Learned the hard way that other kernels don't work due to wifi module being different. Trouble is - the Fugumod kernel is significantly smoother than the one included here.
Any chance the kernel specifically can be optimized to match the apparent performance benefit or even swapped out for the Fugumod kernel?

Installed on Build 3, now on Build 4...can confirm the issue with the data connections not turning blue. Dont think my connections are messed up...just dont think they turn blue.

but it seems that the perka BatteryMOD broke the HSDPA icon (for me).

If your after a smoother experience cm7 is still probably better at the moment.
This port isn't at the stage of making small tweaks to improve performance, they are bug finding/fixing atm and then I guess they will be concentrating on implementing mainline cm changes. Once cm9 is released I'm sure custom kernels will get released, but I doubt that kind of thing is a priority right now, if you know what I mean..
While this port may be stable enough for some users to use everyday (it is for me anyway) it is by no means a finished product and changes might require you to wipe everything or bugs might crash things etc..
But yes I know ICS is teh awesome! and going back would be sad, but have patience big changes are coming

hmm, still no html5 gpu acceleration.... speedreading results are very poor. It has only one fps with this build. onecosmics is at 5 fps, wp7 is at about 30 fps and modern iphones can do even more...
Is this because android 4 won't support it better or isn't html5 accelaration activated yet? Couldn't find more info witj google, sorry for asking again.

I just flashed build 4 with gapps 5.1 and now I cannot add my google account. I have wiped cache and dalvic cache to no avail. help?

Yeah - I'm loving teh ICS - shame performance isn't (yet) on the list of things to do. Much prefer this build than the other though. Seems more complete. More patience!i dont know if its a bug or feature but its there in previous build (im currently on Build 3)
It's an ICS feature, you can view notifications on lockscreen..
Sd card support is getting worse every release, it should finally become the main issue to fix... every song/pic is there 2 times, ofc just 1 works. I unmount and mount the sdcard which makes all the music players FC. Reinstalling them makes the song come up 3 times... Its really driving me crazy as i listen to music a lot.

Notice the USB doesn't connect to DoubleTwist music player from PC. It Says The Android is connected in an unsupported way. choose Mass storage mode.
But the thing is I have tried every mode to sync over USB. something to do with connection. Also when transfering file over to sd/external the transfer is much slower than before on gingerbread..
EDIT: Hang On it just connected to DT all of a sudden... Lol
EDIT AGAIN: the all of a sudden connection was air sync not over USB. so still not working!
EDIT: BUT! Alot of the tracks that are listed in DT say (FILE NOT FOUND) and can not play.. (over air sync on pc)
HHa, Another thing is it's saying my internal card is full but its not. And went to take some picture but it told me no more room on SD card???
the conection is mtp which doubletwist does not support you will need to use airsync. ask DT about it. http://support.doubletwist.com

Google Apps Fixer will fix your problem with not being able to add Google Account or Calendar Sync, but will also reset your Google Apps data. Only flash if you're having problems. If Google Apps Fixer does not work for you, do a factory reset from CWM (or Android Settings) and do not restore system data via TitaniumBackup.

Installation
- First time flashing ICS to your Galaxy S (or coming from another ROM)?
- Root your device and install ClockworkMod Recovery.
- Reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo
- Do a Nandroid backup!
- WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
- Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
- Optionally install the Google Addon
- WIPE again or Calendar Sync will not work.
- Do a Nandroid Backup!
- WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
- Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery

Install the latest build and gapps and gapps fixer. If it still doesn't work, wipe your data.
App X isn't working!
Check the list at http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1402210 (unaffiliated with teamhacksung) first and check if it works on other ICS phones. Most likely, it's the application's problem, not ours.
Can I mount the phone as mass storage via USB?
Starting from BUILD12, mass storage is the default configuration (might not apply to existing installations). The below command can be used to change into USB Mass Storage mode. USB Mass Storage mode is always used in recovery.
If you want to switch to MTP mode useCode:setprop persist.sys.usb.config mass_storage,adb

You may flash modem packages designed for CM7.
How do I take a screenshot?
The screenshot taking function is built into ICS. Hold volume down + power.
Can I use CM7 kernels?
No, the kernel has modifications to make graphics, camera, data counter and data limit work.
Can I disable LED Notification?
Yes. Untick Settings -> Display -> Pulse notification light.
Maps keeps asking me to sign in even though I'm signed in!
Ignore the sign in dialog and pull down the notification menu. Answer the request for permission. Do this a few times and Maps will work.
How do I enter Galaxy S Settings (Device Settings)?
Type "am start com.cyanogenmod.AriesParts/.AriesParts" from adb. Or starting from BUILD 7, it is available as an icon in your launcher.
How do I enter service mode?
Type "*#*#197328640#*#*" into the dialer.
Is there a Captivate/Vibrant version?
A captivate build from the same source (but with captivate config) is available here. We currently lack a developer/maintainer for Vibrant.
Does this work for I9000B?
No, the I9000B requires a different kernel configuration. A build for I9000B may be added later in the process.
What's working? Why is there only a list of issues?
Everything else not listed are supposed to be working (aside from the usual CM7 bugs). If they're not listed, please post so that they can be added to the list of issues. A list of issues is far more useful from a development standpoint.
Why am I getting notified that my data partition is getting full when I have 1+ GB free?
Your /datadata partition, a smaller partition, is getting full. System automatically clears the cache when the space is low. The problem with "low space" is that you have too many applications installing libraries in /datadata (which can be solved by moving the said app to SD). It's a Galaxy S-specific problem (with our sucky NAND) and thus a general solution cannot be implemented.

Run the following and datadata will no longer be used on next reboot. Your phone might become slower though.

Run "adb root" to restart adb in root mode.
Why is "Android OS" battery usage so high?
It's just a reporting change in ICS. Android OS now includes battery usage from more components than in Gingerbread, the actual battery drain is the same.
What is "Random Offset" during installation?
It's just a harmless message given as a verbose logging due to the new ASLR security feature in ICS. It is not an error.
(NOTE: Newer BUILDs might have it removed.)
What do you mean by "wipe"?
A wipe, unless specified otherwise, means running a "factory reset" from CWM Recvoery. This will clear all your installed apps/settings but will keep your /sdcard in tact.
A cache wipe is the wipe of /cache (which is mostly unused) and will not cause you to loose any data.
How do I get the latest version of Rom Manager without market?
If the bundled version doesn't work, update from http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/RomManager.apk.
How do I setup Rom Manager?
Menu -> Manual Flash Override -> OK -> Samsung GalaxyS i9000 (MTD) -> ClockworkMod 3.x+
