[ROM][ICS][UNOFFICIAL] CM9.1 BETA8 for Legend [FIX Camcording] [DEC 7]

Hi all, just finished flashing Beta 3 so still at bare bones stage, so far 1st impressions are good and feels better than beta 2 my first Antutu score @ 806Mhz is 1858.

For those that use S2E, version 1.2.0 no longer works with this release, however the new version from the market, version 2.+ does work now, without the need to select mount ext3 to ext4. (this is for app/data/dalvik2ext support for those that don't know)

i got the same antutu score @ 768....sadly i can't overclock any more, because i encounter too many reboots at any higher clock speed.....i got most by using setcpu and setting noop for i/o and smartassV2 (or performance) for cpu governor

they are also good benchmarks, altough it is not so important 10 points above or bellow; it is better fully stabilty to 10 points of performance, I think. Anyway, gpu increased kernel are in previous posts and further we can to retake this.

This is simply great! Congratulations to a perfect job. I was really a long time hesitant to try (ICS) this rom on my legend, I always thought the HW is not strong enough, but its smooth its really good.
I agree also with your statement that stability is more important than 10 points of performance. Altough it would be nice if my legend would run stable at 767. Can someone recommend the most stable set-up at 767 for governor, zRam, Kernel Samepage.

similar to you, my cpu is stuck at 767 ondemand governor as its most stable. if i put it on 787 or more nothing good out of it. some game just wouldn't run at this speed...

not too sure about other governors. but if you some how you are using other governor and ended up cant pickup call as if digitizer was left out from sleep screen. a quick way to pick up call is to sleep the phone using power button and hit it again to wake it up and pick up the call.. but i meet this problem from the previous versions. cant say for sure in beta 3 as i just flashed this rom since last night. so far no problem with ondemand governor.

lol? I am sure you can record a "The Blair Witch Project"-like film with it. So, it is temp solution to camcording. Play with OC, governor, quality, frame size for gettin more lively recording.

As said before, wifi drivers are real headache. Legend is the more ancient device with semi-functional ICS, not about age, rather Legend is more ancient technologically than HTC Nexus and HTC Leo, having these ones Broadcom wifi drivers and Legend Texas Instrument (like Hero and Magic). This is an strong drawback and I see very difficult native tethering (so, if anyone can provide help with this, see the repository); really in 2.6.35 is not warranted the support for this wifi driver, and it was compiled and worked, but it could not having worked. So far I Know, it worked opengarden and open wifi. Abour flash, it is working too.

Installed Beta3 yesterday. Gave me a headache because of the backups I was trying to restore. Finally I did a new install yesterday evening and reinstalled all my apps fresh from the market. Ran last 15 hours at 600 mhz, which was doing very oke. Very stable but only 1506 score.

Overclocked to 806 mhz which straight away gave some troubles with apps, but no reboots. Went back to 787 mhz, 1763 score. Its is giving me a big smile . No problems. Exchange server is working oke as well. Going to make a fresh install of S2E and TB.

Strange thing is that the SD writespeed is higher at 600 mhz than at 787 mhz.

yes it works with 3rd party app, but i'm sure he asked about CM's "Torch" ( the one with strobe and death ray )....it can be accessed from notification bar or from app drawer...the notification bar thing is a killer

In my case the gsm operator is automatically selected, but I can't select what I want, the list is not visible, you get an error.
This behavior was present also in b2 and before, but I read something in the list of fixes in cyanogenmod related to this.
Is a problem with my network or something not yet fixed in CM?

Another curiosity ... zeubea changed something about wifi "staging wifi sleep".
this should solve the problem with wifi sleep or we need third party app like 'wifi timeout' also in b3?

Toggle 2g/3g on status bar seems to work in my case, maybe slow to reconnect, but does the job.

So far any improvement i try is decreasing the score. Therefore what you've done is the best compilation, no need to change. Thank you

Manual network search is still in error. I don't know if its a cm fault or porting fault but its never worked here.

Ouch! Yup, my post earlier is about ease of access of the notification bar.
I missed the wifi ap toggle and the led flash light toggle...

Well, I guess i can forget about wifi ap for good.

lol, love the way you describe our legend have ancient technology. It does sounds like a legend. For the pass 2 years using this phone. I only met 2 other legend user... guess we have rare HTC item. But now thanks to you. This baby have been enhanced in to +9 with glowing cyan aura.

It should be possible, but make first a backup with nandroid (cwm).
I did a cache wipe before I upgraded from Beta 2 to 3 without any problems.

Any1 else having problems with Google Play Store?

Since beta 1 (or 2) it only shows just a few apps in the lists (best new free, best free, best paid, etc.). Like 30 or something, instead of 300.

Nope never had issues.
I've always had a maximum of 500 apps showing up on my play store.

Not good news about OpenMax codecs

In a previous forum post, we indicated that we would look into this request and, unfortunately we are not able to support video codecs for ARMv6 OMX IL libs for Qualcomm's QDSP5 on MSM7x27. The architecture of MSM7x27 cannot support OpenMax video codecs for ARMv6 OMX IL on QDSP5 running on Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS).

We appreciate the feedback and will continually monitor this thread.
