so i would recommend to get hydracore (you will love the fluid feeling), but don't mess with superuser apps!
Nope, usually you should just dload the su app you wanna use, and update the binary, I deleted another one from a MIUI Rom once, and lost root as well. But if you dload supersu and update it's binary, it should kill of superuser's administration and leave it up to supersu to administer. But I wouldn't remove superuser after the supersu binary update anyways, could work, or could mess up the root. But as long as you got the newest binary on supersu it should be that app handling root permissions.

Well, the safe volume is ticked to begin with. :/ So you have to disable it first. ;) I don't know if that actually causes the problem.. I have tried HydroCore, Stock CM10 and Asylum Beast kernel.. They all do it. I read that on HTC something, someone flashed another kernel and it fixed the problem.. But it didn't do the trick for me sadly..
I will be far away from this option, will not disable it, and check what happens.

for me HydraCore (using interactive or pegasus gov and noop scheduler) and disabling media scanning made a whole
new feeling: the UI is almost always super fluid compared to CM kernel, as well as the battery (and perhaps mem) drain
stopped due to the disabled mediascanner (once a while i scan manually)!

only tricky thing was that CM kernel uses super-su from chainfire, where as HydraCore uses superuser by chainsdd.
so you end up having both su applications installed. dont play with it. if you don't try to remove one of them you will
be fine. i screwed it up badly the first time: wanted to remove superuser (in market you can only uninstall the previous
updates; titanium doesn't even show it), ended up with no root, wanted to flash the kernel again -> had to wipe /date
due to a bootloop (even reflashing of /system did not do the trick)!

so i would recommend to get hydracore (you will love the fluid feeling), but don't mess with superuser apps!
Please, could you tell us the link to get HydraCore?

Is there any risk due to having both at the same time?

And, by the way, guys, changing kernel doesn't cause capacitive buttons lights bug, where they can't be definitely disabled?

This happens on ICS AOKP. When changing from native kernel, those lights keep turning on every time, even when these buttons are disabled through CWM! :(

I dont have the lights bug. Same phone, even tried different kernels.

I think you are not testing the switch properly lol that sets it on or off. Sometimes its off, when switch says on (but that was on 404 dont know about JB, but can imagine same bug)

hydracore can be found here:

and directly here (newest version):

i use version 1, searching the link i've seen there's a version 2b from today!

about the button lights:
if you have autobrightness on the button lights will come on every time when you turn
on the screen. with autobrightness off the lights will only come on when changing the
brightness (you have to enable/disable it once in settings/device settings and reboot,
then the "off" will stay)!

about two su's:
dont think its a problem, as long as you do not mess with the binaries!

edit: i flashed v2b before a few secondes, works as well as v1

Either use rom toolbox or edit the build.prop manually otherwise you may get errors

Just used DPI Changer here before reading your comment, and now AOKP is not loading anymore. Will try to flash it again over itself...

=/

===============
Edit:

Thanks so much! Now i'm using 240 DPI here!

Try 213 for dpi. It's phablet mode. And beautiful!

Kudos for a wonderful non-sequitur. :silly:

He's not talking about a specific DPI, but about his Note not booting after using DPI changer.
Just his edit suggested otherwise so i was recommending! I don't think I've seen a single dpi related issue that doesn't relate to not using toolbox or setting permissions correctly on build prop.

What rom you now on chasmodo? You seem to be everywhere on these forums. (in a good way, you are quite the legend to us)

First of all, I want to express something here that probably is just the same opinion from a lot of friends here:

What an INCREDIBLE ROM. Can't believe that it's only the second version. Pretty great! This just made AOKP my favorite ROM even more!

So now let's interact!

Noticed this issue here. In fact, doesn't matters if you enable it or not, the volume level will be the same. The difference I noticed is where in volume bar it stops increasing, but the total volume level it's the same for me. And, by the way, it's pretty lower than AOKP 4.0.4, for example. :(

Same thing here, but I don't need to reboot to the lights keep turned off. By the way, in the HydraCore thread this light thing is a known issue. At least it's better than when changing kernel on 4.0.4 version, where it's impossible to disable those these lights! :)

Try 213 for dpi. It's phablet mode. And beautiful!

Thanks! I think things became so much small using 213, but didn't experiment on Jelly Bean yet!

Guys, one thing that happened on 4.0.4 was that, when using a lower than stock DPI, the action bar destined for selection text (copy, paste, etc...) had two colors on most apps. For my surprise, this persists on 4.1, so I ask if anyone here know what I must do/edit to completely disable this color effect on that action bar in the upper part of the screen.

Attached a screen shot!

===
Edit:

Tried 213 here, but Nova Launcher app drawer became messed up here! Going back to 240.

Oh, and just another thing! My Telephone and People apps have a little bug related to the upper part of the screen, when we slide the panels. Icons and options appears mixed, above other things.

Everybody noticed this?

And, the fact the ROM doesn't bring yet native DPI setting probably mean it's not supported yet?

Should we talk about issues related to changed DPI?

On asylum aokp builds the touchkey lights now stay off when u tick that in advanced settings

You just quoted something and then stated something wrong again. :p - If you go on your Asylum Rom, and flash the HydroCore kernel, you will get the lights bug. I run this AOKP Rom with the Asylum Beast kernel, and I don't suffer from it at all. - So yeah.. It's the kernel. Not the build. :)

Just to clarify even more, apparently. ;)

Screenshot is not able to be added yet. Use power button and volume down for screenshot. Hold them at the same time for about a second. Themes just search on playstore for cm10 or aokp themes. I use steelblueng and it looks great. Epicblue and cobalt also work well
