I installed Beta5 the other day. Using the htcdev unlocking process was easy, acquiring root using supertools took a more than a few hours.

I fixed the wifi issue using WiFi timeout from google market place.

GPS is slow to lock though, but I don't rely on it so no problem.

SU issue I fixed using aelsharawi's straighforward process in post 1494 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31854634&postcount=1494.

All in, very stable and very nice! Much impresed and I'll be making a donation. Looking forward to JellyBean :)

Beta5, everything works except the youtube-app which restarts the phone from time to time (i dont know if you mean that with HQ-videos in the opening post, I did not have a choice to select HQ videos or any resolution in the app).

Overall, the videos in the youtube-app are very stuttery.

Hi everyone! I've flashed the rom over the previous beta 4 and everthing is running well, just wanna say that i have fixed the SU problem downloading the apk given in this page http://freeapkandroidapps.blogspot.com/2012/01/superuser-v30-download-apk.html reinstall it over the one installed on the ROM and, Yá esta!!

Hope that helps!! Greets!!

Edit: I got know that once this SU apk is install works fine but seem to ask for permission everytime i switch on Root Explorer or another apk that require SU permissions, so i followed the waterpolo indications because the issue that i'm posting is very annoyed but works.

Check your APN's to make sure they're correct for your carrier.

Hi,

could someone please enlighten me how wifi tethering works?
(I´ve read the first post and know that I have to use open garden - but this only works using bluetooth and not like the actual wifi tether function...?)
Is there a way to use *regular* wifi tethering?

No you can't use native WiFi teather there are no drivers working. Open garden worked in versions before beta 5 (I never tried beta 5) but you can't use encryption like WPA or wpa2 only open connection, but, you can setup authorized devices connection for WiFi connection.

Also stuck at htc logo

Same problem here. Stuck at htc logo even though I did full wipe. previous ROM was cm7 and that always flashed fine.

I was under the impression that CWM would refuse to install a corrupt .zip? On my phone the installation ran without any error messages. Ideas anyone?

Hello again Ranger .

So,
I formatted ALL the partitions (boot, system, data, cache and I wiped the dalvik) but the phone is still stuck at the HTC logo :-/ (I waited 10mn) .

I'm back to beta4 ...

I have the same problem on mine but I assumed it was more a user error on my side since I'm not all that familiar with the Legend.

In my case I've had CM7 and CM9 (RC2 Beta 4) working fine on the phone. When I try to flash CM9.1 Beta 5 or even the CM10 files then I just get stuck at the white HTC screen and it never changes. I end up having to pull the battery, reboot into recovery, and restore CM9 again. I've tried clearing everything I could think of - caches, data wipe, so on - but it doesn't seem to matter. The zip doesn't seem corrupt as CWM doesn't report and errors at all when installing. Tried this about 5 times with the same result each time

I'll try to download a fourth zip and see if it works this time

try upgrading and unlocking hboot

don't bother with redownloading the ROM, just check the md5sum.

Which hboot do you have? After I failed getting cm9 beta5 to work I wanted to try zeubea's CM10, and in that thread he explicitly says that it requires s-off or unlocked hboot from htc. So I went and did the upgrade and unlock, et voila, suddenly CM9 worked as well! Don't know if that was actually the reason, but all you out there with the "stuck at htc logo" problem might want to give that a try.

I ended up going back to cm7 in the end because I couldn't get superuser to work. After reinstalling the app single invocations would work, but superuser never remembered the apps that I allowed, and that makes programs with batch operations like Ti backup kinda useless.

if you get htc logo bootloop after flashing the zip, try flashing the Gapps ALSO right after the ROM! With right after i mean: dont restart after flashing the rom, instead, flash the gapps also, then reboot.

I had the bootloop too and suprisingly it made adifference if there were gapps installed or not. With them installed, it worked perfectly.

My mother has an HTC legend which definitely needs another rom than the stock one. Found this thread in the forum and seems like a great rom for this phone.
What do you guys think, should I go for this rom or is there any other, more stable, rom that I should use? As I said, it's for my mother ;)
Thx in advance!

If you're mom is not into technology, I would suggest a more stable ROM. like CM7.2? Unless you are there to provide tech-support most time of the day, then you can go ahead with this ROM. It has still a few glitches.

My 2 year old kid plays with my Legend now, and he always goes into youtube and watches videos from sdCArd. So I just stuck first with CM7.2.

But if you don't mind having her try it for a while, then I think that will be a good idea.

Upgrade gone bad

Hi,

Today I attempted to upgrade my HTC legend from CM9.0 Beta2 to CM 9.1 Beta5 using Rom Manager. I selected wipe davlik cache. Everything looked ok during the process but when it rebooted it is stuck on HTC logo and goes no further.

When attempting to go into recovery, after selecting recovery, it goes to the red triangle with ! mark and is stuck.

How can I get out of this mess? It's been a while since I messed with an HTC
