look guys here are some guidelines based on my experience

1.use only gapps provided by wiki.cyanogenmod.com (link is in the first post)

2.use 3.0.1 because 3.0.0 doesn't work right

3.don't use rom manager to flash this rom

4.go to recovery by booting into it and manually format ALL partitions (except sd card, obviously) under the "mounts and storage" menu, also go to "advanced" and wipe dalvik (maybe even battery stats),rather than doing simple "wipe data/factory reset"

5.it doesn't make any difference if you flash gapps right after rom or later, worked for me both ways

Sorry girish07, but i can't to reply these bootloopings in my legend. I have just installed the rom (wipe data/reset factory, wipe cache , wipe dalvik cache , install room, reboot, install gapps-tiny) and it was fine. Try out the last CWM.

I have tried the exact same thing step by step as it is stated by you.
The problem remains the same

I am using cwm 5.0.2.0
There is 1 thing which i want to bring im your notice, that wenever i just flash the rom without flashing any gapps, it works completely fine. So there must be problem in gapps only.

And i just again wanna advice you that in your next release, use ics 4.0.3 i dont know but i just think that problem of boot looping is bcoz of 4.0.4

I succeeded in installing gapps at the tenth attempt.
Turn off GPS after flashing CM9 (It is enabled by default)
Use the full version of gapps, not tiny one.
If you catch bootloop try to flash gapps for the second time wiping the cache and dalvik afterwards.

I had no problem installing this ROM and I' using it, without any problem, from yesterday. I can't play local videos, but this is the only problem. The only serious lack is the camera, but this ROM is truly great for daily use.

Have you tried installing manually market and market updater from apks ? So you can use this normally and wait for an eventual fix in future versione.

About videos, mp4 formats with reasonables resolutions and framerates are showed fine, but it takes a little time in loading it.

Well, on my legend, even videos with lower resolutions than the screen are laggy. They skip a lot of frames. They don't take time to load, they start immediatly. All my mp4 videos were played perfectly on other ROMs. This isn't a big problem, I can live with it. Just reporting it.

Ah, I removed the Music app in the system/app folder replacing it with the new CyanogenMod music player. It worked for me, and the player is better.
I also tried moving Apex Launcher to system/app ( to insert widgets from the drawer. It isn't allowed when Apex isn't a System App ), and then I rebooted. Apex Launcher never started again.

I also benchmarked ( Quadrant Standard ) my Legend with ogo2's NewSense ( overclocked to 768 MHZ ) and with this ( overclocked to 787 MHZ ).

ogo2's NewSense :
Total : 499
CPU : 191
Mem : 875
I/O : 551
2D : 317
3D : 559

zeubea's CyanogenMod9 Alpha :
Total : 556
CPU : 631
Mem : 849
I/O : 483
2D : 235
3D : 584

Don't worry for laggines playing video, it is easily fixable (it is for debug level of graphic driver) and some codecs are broken (ogg vorbis I think). The point is that if someone writes 'video is not working' or similar I have to stop and check what t f is broken now ... only be a little more exact when reporting.

Can you post a link for CM music player? And how you replace it? I like that app more then this...

Sorry, I hadn't got that. I'll try to report more exactly. Videos aren't the main problem, and I'm not concerned. I reported my problem, that looks different from the problem you described. This is a great ROM and a great work and I wasn't intending to denigrate you, if you thought it.

http://www.seeingpixels.org/2012/01/cyanogenmod-9-music_16.html?m=1

It works only on ICS.
I had problems installing it, but you can try doing it just clicking on the apk. If it doesn't work, I renamed the apk to "Music.apk", deleted old "Music.apk" and "Music.odex" in system/app and then moved the new one into that folder. The buttons in the notification are customizable in the app menu. But I'm encountering problems with this app... it crashes when I try to play music imported from Google Music. ( using Music Importer ). I'm trying to solve them.
