Checking in with daily driver as well. :)

Just got a One M8, but my GS3 will be wiped on this latest version of Intergalactic I've had installed for.... just ever, I guess. Phone will be ready to roll as a spare in the event one is called for.

Thanks for all your work, Strat. I've been on this since before the switch to Jellybean. I see no reason to quit now. :)

Bootloader and Modem

Anyone know if the Intergalactic ROMS run okay on the newer bootloader/modem combinations such as NE4? I'm thinking about upgrading but I want to be sure I can roll back to Intergalactic if I need to :). I've been running one version of Intergalactic or another since I first got my S3 but really want to test some KitKat ROMS to see if any will do as a daily driver. Thanks!

Sorry guys. Life got ahead of me. I graduated college. I barely got enough input to make all the work worth it. It takes a really long time and it's so much work if everyone has moved on. I think it's best to end this. I recommend S3RX. A lot of the work there was a collaboration between the S3 devs. That way you'll get the best features and not have to worry about battery too. Sorry for the disappointment. It's really hard to maintain an older ROM and work full time when everyone has moved on. I hope you can understand.

You did great work while you were here, Strat. We were lucky to have you while we did. Good luck post-college, and hopefully you are not done with devving. Your helpful attitude, just like eneuman and talkingmonkeys over here on the d2att, was refreshing to say the least. You guys all have given me a whole new appreciation for touch wiz based ROMs. To those looking to replace your ROM with an update, I would also recommend TMS3KK. He has an S5 rom he is also working on, but still works and provides support to us S3 guys while we last. Its actually amazing how relevant this device is considering it is EOL. Anyway, thanks man.

You know, I really love this community. I appreciate all of you very much. When I started this project, it was a very dark time for me in my life. I was in school, I had just gone through an awful breakup with a long-term girlfriend. Subsequently my grades slipped and I went into a depression. I started studying other devs work very closely. The work I had followed the closest was NunHugger's because he always found time to help people who asked for it on top of always putting out an incredibly solid ROM. Funny enough, I had asked him for help with some kernels and he was gracious enough to teach me how to make a flashable modified kernel. I started playing around with those before I even touched ROMs, funny enough.

I started this project - Intergalactic after building up enough confidence and understanding to actually put out a release. I don't like to release junk. Some of the things that were being tested for this ROM were amazing , but soft bricked my phone consistently. I wish I could have brought those features to the ROM, but the lack of stability made me choose otherwise and other hardcore modifications that could not have been possible without loser, enewman, and upndwn were implemented. This was a seriously amazing project and I can't tell you how happy it made me to see you guys enjoy something I put together.

What this project means to me is everything. If it were not for this, I would not have my current job as Full-time Administrator of Swappa because I was lucky enough to get hired as a part-time moderator and I wouldn't have walked away with all this amazing knowledge about these devices. I wouldn't be where I am today if I didn't sit down after I was depressed, look at my phone and say, "I want you to work better". Oddly enough it was kind of like a child. I had something to take care of; something to work on while I was not well. This community's dedication to my work was overwhelmingly astonishing to say the least. You have all been so supportive and kind. There is a reason that there are so many thanks I give in the OP. That doesn't even begin my list.

Thank you all. I wish you the best in all of your future endeavours. If you ever need me for anything, you know where to find me. You'll always see me buzzing around Swappa.

I am sorry this was such a long post. I just started getting really sentimental I suppose. I hope someone will read this who may be in a similar situation that I was in and take it as a confidence boost to get out there, do the work, and learn the hard way (dive in head first and make mistakes). Intergalactic was my therapy. I was never perfect at it and I asked a lot of questions along the way, but I always did my best to make this the best project that I could. It turned out, the people here made it one of the best things I've ever done in my life. Thanks again, my Intergalactic family.

TL;DR: XDA rules. Thank you, everybody.

I'm currently on Intergalactic 3.0 with I747UCLH9 bootloader. I tried to update to the MJB bootloader, but the flash failed with an error. What do I need to do to go from UCLH9 > MJB > NE4?

What was the error message?
How did you try to go about the upgrade?
I tried to flash d2att_I747UCUEMJB_bootloader_modem_4.3.zip from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-att/general/ucuemjb-to-ucufne4-firmware-update-t2808654

When I flash this file in TWRP, it appears to check a list of valid bootloaders in ro.properties and then fails because it doesn't see I747UCLH9 in the list.

-----------------------------------------
Correction:
It's checking ro.bootloader to look for valid existing bootloaders
Here's what I see in the updater script:
Code:
assert(getprop("ro.bootloader") == "I747UCALEM" ||
	   getprop("ro.bootloader") == "I747UCALG1" ||
	   getprop("ro.bootloader") == "I747UCDLK3" ||
	   getprop("ro.bootloader") == "I747UCDMG2" ||
	   getprop("ro.bootloader") == "I747UCUEMJ2" ||
	   getprop("ro.bootloader") == "I747UCUEMJB");
So, I could change the updater script, but I don't want to do that and cause a problem. Anybody know how I should deal with this?

I replied to the other thread before reading this one, seeing this changes my answer. Since the updater script is okay with bootloader/modem pairs that are older than yours there probably is no reason to go sequentially to get to MJB. I woulld probably, as you suggest, edit the script. Keep in mind that I haven't seen else asking about this upgrade from LH9. So edit or upgrade to LK3 and then to MJB.

If you haven't previously done so you may want to apply the carrier unlock before upgrading to MJB. Once on MJB the free unlock is not an option, you get the code from AT&T or you pay an on-line vendor. I have seen instructions for the unlock from LK3 on these forums. I don't know if the hidden menus are the same on earlier modems.

I remember when you first pushed out Intergalactic. Awesome memories! What I respect the most about you, is your will to help, never criticize, and are always striving for the best product.

This was the most enjoyable thread I've ever seen on XDA.

Thanks again Wesley!

Go get a damn G3. We need some stock based AT&T Roms. :)
Take it easy dude!

The Stagefright detector says i'm vulnerable on my S3 with Intergalactic, what can I do ?
Not much really, disable auto retrieve in stock MMS settings (if its there). Any ROM you flash is going to have this vulnerability unless its updated with Google's patch. Only ROMs I know for sure that are good CM & AOSP based LP & probably KK if they're sync'd up to date with source. I could be wrong but I haven't noticed any TW ROM updates lately.

Edit: looks like S3 Rearmed has been updated on 8/13/15 . It doesn't have the patch yet, but looks like an update is coming this week. Possibly 2moro. If you're going to stay on TW you should check out Rearmed. Hope this helps ya ?

I am giving my S3 to someone with this rom installed. I want to remove all my stuff on the phone before I give them the phone. Should I go into recovery and click Delete Data ? Will that only remove the apps and data that I installed and leave the rooted rom intact ?

Thanks
