Provide us more information, which ROM version you have installed? do you have xposed, rooting etc installed? any logs to check? did you installed any app that changes brightness?
Also the J5 2015 doesn't have a light sensor which means it doesn't support auto brightness.
Best rom for J500H... tested all other roms. Good battery and Netflix work too.
Is adoptable storage working in this rom, if yes, then how to enable it?

Download the ROM zip and push it to internal or external storage
Enter TWRP Recovery
Backup your current ROM in case something goes wrong
Do a Full Wipe (system, dalvik-cache, data, cache)
Install the ROM
Reboot to System
Note : First boot take 10-15 minutes, so don't interrupt it!

Well the thing is the following...
O got this Galaxy J5 just some weeks ago and everything is stock/unmodified. It came with marshmallow 6.0.1 and I updated it via OTA with the built-in updater to the latest marshmallow patch. Since the stock ROM is too bloated, I began to research about the phone and found about this marshmallow bootloader thing. So I'm not sure which bootloader version it has right now. So if you're kind enough to help about.. and the rest is self explanatory since I have experience with ROMs. My goal is to upgrade to Oreo but also I could try this ROM as well.
As i said you have right bootloader so you can install it
For j5 there is a lot of roms from lollipop to Q due to our best devs
But the latest tw rom is this rom that is really better than stock(it's just bugless)
And other roms are aosp based that you can find at j5 froum
And if you need help our friends are always here
So.. the device has marshmallow bootloader?
Never entered to download/stock recovery mode before on this device so it needs further research.
And yes, I've done some research about ROMs available for this device, but the target/wished Android version is Oreo for development reasons. Also yes, I'm looking for a bugless ROM, so I'm reading a lot before making any modification and I don't mind about not using a TouchWiz UX ROM since I'm used to other ROMs as well. Also the reason to flash a new ROM is to debloat the phone since the stock marshmallow already uses more than half of the internal storage.
Also thanks for the help, I'll tell you if everything works. Since my laptop is broken, I'll gather the necessary information and files to prepare the modification meanwhile.

The best of them is the "[v2.0] SEP 8.5 Lite, a Galaxy J2 (2018)" ROM which I use now.
You ask why?
1) Stutter on the interface is minimum. (According to others.) (Too little.)
2) I can say GPU performance is high level. I almost couldn't watch 720p 10bit video with "SpaceOS by Allan Rodrigues [J500F / H / M / G / FN]" ROM. 720p 10bit video was watched by "[v5.0] SEPerience-ROM A8 2018 Port" ROM. I watched 720p 10bit video with "SEP 8.5 Lite, a Galaxy J2 (2018)" ROM and in a way that I can call it fluent with "Software Decoder". (VLC Player is better in 720p 10-bit (HEVC) video than MX Player.) As someone watching movies and series, this was the most important for me.
3) Pretty plain. There is no application to tire the system.
Let me tell you what I'm doing.
First, I installed the "SpaceOS by Allan Rodrigues [J500F / H / M / G / FN]" ROM. It sounded good at first, but the stutter was noticeable. So I installed the "[v5.0] SEPerience-ROM A8 2018 Port" ROM. This ROM was lighter and smoother than the other. So I used this ROM for a while. But still it wasn't exactly what I wanted. That's why I went into search. And I came across the "SEP 8.5 Lite, a Galaxy J2 (2018)" ROM. I installed it today and it made me happy.
It used the "[v5.0] SEPerience-ROM A8 2018 Port" ROM and "SEP 8.5 Lite, a Galaxy J2 (2018)" ROM "Core" Quasar Kernel v1.6 ". But I flashed Quasar Kernel v2.0 to make it better. It made the phone unusable in two ROMs. That's why I installed it clean every time.
While installing "[v5.0] SEPerience-ROM A8 2018 Port" ROM, I made many different attempts in "aroma support" but the stutters did not improve. I guess he was in conflict with "j5 2015" because it is "A series".
While switching from "[v5.0] SEPerience-ROM A8 2018 Port" ROM to "SEP 8.5 Lite, a Galaxy J2 (2018)" ROM, I couldn't flash with "TWRP 3.3.1". I installed "TWRP Pro 3.2.1-1" at the suggestion of the ROM owner and flashed the ROM. (Since I don't have a computer, I flashed ".img" file with TWRP.)
Of course, since "SEP 8.5 Lite, a Galaxy J2 (2018)" ROM is plain, it doesn't have as much feature as "[v5.0] SEPerience-ROM A8 2018 Port" ROM. But I think this ROM should be used to continue using "j5 2015" in a "nice" way.
In addition;
* I installed the Samsung Galaxy Store app as an "apk". I deleted the Galaxy Store app after installing and updating apps. Some apps were not available on the Galaxy Store. I downloaded and installed it as an APK. (Android 7.1.1 compatible)
* I installed "Screen Off" apk to use lock key less. And I put it on the homepage as a shortcut. When you click on the app, the screen turns off after 1 second.

My goal is not to spam. Helping friends who use the 3 ROMs I use.
Are you planning on doing an Oreo/pie version of this project?
I would like to see something like that because I like a lot the UX of Samsung.
So far I've managed to install TWRP pro with aroma support and make a backup of almost everything important of the stock ROM. Then I flashed magisk and root seems to work. Now I've doing research about the bootloader to avoid issues and install this ROM or another from this forum. I'll report any issues on the respective threads
Samsung didn't update their MSM-8916 devices to Oreo/Pie. You could fake the ROM Android version but that will not make it oreo/pie
I see. To bad that happened because I like this ROM ux and it would be cool to have an Oreo/pie rom. What about one based on AOSP?
Also I'm going to install this ROM right now after testing bootleggers Oreo ROM
