i built it from scratch, id be careful looking too much at the v500, it's a snapdragon 600 SOC which is very old and is a quad core. the 615 in the g pad x is octacore and much newer. even the ramdisk is going to have big differences in how its handled.
G pad x has SD 617 , not 615, even though 617 is just a slightly upgraded 615.

Ok guys, I'm not building CM13 anymore until things get clear.

Cyanogen is shutting down and CyanogwnMod services too, we will not be able to get code/service/update/patches...

The main team claim that they will fork cyanogenmod into the open source Lineage...

Actually I can not access any more to some documentation on cyanogenmod site and that is very vital to me.

So, I will stop cm13 until things get cleared, who knows, may be I will continue with Lineage.

And yeah... I know it... This is sad... Very sad... I finally got the cm13.zip (not bootable yet but at least it was a complete system).

G pad what??? There are several G Pads, this rom is for the LGV521 and you can only flash it if you are in the 10c base.
What did you exactly do?

I am on 10c base on the LG V521 8.0 tablet.
I managed to get it to pick it up on LGUP but all that did was wipe everything. It went from telling me the system was corrupt to some warning that the encryption was unsuccessful and then finally it booted back to TWRP after messing with it for a day?

So now TWRP is showing
internal storage-0 MB
Micro SDCard- 0 MB
USB OTG - 0MB

I took out the SD card and copied the rom onto it from my pc, now I am crossing my fingers that it will install using TWRP.... it seems to be moving along fine
Now at the end of install I have a red warning

'Failed to mount '/data' (unknown error 150)'
...done

how should i proceed?

I tried to reboot system and it just brings me back to TWRP?
Do I need to mount the /data somehow and if so, please explain how... I am a newbie I suppose so I do need step by step if possible. Please and thank you!

Go to advance wipe and select Data, Cache, Dalvick and System and wipe it, then push the Format Data button, type yes, reboot to recovery, do an standard wipe x3 and flash the rom.

I did just as you said..
when i got to the part where I was installing the rom it went fine all but the very beginning when it checked the md5 or whatever, right after that it said
'unmount system failed'
the process kept going and finally said 'done'
just rebooted system and it boots right back to TWRP?

I have tried everything you said multiple times.
My tablet just keeps booting to TWRP recovery. When I am in TWRP main screen and click
>Mount
The next page shows a list of partitions to Mount...

*Cache
* Data
System
Firmware
*Micro SDCard
USB OTG

The ones in red are not really red in TWRP but I made them red to show they are the ones with checkmarks. I try selecting System and it just unchecks itself.
How do I get /system to mount?

Ok, before you said that you use LGUP right?
What did you do with LGUP?
What version of twrp are you using?

If nothing is solving the problem you need to use LGUP and run the 10c kdz (original or the one rooted by tungkick) to restore your device.

It seems that you did something that it corrupts a partition and that is why your device can not properly boot. Or you was not on 10c and overflash the wrong rom.

The message of mount system fail is normal, it happens to me too when Im trying changes on the rom and Im flashing it every 10 minutes but it doesn't break the system.

so, LGUP was the only thing that worked from it being totally stuck on the screen that said
'device software cant be checked for corruption'
It was stuck there so I just pressed buttons until it responded finally. I had it plugged in and LGUP was open, it recognized the device and then started to do like an update of firmware. That is what the screen showed. I am not positive what update it gave it but then once it finished successfully it rebooted to TWRP and since then TWRP is the only thing that will boot?
I tried wiping system, delvik, cache and then formatting data then installing the rom (a newly downloaded copy on my exSDCard) it went fine all but the stsem not mounting... and That is where I am now.
TWRP version : 3.0.2-0

Also, I cannot get LGUP to recognize the device again. Not sure how I did it the first time.

Im having all the exact same problems you are describing. LGUP cant recognize the device. Failing to mount \system, etc. Everything just the same as you. I have tried all the exact same things. Let me know if you find a solution before I do.

If it helps any, the simplest method to enter download mode (provided the download mode partition hasn't been corrupted or replaced) for LGUP to work is:
-power off device
-hold volume up, plug in usb (to pc)
You can also get there by holding volume up and powering on or rebooting the device, but the timing of when to release what is a little trickier.
