Does someone has the same problem as me? It takes literally 5 minutes before my Galaxy has completed checking the SD card. It's really annoying. It does this with all kernels btw.

Use CM9 beta 4 by arco, it's only take few second to completed scanning SD card..:good:

Hmm maybe i should try that. Because i'm getting more and more problems with CM9 B5. Especially regarding to internet connection. Lots of time i just have to reboot the device to get my connection back :(

Try flashing the latest samsung rom to get your baseband updated. Then flash back to cm9 b5.

I Flashed This rom.

It is really nice looking but it lags a lot.
Is there a Kernel to flash which will help the lag problem?

I did follow the instructions for the rom flashing. I should mention that it is functioning, but it is less smoother than my old official gingerbread and needs much time.

For example, it takes time to open the recent calls list and sms.
But apps like Twitter are as slow as they were.

I had a cyanogen rom to my old Xperia x10 and it worked like a charm.

This one seems a little "heavy" for i9001.

Maybe I am wrong though.

Never heard of such an issue...I am also from India..bangalore... I am using xxkpm baseband...u can get it from my signature...try with that one...from many peoples observation, kpm is the best...try flashing baseband or entire ROM and then flash cm9.. report if you are still having issues....:)

I just installed the RC5.

There is one bug I found, which already has been posted here: Battery discharges after being fully loaded. So I woke up this morning with about 60% battery. This might be resolved by disabling WiFi...but this is not a real solution.

I read the according posts but it seems to me that noone has posted a solution. Does anybody know how to resolve this?

This is a bug related to the software/kernel. For some reason your phone stops recharging but your cpu keeps running at a min freq which prevents deepsleep. This causes battery drain. The only solution could be wiping battery stats and cache and try again.

Wiping Battery Status does not help, seems that this is a myth http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1795705

Does anyone have experience with a different kernel? Is this still an issue with CM10? This really bothers me...

You can try wiping battery status by battery calibration app, it doesn't hurt your phone.
Also you can download ds battery saver app to put your phone to deep sleep

I wiped my battery stat and installed ds battery app. If this helps, this might be something to put into the first post. Thx for the help. I will let you know if it works or not.

Hi everyone, i'm back and i've decide to start a my thread for my releases.
This ROM is based on arco's kernel, so no OV (for the moment).
I'm updating regulary from CM9 official repository and merging arco's work when it's necessary. So my credits go to all the Cyanogenmod team and arco especially.

For the screenshot and video you can refer arco thread

    What's working:
    Audio
    Receiving and making calls
    GPS
    Compass
    Proximity sensor
    Wifi
    Bluetooth
    USB mass storage
    HW accelerated gui
    HW accelerated video
    Camera
    USB/Wifi tethering
    BLN

    Partially working:
FM radio (you can use Spirit FM Free with Audio->Method = "qdsp5v2 Altern", there isn't an FM Radio app in CM9)

Before you install CM9: Preparation (First three are optional. If you want to start fresh, these can be skipped)

    1. Install AppBak from Market, run it and save a list of all your apps.
    2. Install SMS Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your SMS history.
    3. Install Call Logs Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your call log history.
    4. Boot into CWM5 recovery. Make a full backup. You will need this backup later if you decide to go back to your previous ROM and data.
WARNING: Many apps will Force Close crash if you restore data from a previous ROM.

    Install

    1. Use CWM5 or CWM6.
      For flashing with Odin: recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.tar.md5 | recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-ariesve.tar.md5 (Needs AriesVE.ops)
For using dd command to flash: recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.zip | recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-ariesve.zip
    2. Wipe data and cache.
    3. Flash update*.zip.
    4. Flash gapps*.zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM9 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
    5. Reboot phone.
    6. After you setup your Google account, reinstall the three apps from Market in order to restore most of your apps, call log and SMS history.
    7. Warning: Do not restore backup data of system apps!
      • If you restore a bad backup with cached settings in telephony.db in data/data/com.*.*.telephony it can break MMS.
      • It seems that restoring backups can also break Calendar sync.
    Upgrades
Upgrades from previous versions of CM9 are the same process as install, except you do not need to wipe anything. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to even wipe cache and dalvik-cache when upgrading between CM9 versions. You only need to wipe if you are doing a major upgrade, switching to a different ROM entirely, or attempting to fix bugs caused by bad backups or corrupt app data.

Note: You can upgrade from arco's CM9 and vice versa.

    FAQ
    • For recovery bootloop problem you should at this post
    • BLN feature recap:
      • It is activable/deactivable from Settings->Displays->Notification Light
      • Its timer is adjsutable from Settings->Device->Advanced
      • The timer settings is 1.6 seconds by default, i advice not to set it to infinite because whenever the light of keypad is turned on, the phone can't go in deep sleep.
      • There is no blinking support in it at this time, this is a raw porting of BLN for i9000.
    • No System Sounds UI:
      • Download this app
      • Set the system volume to maximum (7). You should hear the sounds again.
