Play store is crashing after I tried to update an app with it. In fact only Google Drive is working now - gmail crashes at start. Need to try full Gapps.
Camera sometimes closes with gallery-related message.
The rest is fine. This firmware is very responsible indeed.
Thanks to Zeubea

Zeubea work is very good and promising.

There are little problems of stability yet reported I noticed too:
camera (3rd app like lgCamera is no more a good solution, it was perfect as camcorder too in cm9, in cm10 FC it doesn't work)
calc as said doesn't work
auto display luminosity is not working and can't be configured
little stability issues (as example in lock screen happened)

Google apps in arm v6 package are ok in my device and in cm10 is ok also gsm network selection.

Suggestion on how to replace camera app with another one usefull as camcorder?

I was wondering if in cm9.1 b5 camera module was the old one (working with 3rd party app) or that for ZTE Blade.
In the first case maybe it could be a good choice also for cm10, I'm not a developer, I do not want to be pushy with my idea.

Thanks to Zeubea

In my turn I should say that it is the first ROM that has been working for 24 hours being overclocked without hangs and reboots on my device.

Lol I'm using cm7.2 (newest nightly) as I really need stable GPS atm.
Ranger4740,

could you confirm that GPS is working stable with latest CM7.2 nightly? I really like to have CM9 or CM10 (looks great, good overall performance), however getting a fix most times takes ages, even with 7-8 sats visible and in use

Thanks for your feedback

Lol, yes for me, on my device, cm 7.2(latest nightly) GPS is perfect.

I've now tried alpha 3 for a short time, very smooth and responsive.

Mr.Z, it doesn't yet seam that there is support for any ext partitions, link2sd does not work (can't create mount scripts) my Google search indicated cause is no ext support in rom, missing ext2.ko or ext3.ko or ext4.ko module, I looked for these files and didn't find them. Please confirm this.
When I tried to change custom screen dimming settings I got fc too.

I think this is going to be a real winner when jellybean gets to the same development level as what your cm9 currently is  :D

Ranger, Link2sd works in my legend.
Initially i had the message it cant't mount the script but thyen rebooted. After eboot got the message that scrip not mounted ot boot and fast rebooted.
After this link2sd works ok, providing you reboot after do linking. On rebooting will show android upgrade for as many apps as you linked.
In the process i also uninstalled some system apps to free some memory as it was almost full - don't know if this has anything to do with it

All apps work so far in CM10. Had trouble with GPS because tried to use faster fix but gps config file is empty and will fail. Turned up i didn't need to fix it as when testing got lock in less than 2 min!

Link2sd works for me too. Reinstalled gapps. Still no way.
Reinstalled Gmail via Link2sd menu and It does work. This trick hasn't helped with play store FC.

After half a day of usage I have four questions and one of them should be familiar for some regular forum readers. On my lockscreen it says 'uncharging' (I don't know if that is the correct translation, I'm running JB in Dutch) while it should display my name here. It is right where it says 'charging' when you're charging your battery. Why is this?

The second point is that awaking the device is sometimes a little hard. Is there anything I can do to change this?

A third point is that I have some reboots, once in a while. I presume this has to do with wifi. Perhaps when it goes to sleep? I have now turned of this option, and just turn it of myself when I'm having college or something, where I can't use it anyway.

And the last part, my everlasting problem. Why don't my hardware buttons light up. They worked, after the first boot when flashing. But after the very first time I rebooted, they have stopped working again. I don't use automatic brightness (I always turn that off after the first boot, could that be it) and I can restore the lights by changing the brightness. However, as soon as I lock my device, the lights turn of, to never turn on again.

I will not be switching back to CM9 though. It's very stable, responsive and awesome. I love the new bar and Google Now.
Where it displays your name is called the "owner info" in lockscreen settings. The owner info information shares the same space on the lock screen as the battery charging %. If, in the lock screen menu, the battery status is set to 'always on', the owner info will not be displayed, as it displays the battery info instead. Also, if its set to 'only when charging' the owner info will not be displayed while the phone is charging.

My hardware buttons don't light up either, but I didn't even notice until I just read your post! haha.

I get a few random reboots as well. Not sure why - I'll have to look into this.

"Note "keep Wifi on during sleep" is set up Never by default. Change it to Always."

I missed this when I first flashed it... I just changed it then, and I haven't gotten any random reboots :D

Link2sd is working for me also :)

Google Now voice workaround

Install the google now for ICS fix, then install voice search from market.

Now when you launch into google now, it should automatically launch the old voice search for you.

For trackpad wakeup, an script has been include (thanks to winsuk from aria) in /system/bin/trackballwakeup. Just execute it in a shell and reboot.
And one more question: How is trackball wakeup supposed to work? I executed the script, but I still cannot unlock the phone using the trackball. Instead, when I use the trackball a mouse appears and I can use it as mouse (which is totally not what I want).
EDIT: I investigated the case. After running the trackballwake script the curcial-oj.idc file is empty(!). The write was not successful, and trying to copy a correct version gives "cp: write error: No space left on device"
I had the same problem, but forgot about it until I re-read this thread... So I just executed the script again and rebooted immediately and now it works :fingers-crossed:

I'm using Camera illusion and videocam illusion. You can also use older version of Camera ICS but doesn't have as many features as this one

What's the difference between the normal gapps and the "small_armv6" gapps? I installed the normal one and it works like a charm.

I do have another question. I read that I have to disable the automatic wifi sleep. Can I still toggle it on and off manually or should I expect reboots from this (I remember 2.6.35-based kernels have this problem).

And one more question: How is trackball wakeup supposed to work? I executed the script, but I still cannot unlock the phone using the trackball. Instead, when I use the trackball a mouse appears and I can use it as mouse (which is totally not what I want).

What script did you use. I would love to have my trackball acting like mouse

The one that should be located at /system/bin/trackballwake

just run it from the term on the phone.

Code:
$su
#cd /system/bin
#trackballwake
Then reboot.

I'll have a look into those camera apps, thanks. But honestly the screen going crazy doesn't really bother me because the photos still are fine ;)

OK guys I've discovered a very important fact for every ones consideration, installing jellybean and mini gapps I only have 36.8 KB free and ROM manager didn't get installed its missing on my list. So for people who are having install issues it might be because of too many bad blocks in the system ROM space, so people having issues will have to strip out as many apps from the ROM as they can before installing.

Edit: I removed about 10mb of apps from system then installed link2sd came up with a different error, but can confirm that after a reboot link2sd is working .

You definitely cleared everything before flashing? I remember I had quite a bit of free internal space left (defs > 20MB), and everything had installed. that's a lot of nand mem to be bad, even after you've flashed it a thousand times it should still be okay...

but as long as you got link2sd working now :victory:

Zeubea wrote in the changelog that he added the new CMUpdater instead of ROMManager. Is the Updater you say didn't get installed? I Could not find updater either.

Cheers

OK, today, after flashing the ROM again, it doesn't work!

I did see in the change log about cmupdater thingie, but the first time I flashed alpha3 (I didn't flash gapps) ROM manager was was installed and I can't see cm updater. The second time round I flashed ROM and gapps and ROM manager was missing, I suspect there wasn't enough room.
When I flash new ROM I always format the boot, system, cache, data and sd-ext.

After couple of days testing:
X Better and faster than CM9 - Antutu [email protected]
X Tried LCD Modder - can't change the density - phone locks on black screen and need to reboot in recovery manually and reflash or restore
X Didn't manage to change system apps to user apps for some reason.
X Spirit UL radio - not working - no sound
X Open Garden doesn't work - Doesnt open and display the message - "Could not install file/data/data/og.android.tether/bin/dnsmasq"
X Tried to use Cygwin to remove some system apps from start but doesn't work with this particulalry rom (worked ok with Alpha 1). Maybe some security Zeubae added?
X Noticed some system config files are empty (gps.conf etc) - maybe to save space?
And finally the list of working apps in my legend - main ones:
- Camera
- Videocam illusion
- Prozoom Camera
- Link2Sd
- ROM Toolbox
- Titanium backup
- GPS test
- headset notifier
- Unified remote
- Google Play
- Youtube - with Tubemate downloader
- Voice recording
- QR Barcode scanner

NOTE: The system files shown as empty i think are because R/W rights. Ig change the folder rights they will show the content
