What is the point of flashing Mokee when CM10.& CM10.2 are not installing from SD card ?
I had tried installing Mokee initially but was advised against it. See previous threads.
I've tried everything through Custom Recovery.(Rebooted using CM7 power options as well as after Powering Off device):confused:

Some facts - Rooted BL7(GB2.3.6) using Framaroot 1.6.1,
2ndinit is installed & OK.
SuperSu/ Super User installed and OK.
As you have oldest recovery, this is cwm. When you try to flash the cm10/.1/.2 rom you choose the option Flash from zip file or sometHing like that or the option install update.zip? Because the last one is the wrong.

1. Let me clarify - i boot up in Recovery mode (press Volume Down - when Blue LED is visible)
2. I choose Custom Recovery > wipe data, wipe cache, etc. go back.
3. i choose > Install from SD Card > install from zip

Anything wrong here ?

Nop. It's The right way. One more thing you could try it's mounting the sdcard. May be is not mounted. In the main window of cwm you'll find the options to mount

OK, Thanks ! I will try as you suggest. Had my doubts about SD card earlier, so i had extracted a song from a .zip file
& that was ok.

What if mounting SD card also does not work ?

Nope not working :(
But just to test i installed 'gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip' which is a 89MB file for JellyBean.
I shall remove that once i restore back.

I suggest you to flash back to stock ROM, and then rooting, 2ndinit. Then flash CM10. This problem might be arising because you're using CM7 for MB525 (Defy) on MB526. MB526 never had official support from CM.

Things to remember-
1. Use minimal gapps from the themes and apps section for CM10 onwards.
2. When flashing make sure you have at least 75% battery.
3. There are guides on how to restore to the stock ROM.

1.Using latest, signed, Jordan_plus for Defy+ as listed on CM download site:
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=jordan_plus

2.Only installed gapps to test SD card mounting & extraction, normally use minimal gapps.

Having used Mokee 43.1 on my MB525 for a couple of weeks, I have decided that I am going back to CM7. It is really great having Jelly Bean for functionality of some apps, but on the whole I am finding my phone running slower, lagging more (to the point where I can't take a phone call sometimes) and that the ROM/Android version hog a heap more resources. Battery life has also suffered.

I suppose its the equivalent of using XP on an older computer - its actually going to be be more suitable for the older hardware.

I've tried overclocking/undervolting, zRam, Swapper etc etc but I just don't get the performance or battery life I have from CM7.

All that said, big thanks to the guys who put so much time and effort into bringing the latest Android version to our legacy device.

Slim 4.3 is more stable, gives more battery life and is smooth and fast even with 100 apps installed. I feel it is smoother than CM7, though i'm having a Defy+. But not everyone's phones and needs are the same.

OLD Recovery issue - update done

The last resource it's flash the sbf. Never had a problem as you described. Good luck.

It was the old recovery issue - which i still don't F******G understand ( why is that so complicated )
But i did manage to update up 3 ROM's so that's a good start for a newbie like me.
Thank you for your guidance !

Now i'm hoping we get a nice stable & light version of 4.3.1 or 4.4. :)

Can i replace the keyboard and mokee market from the system apps? i dont want them
Open the zip file with 7zip, navigate to /system/app and delete the apps you don't want, then just close 7zip, it saves the changes automatically. I always delete:

  • iFlyIME.apk
  • Notepad.apk
  • MoKeeMarket.apk
  • MoKeeHelper.apk

iFlyeIME is the keyboard you don't want, which comes with an ad/trojan encoded BTW.

But if he delete the only keyboard in the Rom, he can't configure the phone at start. Some gapps package doesn't have Google keyboard. He must be sure it is in gapps

That's why he shouldn't delete things if he doesn't know what he's doing. Secondly, if he looks properly he'll also find a "GoogleIME.apk" which is the default keyboard used by the ROM. ;)

I just flashed the latest nightly, and there's not other keyboard than the Chinese one. Some time ago Google keyboard came in the Rom, but some nightlys isn't there any more.
