One word

Thank you! :D I didn't know that word. Thank you! :)

There is a logical flaw if there is more than 1 img file in the img folder ...
Yes, there is. But it's either that or having the user rename the kernel to boot.img and putting it in IMG. Now, I don't have to tell you that doesn't work, do I? :p
Users want a quick and simple solution. This is slightly dirty, but it works. Users will just have to be told to only put one kernel in IMG.

I would rather have users learning these commands than create a batch script to make their life easy ;) :p.
I did toy with the idea of uploading a i_am_too_lazy_to_learn_fastboot.bat batch script. But in the hindsight a batch script for 3 lines of code seemed ridiculous..

I fully expect people who "flash ROMs" ,"h4ck phones" ,"brick warranties", "unlock bootloaders to installz kewl software" , to be CMD literate enough to type 3 lines of command or 10 words ...

Well, having looked at a lot of the ROMs, a lot of the ROM builders do all their work in Windows. So there are often a Thumbs.db in quiet a few of the directories in the zip-file. That's not the bad news. Though, it isn't exactly good either (takes up space, adds unnecessary files to the phone). But a lot of scripts... Obviously a lot of ROM builders, who use Windows, have NO IDEA what linux is or how it works. Hence my nagging about the busybox/toolbox and symlinks. A lot of ROMs even have a bunch of copies of toolbox named as ls, cat, etc. in /system/bin. And then on top of copying toolbox with all those names they symlink it all back to toolbox as well. No wonder so much space is wasted!
Some scripts even has the dreaded ^M. Which means they're just there for show casing.

So, expecting more from users than one does from ROM builders is asking too much. It's like asking people who know how to install Windows and surf the web to know what Syn-Ack is as well...

I do get your point. But... I think you, unnecessarily, would lose a lot of users that way.

And you have Kitchen Batch scripts to blame for that ;). Suppose there were no ready to cook batch scripts on Windows ,it would have prevented 100's of "cooks" from creating such "ROMs" ...

/
I was told before that the "install" method of Doppler is too complicated . And it might be driving away potential users...
My point is
I am not running a service or business to think about number of users.
This is an open forum. I uploaded my stuff. Learnt a thing or two.
If anyone want to use Doppler ,they have to read instructions and follow it. They can ask and clarify about commands on the thread.

Else there are 100's of other ROMs and kernels on this forum to satiate their thirst for "kewler software"

Yeah, heh, I remember one file I downloaded and thought about installing. It was a keyboard with a single file or some single thing like that. So, like I always do, I looked at the script file. Luckily... What the hey?! They had just copied the regular rom-script with a bunch of symlinking to toolbox. I symlink as much as possible to busybox (has more options, ls gives nice colours, etc). Had I installed that package the normal way it would have broken a lot of things for me.

I told them all that symlinking was unnecessary. The response? "It works on my phone, so you're wrong, and I won't change a thing just for your sake!". Great...

Yeah, I do wish the people who made ROMs at least knew LPI101. :p

But I'm happy for all the work people put in to these things. I rip things apart and build my own stuff out of it. :)
So to me it doesn't matter really.

And I am well aware of the old saying, "if you build something fool-proof they will build a better fool...". :p

Working great!!! :)

Everything is working perfectly - now! I just put in a bit of work into this today.
This is really wonderful ROM with Sony based... Your Kernel_Flasher really helps.. Thanks for your effort..:)
Came back to ICS after a very long time.. But still feel happy...

I can see lot of space available for apps installation.. but bit less free RAM(around 80).. Still the performance is decent.. Will give more comments later... Another important thing I feel is.. most of the default apps were uninstallable... Its easy to make our choice here :)

I just found two issues one is of less sensitivity of Proximity sensor and another is Light sensor on my LWW.. I added a fix for proximity sensor and it works fine now.. :).. But no help in Light sensor.. Anyway I don't care much about Light sensor... ;)

Another issue in call logs... when we have large call logs(500) and scrolling them fast towards old call logs... then during scroll the scroll bar again going to the top call log in the middle(I tried multiple times and confirmed)... not sure whether it is default issue in ICS...

One more issue in call volume... call volume is very less in my LWW both in loud speaker and phone mode... But other media volume and ringer volumes are very good...

Thanks & Cheers.. :)

I'm glad to hear you're not complaining this time. Not even a little! :D
Thanks for the heads up. :) - though I have no idea what you are refering to? If you are thinking about the updater-script (the thing that says "*camera" upon installation) then it has nothing to do with CyberShot. It sets execute-bit on a few files in /system/bin. Not sure if it HAS to be done, but rather than not finding any problems my self, changing that, and then everybody reports back on some problem I didn't find, I instead opt for the old, "if it ain't broken don't fix it".

If you do find a PROBLEM, as in "something that doesn't work (properly)", please let me know!

I m Not abble to boot this rom up it just stuck at sony ericsson logo. i flash kernel through kernel flasher still :/
Try a standard kernel first, so we can rule out whether it is the kernel or the device-files that are at fault.
Try Kappa for instance. Install (through kernel flasher, or your partition set up will make the phone refuse to boot), wipe, install ROM, device-files, and wait for it to boot.

Do anyone has similar problem:
xperia active, kernel from zip package, fresh install, as stated at first post.
Everything works perfect except one bug: keyboard doesn't activate. Even cursor is showing, but keyboard does not.

Another question: does the kernel supports ANT+ ?
As I tried is not, but I would like somebody to confirm.
Are there another kernel that supports I can use with this rom.

Thanks again for my daily rom

Try going to control panel and check that the xperia keyboard is set as active and not just google voice.

I don't personally have any ANT+ so I can't verify either way. All I know is that this is the regular Kappa kernel (with battery fix). So if it works in Kappa it might be some library missing here. I am not sure. Like I said, don't have it, can't tell 100% for sure.

Thanks again for my daily rom
Happy to be of service! :)

Can I use serajr tabbed systemui?
You can try. Copy the zip-file. Look inside it. There are some files in system/app called "systemui.apk" amongst other things. Copy the same files from the zipped helium-light over to the new copy. Rename it to sysui-backup.zip. If it doesn't work you can always flash back the sysui like it was and thus no harm has been done. : )

One major issue during incoming call!!!

Hi,

I am using this ROM for the past 20days. I can see one big problem with my LWW during call.. Some times when I got a call.. I'm not getting any ring sound(I am not in silent mode) Ignoring this and when I pick the call.. I couldn't hear anything from other side but the call got attended and timer is running. Only after restarting the phone I can get the ring sound again and could hear the voice. Very weird.. every day this is happening 2 to 3 times... Do any LWW users facing this issue?

Thanks.

Hmmm... That's an interesting error. I have not experienced this. Problem is, I don't have the same phone.
I'll see if I can find any information on what is going on, why and what can be done.

Try this, btw, go to control panel, audio, select a different ring tone, then ok, then select the one you usually use/prefer.

hey Verbato
Changelog new update plz

(update 23-july-14) ?
The regular one is the same one. Device files updated (I hade a script in the helium rom that changed build.prop, but I put that build.prop in the device-files package so it's not in system when the rom script is run. Gah! Silly me!).

The beta helium has quiet a few library files removed. That left quiet a lot of system space free. Probably could put pico-tts in there. I did add the sound-effects-thingys for walkman. No network-stuff for the walkman though.
I left all the files in library that are there in the "standard/regular" ICS-rom. I'm not 100% sure this is 100% safe, but I feel like 90% sure this should be ok. I'm running the beta package on my phone and it works fine. But YMMV. It is beta. Which means it is beta. Just to make sure I'm mentioning once more, it's beta. So it should work. But something might not.

Bugs:
1. framework. It's the original feather one. The text is not centered correctly. R3gi pointed this out to me. I've noticed, I just didn't reflect over it before.
2. Exchange. If you use some exchange-mail-address (i.e. hotmail) mail might occasionally flash some error. Too fast to hit ok. Too quickly to even make a screen shot of it. But it's there.

3. Not sure about this one. solairajesh says there is an error on LwW with the ring tone occasionally "falling out", i.e. not ringing. Does any one else experience this?

There are three versions of Walkman I can get working (at least in this ROM - also, not counting the old old old one).
v5 - this is the one installed
v6 - no visible difference that I can see, apart from the pull down player in SysUI only has play/pause and next. No previous track.
v7 - there are actually two versions of this one. They play, but... They don't do "next track" automatically. Several people have looked at, studied and torn their hair out over this version on the ICS. There just isn't any way in the smail-code for it to play next automatically. Whoever fixes this will be a legend to many...

Can somebody help with sharing the battery calibrator/100%bug fixer flashable zip that was linked to OP for the previous build? I mean if I remember correctly, there was a flashable zip, now I can't find it here, and I am having some real weird stuff with my phone/battery. It's not turning on. And when it is turning on, it's showing almost like 25%battery in offline mode, then if I turn it on, it shows NOT CHARGING (no red led) and quickly falls to 0% and shuts down again. Of all the experiences I have had with jelly bean/kitkat/ics/gb... this one started suddenly and I have no clue how it started and why. So it will be a great help if I could try that zip. Just blindly shooting. My device is doomed it seems, anyway :(
