Thanks for the quick reply. Hearing of modem issues for the first time, tried to google it and found a list of various i9192 modem files for several countries. Can you possibly give me some advice as to what file I should use?I'd hate to screw up my phone just by flashing something I have too little knowledge of. Also tried to see if I can find the modem version on my phone, but under "about" it seems there is nothing.

EDIT: Ok got it now. Baseband number can be found by going to "about" AND THEN clicking on "Adroid version 9". My baseband version is I9192XXUBNB1. Provided that the name changes with newer releases (not sure if that is actually the case), it seems like it is already the newest baseband.
Mine is I9192XXSCQA2

Well, I'm glad the issue of modem is brought up.
Ever since I upgraded from LOS 14 to LOS 16 (about 5 months ago) in my I9195 I've been having connection issues.
At first I thought it was LOS, so I upgraded several times (fresh install w/wipe), sadly with no luck. Phone kept getting SMS from 1hr up to 1day after the original message was sent. Network connection (cellular) would also be dropped and only after a restart would I get connection back up. Calls... well, I was lucky if I got one or two. Most of the time my number was unavailable for the caller.
I discovered the modem thread here in xda and tried flashing modem with different versions. Some would be ok for a day or two before dropping connection again (and only after a restart would I get network connection back up).
I was thinking, could my internal storage be dying somehow? Is my modem all of a sudden gone bad?
Next step was going to be going back to LOS 15 or 14, but I got kind of tired of flashing 1-2 times a week.
Would love to hear if anyone had similar problem, or just if anyone could comment.
TIA

There is a problem with the modem . No one was engaged in the modem ,did not rebuild it for a specific version of Android and device. There are only old modems that were on kit-kat . Need logs errors and putting here (can developers rebuild a new modem for all three devices..!

There is a modem l9191XXUCOA2 that comes in the latest firmware, but it is not perfect . The mobile data icon in the curtain turns on with some delay, the connection sometimes falls off from 3G to 2G or there is no network at all (a reboot helps). These are all symptoms of a non-full modem. Request to developers rebuild a normal modem !!!

By the way it could be because of the core too !

Still 3G Internet only with sim 1 , sim 2 only 2G. Dear arco68 ! Please pay attention to these errors and correct them if possible !!!
You should pay attention that the GT-I9192 Duos is not capable of 4g (LTE). It's hardware related, not software and it can operate only via 3G (Sim-1) & 2G (Sim-2).

arco, thank you for your great work!

Maybe it's only on this phone. Well all the same it is necessary to rebuild the modem (it will not prevent) and the kernel to look, something not so..

GPS also does not work adequately (helps again restart..

There are wishes: in the kernel, the CPU regulator should be translated into default performance, and the same thing should be done in the GPU, who can rebuild the kernel for the GT-I9192? Or give a link to the kernel sources for nine, including the kernel configuration.

Why do you want to run the CPU constantly in performance mode? That's just going to heat up the phone and make the battery go out way faster. If you REALLY want to do that, you can already do that by enabling performance mode in battery settings.

Adding kernel tweaks/hacks to manipulate the CPU and GPU frequencies is something I will never do, as it will compromise the general stability.
