Hey man. Try this:
- Download terminal emulator from play store
- type these:
-su
- cd /sys/class/power_supply/bq27520
- echo 0 > fg_lock
- echo "start" > fg_cmd
~~~~wait for 10-15secs
- echo "end" > fg_cmd
~~~~wait for 10-15secs
- echo 1 > fg_lock
REBOOT PHONE
It should be fixed.

Most probably is 'google play' background tasks related.
I always had this and especially on GB (2.3.4).
Now I use xposed framework on GB (GB for performance reasons) , which has a nice module called " prevent running" in which you can disable programs from performing background tasks. It's like the "greenify" tool...but better.
With the "prevent running" tool, just disable everything (especially google stuff) from which you know it should not run in background..
With this xposed framework module my battery drain is less than 1% per hour, so the battery (in standby) lasts 5 full days...really. The battery is not new, its from 2011.
I'm sure xposed framework is also there for ICS, also with the "prevent running" module...so give it a try, and ofcourse post your result here in the thread for everybody to benefit.

Hey man. I have installed xposed and prevent running module bu t I cant enable it from xposed installer.
I can tick it to enable in gb. Can you try another module if you can enable that? Btw prevent running is a separate program in the list..can you see it between your other apps?

Yes any GB will dothere is no seperate app !! which rom you use (GB) thats the battery holds 5 days ?
At the moment I'm using repack4pda_v7 as this was the source to my illuminative ROM (also a very good one).Br.

In my experience with my xperia ray, stock rom is always the best. And the best ics rom for ray is this one. Jader is a talented developer so his rom is definitely the best for ics with awesome mods preinstalled.
But if you're looking for a performance rom, my advice is go for gb.

Sirkay is good. But I prefer lupus for customizations and pretty decent battery life. I've also had good experience with ctc kernel. The one before ukms was integrated. But due to undervolting, ctc kernel was slightly unstable on my ray when overclocked and heavily used.

I've been on this rom for 4 days now and there's still no decrease in performance. I dun know about others but i usually get 185+ free ram which is not bad for multitasking and gaming at all. And yeah HD games like RR3, NFS MW, Amazing Spidey, Sims Freeplay works amazingly well.

HOW-TO INSTALL ROM
- For Unlocked Bootloaders: Flash any Kernel for stock ICS.
- For Locked Bootloaders: Root your phone using this tutorial, than install CWM using this app
- Place ROM on SD-Card
- Back up user apps and data. (Various apps available, search Google Play. This is a popular one)
- Power off phone.
- Boot to CWM (Keep pressing the Volume Down key after the Sony logo appears)
- Wipe Data/Factory Reset
- Mounts and Storage --> Format /System
- Advanced > Wipe Battery Stats
- Install zip from SD card > Choose Xperia Ultimate HD
- Follow on screen instructions on AROMA.
- After Complete Installation untick "reboot" and select reboot in CWM
- Give the phone a good full charge, and enjoy your brand new phone!
HOW-TO INSTALL OVER-THE-AIR UPDATE
- Settings --> Ultimate HD Advanced --> System Updates
- System Updates --> Check for Updates ---> Download
- After the Download Finished, Boot to CWM
- Install Zip from sdcard --> Choose Zip from sdcard ---> sdcard/OTA-Updater/HDx.x.zip
- Reboot & Done

- Clear data in settings > app > all from Xperia Home, Settings, Email
