I saw a tweet a few days ago from @whitehawkx that AOKP team would be taking up the challenge of merging some of the Paranoid Android per-app dpi code / features... is this on the cards here in future ?

Noob Question

I have a stock ICS ROM
I would like to know if flashing from the stock ROM will create any problems.
As per installation notes, need to Flash Team Hacksung's latest build
Could someone let me know what this means.
Would love to dive into the note development.
I had a Milestone earlier and had flashed it a lot with CM9 and MIUI

Flash a safe kernel with ODIN first and foremost. Other than that just download the file in the OP and gapps, make a nandroid in CWM, factory recent, then flash the rom and your good to go.

Yes, it's aligned.

New, today's nightly available:cool:.

Great, data toggle has now been added. Also the "2G only" toggle and tethering toggles(maybe they were there before).

I'm testing for the weather update issue, since the last nightly automatic update didn't work for me.

I also noticed that the lock screen up position no longer has the Google shortcut.

I guess the Google shortcut is a problem because i've lost my Google account since I flashed this nightly. I wiped cash and dalvik before flashing, now Google is not here anymore. So I flashed Gapps again and added my account and Google shortcut is back.

Awesome thanks, I do get an error about a clock not starting on boot but other than that all good. (Mind you I did come from the Assylum JB and did a dirty install so most likely my own fault.

Did the build.pro edit to 213 working fine and the HydraKernal also working well.

Seems to have much higher available RAM, wondering if some of the memory leak issues might have been solved..?

I came from king droid which I thought was smooth and quick. How I was wrong. This is a good amount smoother and massively quicker. The only issue I've had so far is installing nova prime , but somehow it started working.

Install the latest notecore kernel (I forget the name it begins with h) and it makes a world of difference

If hwcomposer isn't working on this then its going to be ridiculously smooth when it is

It's not a problem. It would always be like that if you flash the rom, rebooted immediately after wiping caches and did not flash gapps after installing the rom. If you want to keep your google account intact, flash the rom, flash gapps, wipe caches, only then should you reboot. Been dirty installing JB roms for quite sometime now this way and had not lost my google account nor the shorcut on the lockscreen.. ;)

Yeah, I will remember that. It became clear, when I couldn't open my Gmail and Gplay.

BTW, this is only happening on JB, right? ICS didn't require another Gapps flash after? I'm asking, because I always made a clean install if I updated my ROM with a new nightly.

I guess so. Maybe that feature is not yet forward ported. I do remember that it was implemented on CM9.. cmiiw.. :)

I have another question. Why are Apollo and DSP manager not included?

I wonder this, because I pushed Apollo and DSPmanager from CM10 preview #4 and the Apollo worked fine, but there was no way for equalizer to work properly. I was allowed to do one change, but if I changed two settings, than nothing would work and Apollo completly ignores DSPmanger's settings. There is also a weird volume issue, it's pretty loud where it shouldn't be...is this the reason why the Apollo and DSPM are not yet included?

Loving this ROM and can't believe how much smoother it is than ICS. Only problem encountered so far is after trying to install chainfire 3D. It
got stuck at the Note logo when rebooting and I had to flash again. Anybody got chainfire working ok with this?
Also tested the alarm/clock settings as others have reported issues and no problems there for me. Very impressed with Google Now as well, an absolute Siri killer.
Chainfire has not been updated for a long time, we can say that it's not working on JB. Tried it on Liquidsmooth rom and it didn't work as well

Not sure about those 2 apps. Afaik, apollo and dsp does not come standard in AOKP as they are CM apps.. Also, I exclusively use Poweramp for my music. ;) I have read in one of the unofficial CM10 threads ( definitely not Utacka's) that you need libs to make dsp fully work. Better check that thread as the OP provided a flashable zip..

Is the memory leakage a kernel problem? I just needed to reboot after an hours use.

Thank you. Found it, flashed it, DSPmanager(AwesomeBEATS) works fine with this AOKP ROM. There's only a problem with the Apollo volume, which doesn't seem to be synchronized with the system. I can only increase the volume for a couple of bars then it stays the same, no matter how much I increase the volume.
