you? I'm using a 9195 and sometimes have to switch to airplane mode and back (only rarely I've got to fully restart) to reactivate the connection.
In another device thread I read that `rild` may have to be killed/restarted, but I'm not sure whether our devices are comparable

Just out of curiosity: Have you guys updated your baseband as arco68 wrote here? https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...eageos-18-1-for-s4-mini.4189967/post-83918529I also have this problem with I9192. It doesn't recognize SIM. There is a solution?
I could try to change modem baseband, but wifi and other connettivity work well. I have I9192XXUBNB1
Hi I live in the UK and bought an international lte version ( serranoltexx ) 10 years ago and its running well on its second genuine battery. I haven't made a phone call in years and the sim is not recognized, but that's probably due to the age of the sim card, or maybe cos its a pay as you go sim, and they cut you off if not used.Hi.
I am thinking about buying an s4 mini and flashing lineage in order to get away from big phones. I have flashed ROM's quite a while ago (Moto X 2013 etc) so I am not a total rookie.
If I was to buy a S4 mini off ebay is there anything I need to avoid in order to flash it successfully eg certain software versions etc?
Thanks.
