If I wanted to revert to the first version of the rom, is there a way to avoid the warning that there is an update available?

If you don't register to venom hub you will not be notified about rom update. I am using 5.1.0 and I don't get software update available warning.
I also wanted to flash 5.0 but camera is not fully functional and I would miss aosp quick settings.

I reverted to 5.1.0 and solved with buildprop editor the update thing. I can confirm that with this version my device is smoother and battery lasts longer...don't know why, probably it's the new blinkfeed...???

I didn't notice battery life difference between 5.1.0 and 5.2.1 but I can't stand BlinkFeed appearing in recent apps every time I read article on 5.2.1

You need to understand what is syncing. Go to account settings and look for the account which is always syncing.
