No-frill cpu is better by the way there is no need to flash a kernel in this Rom because of that good application and the built in kernel I set the I/o and governer to cfq and hotplug respectively min cloq frequency to 600 mhz and max to 1.008 ghz works great never set the max cloq freq to less than 1.008 ghz or the phone will have issues

Which kernel is best or compatible with this ROM? What's the difference? Because right now i'm with the built-in kernel of this ROm and i'm satisfied i am just curious why some people want to change their kernels....for what benefit?

A custom kernel will allow you to change default minimum/maximum cpu speed to values diferent from 300/600/800/1000 MHz (overclock or underclock). Our phone tipically can handle a maximum of 1300 or 1400 MHz.

Also, it allows you to change cpu governor, I/O scheduler, maximum screen off cpu speed, read ahead buffer size, enable or disable zram, or smartreflex, change cpu voltage table, etc (available settings depend on installed kernel).

In short, a custom kernel will allow you to fine tune your phone to get more performance and/or more battery life.

Be aware that stock lg optimus 3d bootloaders (included in stock roms and also in xbsall's roms) won't allow you to use custom kernels, it will produce a "security error" and the system won't start.

In order to use custom bootloaders you must flash modified bootloaders (aka wkpark's v1.25a).

i cant seem to find anything about this so here comes,

I cant enter download mode with v30c on my p920 with this rom from xbsa. Only with omap4 but that doesnt work because it shuts down after a while. so i do i downgrade to GB or v30a official rom? i already tryed to flash GB with the omap4 but it went down and now i cant turn the phone on. it goes off on the lg logo. how do i enter download mode?

Open Device Manger and Run simple tool and do all steps and see it well show you A drive if it show you install and Use usb_drv_windows in Simple tool folder (Taken from OptimusR instructions)

Yeah, basically i was thinking u did'nt flash the wkparks bootloader correctly. Well if u can see the LG grey logo during bootup then that means u have the wkparks bootloader.

Yeah, basically i was thinking u did'nt flash the wkparks bootloader correctly. Well if u can see the LG grey logo during bootup then that means u have the wkparks bootloader.

i do have wkparks. i know what it is. i just press power and up button and it oppens recovery and not download mode. i installed wkparks and still nothing.

Experiencing the same problem here too I suggest you to Google wkaparks 1.25 extract 3 to 5 times iincase something messes up I was trying a new method for it I was actually having the v30c kdz I extracted by lg970 converter and for the ap.bin and Fls I extracted by using a programme I came to know last night and after extracting it I got 7 partitions name 0-gpt 1-x-loader 2- u loaders 3- boot and system and recovery also as all were image files then I copied the boot.img into three of wkpark programms unsuccessful in the end so finally I have decided to flash the 28 b bigpartition boot.img as I feel that xbsall would have made this Rom on 28b big partition but he would have copied the whole system directory after extracting it from. V30c and replaced the system directory of v30 c and added some lovable apps in uninstallable directory where milaq's recovery flasher exist he has done a great job in designing this Rom based actually made the Rom work I was only thinking that how could I get the nuance voice control to work on 28big partition I did it by adding some selecting files in the lib,bin and framework directories and it worked so I am confident that the Rom is made on the 28bigprt and feel we can do that too only thing for the custom kernel to work use wkpark 1.25 for the bootloader to work I will try the boot.img of the 28 big partition to solve the bootloader issue and will tell everyone what happens only one request to xbsall how can I repack the files extracted from the ap/Fls file all the images back to ap.bin/ Fls I won't convert them back to kdz if he can help and yes I will share the whole experience on another thread if possible so can anyone help me convert the images back to Ap.bin and Fls format


And for the kernel every Rom has a built in kernel in this case we are having the 28 big portion stock kernel not the v30c kernel so guys we are having the jh and ph85 kernel flash them flash custom or stock ics bootloader from wkparks 1.25 or fastboot ur device from another recovery flasher that is installer de recover and enjoy the the whole Rom or it phone with the silver screen or wait for someone from everyone of us to resolve the security error issue and the silver fastboot screen so we will surely have that issue resolved dreccon had tried his best and have he thread on all this things u can view his threads it might help

Use official LG flash tool (download from lg.com).

There's a emergency recovery in the program menus, it will flash the latest firmware for your country and provider.

U should have used the v30 a kdz from LG 's firmware website used the lg970 converter and flashed with LG flashtool let it be u are on tv now then enjoy

It's worth it plz see If there is a single mention of my Rom I am sorry if u have any issue with me talk to me report my post to the moderators and plz check the the thread ph85 kernel for ur well being u don't play games I play shadowgun avatar backstab asphalt that is why I set it to 1.008GHz and my phone is working great and have a great battery life and yes every dev was a noob first except wkpark he came and he conquered and about xbsall I don't know who is he except for the ics port all respect to the great man and for u stop spamming and use of foul language do something good like macrosuper optimusRS dreccon Bernie defcomg and then tell me to shut up I will surely do that and plz check my joining date getting 39 thanx in one Month that's quite an achievement and wait for sometime there will be a big surprise from me just wait and watch
