The only think i got is None, Swipe, Pattern, PIN and Password??

Same here. Which was why I had asked. I flashed the leaked ics rom for the thunderbolt and I noticed the face unlock feature was there. But not on my tab. But back to this battery drain, now I'm starting to get the same weird drainage.

try the solution posted by astuermer. drain the tab completely (inside recovery) then recharge completely (while tab off) wipe battery stats. should be fine.

as for face unlock...maybe it has to do with language / region? try and change them and see if the option shows up? just guessing lol

Ok so I left the tab charging but I noticed the battery meter did not show up. The tab booted up at 96.% Hopefully this works.

I installed this ROM on top of my Stock HK HC 3.2
1. It seem everything works fine
2. Even I wiped all (User data, Cache and also Dalvik cache), after I installed this ROM, all my apps and settings (including wifi password, online bank user data etc) are retained

I think this ROM is good for update from stock ROM, not from mod ROM

About facelock.

I've seen several posts in the 10.1 forum (and this ROM is a straight port of the stock 10.1) also commenting that FaceLock / FaceUnlock is not included in the ICS.

Read for instance, or search for yourself.
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1701292

I also read that it's unsafe, e.g. that someone else might use a photo of you, to unlock the tab.
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?p=30288359

Finally, there is a package available, again on 10.1 forum, that will install the Face Unlock feature. Here are several posts talking about that...
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?p=30239026#post30239026
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1813469
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?p=30242450#post30242450

You might give that a try and see if it works on the 8.9 - I think it might.

Finally, I noticed FaceLock.apk added in safariking's mod of this port - although looking at the implementation of package mentioned above, that would not seem enough to actually get FaceLock implemented. You might try his ROM, or ask him if he plans to add FaceLock to his ROM.

PS: so it's strange to see that pseudoheld found this feature in the ROM, while no-one else has...

thanks for the screens... adds some certainty to what is otherwise a mystery. ;)

I don't think either that it can come over from a previous ROM (unless was somehow introduced as a user app!?). The installer script of KK's rom includes a format of /system, but it doesn't touch /data

I did two wipes and was coming from the CM 10 preview of jelly bean. No face unlock. But after my experience with face unlock on my thunderbolt, I can live without it.

Now back to this battery drain issue. So anything under 3700 is the starting point for me to do a battery calibration correct. I'm using terminal emulator and my current reading is

Still too early right? 3700 is only 4 digits and I have more than that...... Unless I am reading this wrong.

Hey. I would recommend that you post your battery issues in another thread, dedicated to that issue alone.

There are 2 very similar ROM's made by kaltt_kaffe, and they both have this problem. So discussion is running in both ROM-related threads, and in the "battery" thread => 3 parallel thread => a mess

recommendation: use this:

Thank you sir for the rom.. it is perfect! Now only hoping you have time to port this to JB! Checking this site everyday for that!

My wifi can't turn on during the first try as I wiped wrongly (not familiar with new recovery) but it works after i try with overcome ROM's recovery!

Not sure why quite a number of people having issues with batteries, my tab's battery life is excellent.

Same for me, already 2 days on battery with normal use, wifi, skype all the time on and still around 35% of battery remains, no battery drain at all

This is a clean port of the US P7510 firmware that was released very recently.

    For screenshot, go here: http://blog.apedroid.com/2012/08/official-ics-from-p7510-running-on-p7310.html

    Downloads
    Version 2: https://hotfile.com/dl/167367272/873eb0f/P7510XABLPL_P7510UELPL_for_P7310_v2.zip.html
    Version 1: https://hotfile.com/dl/167139991/1ccdcd2/P7510XABLPL_P7510UELPL_for_P7310.zip.html

    Changelog
Version 2 - Fixed low power mode charging animation. Changed all P7510 to P7310 in build.prop except fingerprint. Rooted out-of-the-box.
Version 1 - First release. The only things changed is kernel, kernel modules and one line added build.prop (to fix screen rotation).

    Instructions
    - Flash with Clockwork recovery (I use 6.0.0.8 from the CM9 thread but most versions should work).
    - Remember to wipe!
    - For me the first boot is with completely black screen but I can hear the boot sound. After a while it reboots and this time the screen is on and the bootanimation can be seen. No idea if it will do the same on all devices. Do not panic, just wait it and it should reboot (at least it does for me).
    - Compass does not work correctly, likely due to the different screen rotation on our device but it never worked in official 3.2 anyway so I guess we're used to it not working.
    - HDMI is 90 degrees rotated.

Everything done at your own risk, as usual...
    5
Version 2 now available in first post... (and no, don't ask for a v2 of the P7300 version, it's done but it'll take another 1-2 hours to upload)
    4
    incremental update v1 to v2

As I like to toy around, I did a compare of the v1 and v2 (both the 7500 and the 7510), and made a much smaller CWM-flashable zip, that will update v1 to v2. This is a 1,5 mb download, and not a 350mb download ;)

    tips
    - pick the right file (the difference is only in the build.prop and is probably cosmetic only)
    - flash from CWM
    - make sure signature verification is off (I don't know how to sign a zip :( )
    - no wipe needed (as far as I can tell) - if you have issue, maybe wipe cache.

PS: all credit for the ROMs goes to kallt_kaffe. I just made a very simple derivative, so not everyone with v1 has to download another 350mb.

enjoy, a simple thanks is appreciated ;)

PS: I tested the 7510-on-7310-update myself, not the other one. But it's identical in nature.

    -edit-
PS: @KK, I hope you don't mind. You did say earlier that we could tweak... :)

here are the md5 of all the files involved

very nice, will try it and give feedback soon. Did you use the 3.2 kernel or was it possible to modify it with the sources of the 10.1?
I used the ICS kernel source (GT-P7510_ICS_Opensource_Update2.zip) from Samsung and compiled it using the supplied samsung_p5wifi_defconfig without doing any changes. Seems like all the p5/p5wifi bits are in place in the p4/p4wifi kernel source.

I've tried to keep it as clean as possible. I'm sure others will root, deodex and tweak it later. :)

I might do one for the P7300 using the italian P7500 firmware if time allows.
    3
If i flash ics kernel on your cm 10 should it work fine?
I have not yet had time to test the new kernel with CM10.
