I hear you...I'm just in awe that these incredible devs are able to keep our almost 3 year old Sennys alive. I've been able to hold off upgrading for a while. Hats off!

How do I set photos for contacts? Everytime I try to put a picture, it never appears in the contact.
I couldn't find a clear answer to this on the forum. Any fix to be downloaded or a permanent bug?

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but if you open clock and go to world clock, the header/tab dissappears. You can still tap there to select the different tabs but it's invisble. However, it becomes visible on swiping and making a screenshot. This is a VERY minor bug, but I still thought I'd mention it.

Go to gallery and select picture , go to option and select set picture as , select contact ..etc

Disable Trace keyboard than u can edit that button, for some reason HTC made it like that, and i remember it to work like that past 2 versions of sense.

And you should watch your language, no reason to flame, and make huge font questions, just ask nicely and wait for answer like everyone else.

Boot Phone into fastboot mode, and flash boot.img via fastboot
(fastboot flash boot boot.img)
boot-img should be in your backup folder.

because boot partition didn't flashed properly
now just flash the boot.img of the stock rom via fastboot command

What do you suggest? Should I try to flash ViperS 5.0.0 again from the scratch or wait for the new version eagerly awaited by everybody...

Couple of day? Is that confirmed? Rom will be out a couple of days from now? Damn..it's the euphoric sensation we had when 5.0 was about to be released all over again. Hope what you say is true. :fingers-crossed:

I would suggest you install 4ext recovery control 2.4.6.apk (google for it) on your stock rom and let it download and reflash 4ext recovery for you again (pick the latest version 1.0.0.6 rc1) and enable smartflash..then delete your nandroid of stock rom and make a new one while you are on stock. Only then, you can safely try reflashing vipers5.0.0 apain.

P.s: before copying your vipers rom zip to sd, extract it and get the kernel..just in case you run into a bootloop..but i am also s-on and.since i enabled smartflash i never needed to flash bootimg or encountered a bootloop.

Actually i wrote about it in FAQ, it happens only to some users, and its due remains of old picture related files in your DCIM folder.

Easier fix is to do opposite way, open pic than set is as contact.

I already have 4eXT Recovery Control 2.4.6 as well as recovery version 1.0.0.6 RC1 installed. But I think my nandroid backup was taken with version 1.0.0.5 RC9, if that makes any difference. Thanks for suggesting a new nandroid backup before flashing ViperS again. May be I will try out new ViperS version once it is released.

I too didn't encounter any boot-loops after flashing ViperS on my S-ON XE as I didn't flash boot image, but trouble started when I manually rebooted my phone after few days. I required at least 3 manual reboots as phone hung at various stages once getting to home screen.

Will flashing boot image through recovery option after flashing ViperS ROM help in above issue? Other than this issue ViperS works almost perfectly on my XE.

Well.. almost...

Stock ICS 4.0.3 had 14 sensors, where as ViperS shows only 9 (snapshots of 14 sensors of ICS attached using Quick System Info Pro)
Can these missing sensors be added, as app "Keep Screen On" stopped working on ViperS. When I reverted to ICS, it's functional again.

Also, some longer message lines (Whatsapp / Stock SMS / GoSMS) in regional fonts don't get word-wrapped at the right edge of the post, get truncated. In horizontal view more words are visible, but still some longer lines get truncated.

I have my own pic, i can change it witohut problems just click on it and it offers from where to take new pics, Gallery, Camera, Twitter

+1 for this. An example is Tamil.

Secondly, there are several (minor) GUI issues that I've mentioned a while ago...

For example, the playback bar is not displaying in the Voice Recorder app in portrait mode, and the control buttons such as play/pause/stop are not displaying in landscape mode. This only occurs while replaying recordings.

Furthermore, the select-all icon in the Notes app is a speaker... Should be two rectangles, one behind another. The Paste and Highlight icons are both a telephone. Long-press on an already typed word to highlight it, and in the pop-up, these bugs appear.

App icon silhouettes/outlines when moving a certain app from the app drawer to the home page, or from one home page to another, is pixellated. It's very sharp and nice in ViperS 1/2/3. To elaborate, for example when I move the Flashlight app from the app drawer to the home screen, the blue outline of the app icon that appears is jagged and pixellated. This happens for all apps.

The Share button icon in the Email app is also a bit fuzzy. Not as sharp as the select-all/web search buttons.

Not sure if it's just me, but the Phone icon also seems a bit fuzzy.

I will continue to search for minor GUI issues like these and post, so that the devs can fix it and make a great ROM greater... Nothing is impossible!
