do we use the same GApps from the cm9 nightly threads?:D
Yes, gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip, same as for cm9.

Actually I am thinking to add the gapps into the ROM. Should be no problem for me, because my ROM is only for devices that have Google Apps license (different to CyanogenMod which supports devices that do not have Google Apps originally.

a) Coming from cm nightly it should be ok to go without fullwipe. Just make a nandroid backup to be sure and I would recommend a cache and dalvik-cache wipe.

b) If I am not complete wrong the nandroid backup includes the kernel (boot.img). So a nandroid backup of your GB will bring you back without problems. I have not so much experience on the Galaxy Note (own it just 2 months now), but I switched often between HoneyComb and IceCreamSandwich on my Galaxy 10.1 tablet without problems just using nandroid backups.

New Version ready.

Ok, some updates here for my Android ROM build from CyanogenMod sources.

Changes in version 0.4:
  • Removed CyanogenMod stuff:
    • CyanogenMod wallpapers
    • LiveWallpapers
    • CyanogenMod Statistics
    • Profiles
    • ROMManager
  • Google Apps included in the ROM. No more need to flash Google Apps separate. Included GMail and YouTube (in data folder, so they can easily be updated).
  • Wipe of cache and dalvik-cache recommended, otherwise you might see a FC of Settings after reboot. No big issue, it will happen only once.

More stuff to come in the next version. Just be patient, I can only test on the weekends.

Changes between Ganbarou GT ROM and CM9 ROM:
  • Bootanimation
  • Wallpaper
  • Extended apn-conf.xml to include Softbank Japan APNs
  • Changed gps.conf to have more AGPS servers
  • Full working Polaris Office from stock ROM
  • Full working Samsung Apps from stock ROM
  • Added Titanium Backup and ROM Toolbox

I want feature X?
Let me know what you want and I will see if I can do it. You might not get it or maybe you will, this depends if I can do it and if I like it. This is the right place to ask.

First time installing Ganbarou GT-N7000 to your Galaxy Note, or coming from another ROM:

Upgrading from earlier Teamhacksung build or Cyanogenmod nightlies or Ganbarou nightlies (NOT Imilka's or any other build):
  • Copy Ganbarou ZIP to your internal SDCard
  • Boot into Recovery
  • Flash Ganbarou zip
  • Wipe cache partition and dalvik-cache
  • Reboot

may i request for a flashable zip of your latest kernel mate...thanks a lot
I am just compiling the kernel from CM9 source together with the ROM and I am not creating separate ZIP file for the kernel. The kernel I use is available on Github.

But you can take the boot.img file from my ROM and create an flashable ZIP file with it. It is not very difficult.

But as I just use pershoots kernel sources you can get it directly from his blog as well.
ok thanks...i saw earlier made a zip of the kernel and was thinking of asking it directly from here...i pulled the image from the rom zip but i preferred having a cwm flashable zip file...:p

It would be no problem to create a ZIP file with the kernel automatically during the build process. But as the kernel is not mine and I am not working on it at all I am not planning to distribute it.

I might include the creation of the Kernel ZIP file and distribute on request in the future.

Did you:

Wipe of cache and dalvik-cache recommended, otherwise you might see a FC of Settings after reboot.

Not sure if reflashing helps. I tried the ROM with a full flash of everything after full wipe and then just updated my old version with only wipe of dalvik-cache and had no problems in both cases.

Could there be any app installed that could try in the background to access settings? Did the problem happen even after you did full wipe before you installed any applications?

Sorry that I cannot give you a clear answer to your problem.

this message has occurred since the beginning ... when I did not have any app installed. maybe ... some Google's app which is built into the rom?
I tried everything ... and nothing is always there ...

-----------------------------------------------

does not bother me much ... it only appears when you first unlock the screen.
I use the phone all the time .. I have not have SOD ... or any problems ... I think the battery life is satisfactory. Sure, I can recommend this rom.

Ok, please keep me updated about this problem. Hope with the next release of the ROM and some updated CM9 sources it will disappear.

Thanks for being satisfied with my ROM.
