go to terminal emulator and type:

reboot recovery

or enable advanced reboot options in dev settings and select reboot to bootloader from power menu

or connect to pc, make sure you have the latest adb version and type in cmd:
adb remount
check your device for a message and select ok
then type:
adb reboot recovery

Thnaks. Option '2' worked for me. I enabled advanced reboot option and selected reboot to recovery.
For 1st option, I opened terminal emulator in Mike ROM and typed reboot recovery but nothing happened. I pressed enter on keyboard but nothing happened. This was the first time I used terminal emulator. Kindly provide more information about it Thanks in advance.

i have a problem: when i call a person, the volume of speaker call is low... but if i click on volume down (or up) and then return to the previously settings, the volume is very high! same things happens if when i call i click on external speaker option (mean the speaker back to the phone), then return of normal call and the volume is up!

oh yes in cm10.1 there's a problem with this option, on other roms it works well. You can try reboot bootloader instead, anyway you don't need it now.
Terminal is the command shell for Linux, and as android is based on Linux it has a terminal too. It can be used to achieve much tasks, like powering off, rebooting, wiping, moving, renaming, mounting and unmounting partitions, collecting debug logs etc.... You need to have knowledge and experience with Unix scripting and commands in order to benefit from it.

su >> get superuser elevation
poweroff >> power off the device instantly
mv >> rename a file
logcat >> debug cat
echo >> displays a message
busybox shell >> get access to busybox commands, generally used to mount system or data as R/W instead of Read-Only
free >> displays info about ram and swap

and many more ... it's like cmd in windows
