You know who bought the iPhone? The freaking developer of the rom. I'm not even going to bother reading the rest of that post because I can already tell it is useless.

Yeah, I got that MikeyMike doesn't like Samsung anymore. That still doesn't help with my Bluetooth problem and Serendipity 9.4. I assumed you were trying to help and pointing me toward a post that explained how to fix the Bluetooth issue.

This all could have been avoided if you answered something polite, like: "A few posts back, the developer stated he wasn't going to make anymore Serendipity Roms. He actually bought an iPhone. ;) Try AOKP or Sho-Stock, they're good roms too."

But, no... instead you decided to be sarcastic
Have you read any of this thread... Like at all?
And this is the outcome of a sarcastic response. General confusion and irritation by both parties.

No I was seriously asking whether you had read any of this thread. Like you were SUPPOSED TO DO.

Thanks for the help, however, I did go back the past 4-8 pages (40 - 80 posts), and all it is is mindless drivel about someone who bought an iPhone and sold their SGS2.

If this was a -50 post thread, I'd read the whole damn thing, but since this is a 780+ thread, I am going to say this to everyone who responds to thread questions with "Read the thread!"

No one wants to search for a needle in a haystack.

If you came to my place and wanted a glass for water, I wouldn't just tell you "In the kitchen." Duh, that's obvious, everyone knows glasses are in the kitchen, and everyone knows their in the cupboard, the question is which cupboard, and which glass would you like me to use. As a generous host, I'd point you right toward a glass... heck, I'd probably go get a glass of water for you. That's courtesy. Not helping would be considered laziness. Unfortunately, there is no middle ground.
Mindless drivel? Thanks! Cool story bro!:D:D:D:D:D:D

Umm... you didn't read the part where I said:

Yeah, I got that MikeyMike doesn't like Samsung anymore.
I'm not giving you crap for not reading... it's just that you quoted it

Well, the standard rule of thumb on these forums is to answer questions with "Read the thread." And like I said before, some of these threads are a lot of reading... 780+ posts. That's just impractical.

The other thing everyone who posts in forums needs to know, is that most search engines pull up forums when people are looking for how to do things. In other words, if I Google (Yahoo, Bing, Etc.) searched for "How to put a custom Rom on my SGS2." I guarantee most of the posts are going to lead people here, which is only the first of a thousand step journey.

When you come to a forum, it's nice if people are willing to help... i.e. point you in the right direction, answer questions, and give advice. But the only response you ever get is "Read the thread." And I'm sure you can all agree, posts that say things like "Yeah, I getcha." or "Whatever dude." tend to make up a good 80% of the posts. So it is a bit like watching your girlfriend go shopping.

You're right I misread it. I thought you wanted another rom from him

Looks like we should just close this thread and let the q and a handle all future requests. I'll see if I can track down a mod. Thanks for all those who used/still use Serendipity you made it worth working on.

Thanks,
ChanceM

Dude we aren't asking you to read an entire thread. Just the past 10 or so pages at the very least.

I believe that he meant that he didn't realize I had bought an iPhone despite others knowing for several weeks... Not that he's actually late to parties. ;)
