MIUI v5 (4.2.x) JellyBean version

Thanks to MIUI Android team and MIUI CN for porting DHD. However I'm going to maintain for bug fixing (report to them after that either it is fixed by me or MIUI CN Team). This is 4.2.x version of MIUI v5.

Known Issues:
  • Cannot take photos with flash ON

Based on RandomBlame JellyBean R30, MIUI Android and Kernel KangBang by Synergye (not from 3.4.26 version)

Credits goes to:

  • |0xD34D| for helping me in fine tune this port
  • synergye for providing very good kernel for JB. Without this kernel, I cannot able to enable headset.

Information

How to install:
  • Place ROM zip file in your SD card
  • Boot into recovery
  • Create a backup of your present ROM
  • Full wipe using this ZIP file.
  • Install zip from SD card
  • Reboot and enjoy!

How to install multilingual file
  • Place Multilingual zip file in your SD card
  • Boot into recovery
  • Install zip from SD Card
  • Wipe cache & Dalvik Cache.
  • Reboot and enjoy!
Just delete ContactsProvider.apk before flashing multilingual otherwise FB sync will not work


How to install patch files
  • Place ROM zip file in your SD card
  • Boot into recovery
  • Install zip from SD Card
  • Wipe cache & Dalvik Cache.
  • Reboot and enjoy!

How to report errors:
  1. Get Logcat output
  2. Paste it in PasteBin or some location for view
  3. Add it in Issue Tracker - http://code.google.com/p/jmdhd/issues/list

General Information

1) In complete downloads
You need to post exact server link like the download page in Firefox or chrome will show either m1.androidfilehost.com , m2, m3 etc. Then I can talk to hosting guys to correct that problem. It is better to mention time of download and if you can then IP.

2) Wifi / Usb tether is not working
Till the time I found a fix please use Barnacle from Play Store or Wifi Tether application.

3) Multilingual Package
As soon as MIUI Android releases multilingual package then I'll update in OP. Just download package and apply on existing ROM. While applying just wipe cache & dalvik cache. Multilingual package version and your ROM version must be same.

First off--thanks for tackling this!

I'm curious if there is something unique about wiping using that zip file. I usually do it manually from recovery, but is there something different here? I'm looking forward to testing it later today. :)

By the way, since this is based off of a miuiandroid.com (Brit) build, is this actually going to be more like that or miui.us? What are the differences between them?

  • This is automated script which will clear and I can trust it. As long as you can able to wipe whole data, system, dalvikcache, cache and .android folder on sdcard then this is fine :).
  • I think miuiandroid.com is basically from miui.com. I don't know about miui.us. Post feedback then I can take right source :)

I can definitely do that. I just did a search and found that there is a substantial difference between "wipe" data/system/cache and "format" data/system/cache, and it seems that "format" is the best choice for the cleanest start. Just thought I'd share that, as I will be trying that next time around.

I'm guessing that I will wipe my second partition on my SD card, which is my link2sd partition. I believe Titinium + Nandroid backups will include all that and I will be ok.

Loving this so far :D Thanks heaps, have always had a soft spot for MIUI, this is just what I have been looking for. Best of both worlds.

    MIUI v5

    Hi All,

    Today MIUI China releasing MIUI v5 for public. I'll release it for you with my own modification or enhancements to that ROM. Don't ask me about multilingual as I still need to work with MIUI Android on that. May be it may take a week or 2 weeks to release it for multilingual.

    Enhancements / modifications:
    1. Enable FB contact sync
    2. Optimizing applications at startup
    3. Updating host file for Adblock
    4. Removing MIUI China applications which is not relevant
    5. OTA update feature
    6. With latest KangBang kernel 3.3
    7. Other things which I don't know at present :)

    2.12.7 UP

    Guys... with more tweaks updated to 2.12.7. Headset buttons also fixed by synergy... OTA enabled. So next time you will receive notification as soon as ROM updated.
