Problems

Hello

First of all, thank you guys, great work. The looks and performance is great. However, I have some vital issues with the rom and I hope I can find a solution.

1) The Wi-Fi is very problematic. Sometimes it hangs at "Turning On Wi-Fi". Sometimes it turns on but doesn't detect any hotspots. Reboot/wipe didn't solve anything.

2) There is no speaker sound at all. Alarms, ringtones, music, etc. absolutely no sound. But Headphones work very well.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Will flashing boot image through recovery option after flashing ViperS ROM help in above issue? Other than this issue ViperS works almost perfectly on my XE.
You can't flash the boot.img through recovery, because you are S-ON
It has to be done in fastboot mode or via smartflash in 4ext recovery.

But smartflash never worked for me, i always flash it via fastboot.

So download desired zip-rom-file, open it with 7zip (or whatever), extract the boot.img
Flash the boot.img via fastboot, and the rom's zip file via recovery

good luck

probably you are enabling smartflash in the wrong time
That might be a / the solution ;)

Btw:
This ROM is awesome!!!
For me everthing works as expected, i was really blown away by the speed of it.
Never thought that a 5.0 sense ROM would be this snappy on our hardware.

Respect and props @ developers!!!
Thank you very very much for the rom, very appreciated
Lovin' it

Smartflash works for me since day 1 i enabled it. About a year ago when i was still a noob and new to all this. Tell you what? There is a way of flashing a kernel aside from the traditional fastboot command. You can use Hasoon2000's Sensation 4G all-in-one toolkit. That is what i use when i (very rarely) encounter problems that need reflashing of kernel.

Sent from my Tensa Sensation XE using Ban Kai

no i didn't it helps?

i don't want to flash another kernel because this kernel has best battery
Sorry, the kernel is included in the boot.img
If you're S-ON it won't get flashed via recovery OR you did something wrong with smartflash (like me :) )

Flash boot.img with fastboot and you should be good

Ok... but do I have to flash boot image first and then rom or reverse is also allowed? While tackling reboot issue, I flashed rom first and then boot image.

Thanks & Regards.

did you try to flash the boot.img of the rom via fastboot command?
I have flashed the boot.img via fastboot command and still no difference. It hangs with the text "Turning on Wi-Fi"

Btw, I can't open the "Sound Enhancer" from the settings menu. It says "Unfortunately, Sound Enhancer has stopped" as I tap on its button. I think this may give a clue about the speaker problem.

Thanks in advance

Speaker has no problem, but the sound enhancer app is broken because we have no complete tweaks app, yet. It's supposed to be included in the next build.

I bought used sensation about a month ago. It was already rooted and had some 4.2.2 rom on it. I've flashed viper s 5.0 and it was working flawlessly. But at first night, I charged my phone to 100% and turned it off and at mourning when I wanted to turn it on, it was booting slowly and immediately after booting said battery empty (4%) and some error. First I thought it was original sensation's battery which was pretty bad, so I've bought stronger battery but it was still draining when phone is turned off. I've googled battery drain when sensation is turned off and found it was fastboot option which is draining battery. Next night I've unchecked fastboot option and turned phone off, and battery was same level like before I turned off phone :). Tried revelation rom and battery also drained when fastboot was active. After that moment every time I flash a sense rom first thing I do is uncheck fastboot option.

Anyone else having that weird fastboot battery drain problem on this or any sense rom?
Fastboot works great on any sense Rom on my desire s.

I wrote this post here, because I am mostly using this rom.
And I write here after a month because I want my sensation to boot faster if that's possible.

+1 for this. An example is Tamil.

Secondly, there are several (minor) GUI issues that I've mentioned a while ago...

For example, the playback bar is not displaying in the Voice Recorder app in portrait mode, and the control buttons such as play/pause/stop are not displaying in landscape mode. This only occurs while replaying recordings.

Furthermore, the select-all icon in the Notes app is a speaker... Should be two rectangles, one behind another. The Paste and Highlight icons are both a telephone. Long-press on an already typed word to highlight it, and in the pop-up, these bugs appear.

App icon silhouettes/outlines when moving a certain app from the app drawer to the home page, or from one home page to another, is pixellated. It's very sharp and nice in ViperS 1/2/3. To elaborate, for example when I move the Flashlight app from the app drawer to the home screen, the blue outline of the app icon that appears is jagged and pixellated. This happens for all apps.

The Share button icon in the Email app is also a bit fuzzy. Not as sharp as the select-all/web search buttons.

Not sure if it's just me, but the Phone icon also seems a bit fuzzy.

I will continue to search for minor GUI issues like these and post, so that the devs can fix it and make a great ROM greater... Nothing is impossible!

P.S. Hope @ivicask is taking note...
Bump..
