Hi everyone, i'm back and i've decide to start a my thread for my releases.
This ROM is based on arco's kernel, so no OV (for the moment).
I'm updating regulary from CM9 official repository and merging arco's work when it's necessary. So my credits go to all the Cyanogenmod team and arco especially.

For the screenshot and video you can refer arco thread

What's working:
Audio
Receiving and making calls
GPS
Compass
Proximity sensor
Wifi
Bluetooth
USB mass storage
HW accelerated gui
HW accelerated video
Camera
USB/Wifi tethering
BLN

Partially working:
FM radio (you can use Spirit FM Free with Audio->Method = "qdsp5v2 Altern", there isn't an FM Radio app in CM9)

Before you install CM9: Preparation (First three are optional. If you want to start fresh, these can be skipped)

  1. Install AppBak from Market, run it and save a list of all your apps.
  2. Install SMS Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your SMS history.
  3. Install Call Logs Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your call log history.
  4. Boot into CWM5 recovery. Make a full backup. You will need this backup later if you decide to go back to your previous ROM and data.
WARNING: Many apps will Force Close crash if you restore data from a previous ROM.

Install

  1. Use CWM5 or CWM6.
    For flashing with Odin: recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.tar.md5 | recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-ariesve.tar.md5 (Needs AriesVE.ops)
For using dd command to flash: recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.zip | recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-ariesve.zip
  2. Wipe data and cache.
  3. Flash update*.zip.
  4. Flash gapps*.zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM9 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
  5. Reboot phone.
  6. After you setup your Google account, reinstall the three apps from Market in order to restore most of your apps, call log and SMS history.
  7. Warning: Do not restore backup data of system apps!
    • If you restore a bad backup with cached settings in telephony.db in data/data/com.*.*.telephony it can break MMS.
    • It seems that restoring backups can also break Calendar sync.
Upgrades
Upgrades from previous versions of CM9 are the same process as install, except you do not need to wipe anything. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to even wipe cache and dalvik-cache when upgrading between CM9 versions. You only need to wipe if you are doing a major upgrade, switching to a different ROM entirely, or attempting to fix bugs caused by bad backups or corrupt app data.

Note: You can upgrade from arco's CM9 and vice versa.

FAQ
  • For recovery bootloop problem you should at this post
  • BLN feature recap:
    • It is activable/deactivable from Settings->Displays->Notification Light
    • Its timer is adjsutable from Settings->Device->Advanced
    • The timer settings is 1.6 seconds by default, i advice not to set it to infinite because whenever the light of keypad is turned on, the phone can't go in deep sleep.
    • There is no blinking support in it at this time, this is a raw porting of BLN for i9000.
  • No System Sounds UI:
    • Download this app
    • Set the system volume to maximum (7). You should hear the sounds again.

Woooaw maaan!!! This is grat!! I waited long but totally worth it! A great CM9 rom, with working camera (which is not upside down, quite fast, not fcs after every launch, WORKING 720P RECORDING YEAH WITH NORMAL PLAYBACK AND SOUND!!) I think I'll keep this as my daily rom (if it has a good battery drain). So long work behind this project, and now, you have (i think) reached the top, now, I think we can say, we have a fully functioning (FM radio - who cares) CM9 with working camera and 720p recording!! A hundreds of thanks for you, and the others (acro, oisis, and so on) who helped this project, and didn't let it to die!

@tomjadon,

yes cm9 ist very nice on the i9001, but there are still some bugs like, wifi tethering, usb tethering, data roaming etc. so i think it could be beta. Since Alpha 6 from arco, it runs very smooth.

So I be wait for other relations, abuot ex. battery drian. Arco rom is really god on this feature, but i think if your rom is based arco rom, battery drain will be the same. Great work ivendor - respect for you work. :)

BTW - ivendor, this is some chance to create a patch with camera, for non ivendor based roms, like arco rom? That's can help other developers to finish their work.

wifi and usb tethering not working?

wifi tethering only without any encryption, and usb tethering only with an extra app. So i use bluetooth tethering, that works perfekt.

BTW - ivendor, this is some chance to create a patch with camera, for non ivendor based roms, like arco rom? That's can help other developers to finish their work.

arco will release it soon, i use arco alpha 6 with camtest2 and it works great, only front cam is upside down, i think arco will correct it soon. The alpha 6 is great work. And that the cam works is awesome, too.

I dont think you doing your own rom instead of cooperating with arco will help us towards getting bugless cm9.
