I'm afraid the MMS problem is unsolvable. The keyboard on the other hand, that should be solvable. I could root my wife's Galaxy S3 from Docomo and get it, but she warned, very very strongly, to not root her phone. I dare not touch it

Got a solution for the MMS

• Get Softbank MMS with Emoji from my homepage and save it on your phones sd-card.
• Get root-explorer or something similar and start it.
• Goto system/app and delete Mms.apk
• Copy the downloaded Mms.apk from the sd-card to system/app
• reboot into recovery, clear dalvik-cache and cache (maybe not necessary)
• reboot and enjoy MMS and S!Mail.

Maybe I replace the ICS MMS application in the next ROM with this one. It should work on non-Japanese phones as well, just without the S!Mail.

Regarding the keyboard, would it help if I invite you for a dinner in Tokyo to convince your wife?

Sorry, S Memo does not work yet. Is on my ToDo list.

Actually there are apps similar to s memo. One would be papyrus. And there is another called memo if i'm not mistaken.

Once I tried Papyrus I never used SMemo again. It is much better. In fact I don't miss any Samsung apps. Can anyone think of a decent Samsung app?

Version 0.8 ready for download

I am trying to update at lease weekly my Ganbarou ROM for the Galaxy Note. (aka GT-N7000). Today I release the latest update for this phone. The update includes sources to the latest RC1 release from CyanogenMod CM9 and my own upgrades.

Changes in version 0.8:

• Updated to latest CM9 RC1 code.
• Updated to latest CM9 kernel.
• Changed to different MMS application.

Version 0.9 online

New update for the GT-N7000 aka Galaxy Note. Using latest CM9 and AOSP sources. Tried as well to build different Email application using AOSP sources and the Samsung ICS sources. Please give me a feedback how it works. I am using the email app rarely, as I am a Gapps user.
Would be nice as well if I can get some feedback about the MMS application that I added in version 0.8. Anyone having problems with it?

Changes in version 0.9:

• Updated to latest CM9 code (RC2).
• Updated to latest CM9 kernel.
• Changed to different Email application.

Wipe just cache and dalvik. I will mention if a full wipe is necessary!

Every time when I use this rom I realize how everything simply ... installation, setting ... everything.
Definitely, the most stable rom CM9 also quite fast and acceptable battery life.
MMS works great ... in both directions ... I have no problem. :good:

I have a problem, do not know whether anyone else has a similar problem. The text messages have not a picture recipient / sender.
Worse, the field where it says name of the recipient / sender writes a phone number only, without names. In the settings there is a message box where this problem is solved but, for me, has no effect whatever I choose.
How can I solve this problem because they do not know the numbers by heart all of my contacts?

I get the problem with the picture as well. Not sure why.

But I can type names in the upper fields and it lists me without problems the phone numbers.
